गुरु को तजै भजै जो आना। ता पशुवा को फोकट ज्ञाना।। गुरु से बैर करै शिष्य जोई। भजन नाश अरु बहुत बिगोई।। सरलार्थ:- जो शिष्य अपने गुरु से अधिक किसी अन्य सन्त या भक्त में आस्था रखता है तो उस पशु को कोई ज्ञान नहीं है क्योंकि गुरु के प्रति परमात्मा जैसा भाव रहना चाहिए। गुरुजी से अधिक किसी को स्थान अपने हृदय में न दें, सत्कार सबका करें। जो शिष्य गुरुजी से शत्रुता करता है। उसकी भक्ति नष्ट हो जाती है और भी बहुत विनाश होता है।

पीढ़ी सहित नरकमें परिहै। गुरु आज्ञा शिष्य लोप जो करि है।। चेलो अथवा उपासक होई। गुरु सन्मुख ले झूठ संजोई।। निश्चय नर्क परै शिष्य सोई। वेद पुराण भाषत सब कोई।। सरलार्थ:- जो शिष्य गुरु की आज्ञा को अनदेखा करता है। वह पीढ़ी सहित नरक में गिरता है अर्थात् पूरे वंश को डुबो देता है। चेला (जो घर त्यागकर संत वेश धारण करके गुरु के साथ आश्रम में रहता है। उसको सन्तजन चेला कहते हैं) हो अथवा उपासक (जो ग्रहस्थ आश्रम में रहकर साधना करता है व दीक्षा लेकर गुरुजी के बताए भक्ति कर्म को करता है, उसे उपासक कहा है) हो, जो गुरुजी के आगे झूठ बोलता है। वह शिष्य नरक में अवश्य गिरता है। यह प्रमाण वेदों तथा पुराणों में भी लिखा है अर्थात् वेद-पुराण भी यही कहते (भाषत) हैं।
