It's quite intentional! They're unpopular in the fandom and I want to change that. Therefore, a deliberately cute and appealing design

And this is just my headcanon but it does influence how I draw them: I think the Dwarf is a child, or at least is very young for their species

I know that Short = Child is a really shit trope but. They are wary of strangers and don't know much about humans despite dwarves living near people, like milk, is extremely blunt, sells the Miner's Treat, which is a swirly lollipop, and Krobus called them "shrimpy".
