2019 Resolutions
GAME REVIEW: 30 games
PICTURE: 80 drawings
MUSIC: 50 tracks.
Checklist:
*Understand what you do right / wrong. Adapt & overcome
*SOCIALIZE PLEASEEEE. get to know ppl and get ppl to know you.
*Do the whole book before 2nd month.
*Learn a lot about languages.
*Practice.
*Gather some kinda following
*Read a lot of fiction books.

2018 in Retrospect
IT WAS THE HUMBLE BEGINNING.
Not only have i learned how to make a whole game with somewhat of a story-line, i also learned how multiple games work and what makes them special.
I realized music isn’t a bunch of random notes, it’s a way of communication. You have to put words into melodies, counter-melodies and harmonies.
Drawing’s been a fun challenge, and i progressed from weird brown 1 eyed monster (my current profile picture) into lighting, shading and working through several steps to create a sprite.
I kinda started becoming the person i want to be. Also i may have a "””life philosophy"”” now.
Dreams stay but change shape and direction, motivation appears and disappears, hope is held tight.
2019 will be (i guess) a challenge filled fun and hard year, but it will be worth it.
HERE’S MY 2018 RESOLUTIONS:
Make 100 music tracks
*Play and analyze 25 games
*Make a game to learn how to
– Make a rpg
– Make funny/interesting dialogue and situations
– Make a full game
*Make a lets player notice me
*Draw lots of art to make better pixel art
*Start talking with people, i am lonely.
HERE’S WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED:
*Made 26 tracks
*Played and analyzed 25 games
*Drew about 34 pixel art
*Learned basics and some techniques on pixelart
*MADE A GAME! Yay! Its released! Learned how to
– Make a rpg
–Make funny/interesting dialogue and situations
-Drew A LOT of pixel art.
Not a full 8 hour game but its content-full
*Talking with people!
Here is to a more productive and overall better year! Happy new year!

I’m improving!
YES, i didn’t keep my promise, i didn’t make a brand new track and a new drawing every day till the 1st of jan 2019. BUT
I am proud of my progression both drawing and music vise.
I finally have experience to make a LONG ass game.
8 hours long im talking about.
I feel like i can take on this challenge w/o risking my student life.
Music is very important and i really started understanding what works and what doesn’t. same with drawing. I still have a lot to understand, and its ok.
I think i have what it takes to put out something really special.
We’ll see and thank you for sticking around.

[GLP] Not unjust | Super Meat Boy
In the pic you can see how super meat boy works. It gives you a main challenge and a side challenge.
You can either take all the challenges on or just finish the level. Bandages are the rewards. They help you unlock new characters. Most people would think this is a good reward. Otherwise, lot’s of people would skip anything other than the main challenge.
First levels always give you the deal and later on expand on it. You won’t ever feel like you don’t know what a thing is or what it does or how it could be passed. It always starts slow and finishes big.

[GLP] The overall obstacle | Super Meat Boy
Every world has a theme and after the theme is created the dev selected an overall obstacle. This obstacle (usually) doesn’t move but rather blocks areas you touch. Salt World has salt as the thing keeping you from touching surfaces, hospital has needles and the first world has saws. Hell has fire and etc.
The overall obstacle is there to (i think) have a basic platforming challenge before any other thing is introduced in that world. You get the grip through it.

[GLP] How the Bullets Turn | Just Shapes & Beats
1)      Avoid it: The ones where you avoid by any means necessary.
2)      Don’t enter it: Ones that cover places (usually big) you could use to fight. These don’t let you enter some spaces(that you could’ve used to dodge/move) for some time. Doesn’t move(usually.)
3)      Move it: Ones that you avoid by moving a particular way. These lead you on through your coordinates to a new one knowingly.
4)      Razor it: Lines that move through spaces horizontally or vertically. You have to do something else than move. Alignments’ reverse needs a change (if line is horizontal change your vertical.)
5)      Line it: Lines you cannot be in/touch. Doesn’t move. (usually covers the whole screen so you need to dash through or stay and move wherever it takes you.)

[GLP] Join the Dark Side | The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth
This game really is about choices. Here you’ll get to choose if you want to play with the “easy mode”. I accepted the offer only once but I almost beat the entire game that time, had i not been killed by the final boss. I’m not sure if this option has anyting other than gameplay consequences but that is a good example of consequence vs choice.

[GLP] It’s Time to Choose | The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth
With limited resources come resource management! Ask questions like “Which of the present options will I choose?”, “What are the short and the long term benefits, and which type do I need?”,“Am I trying to save the day or the year?”
Letting players get item(s) based not on their luck or stats but current situations, decisions and resources is a good way to intrigue them.

[GLP] Help the Helping | The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth
If the health’s a problem you can have a helper deployed/set up after a threshold’s been passed. It can be an ite mor even a customization kind of thing. It can be pre-chosen or chosen after an event. After some condition’s are met you deploy the helper and it helps. It can be anything from rearranging the room to restocking an item into the player’s inventory and just attack enemies or increase some stats. The condition could be dying to an enemy type 3 times for example.

[GLP?] Whats Spelunky | Spelunky
Spelunky’s just a lot of systems come together and you just try to get from point A to B. It’s similar to Mirror’s Edge in that way.
Everything has in’s and out’s and if one thing’s in is another’s out then that’s a match and they act accordingly.
You can throw anything in front of that stone that throws arrows and it’ll throw an arrow.
Some enemies can be killed with arrow or stone or skull while some just faint and some don’t care.
Physics kill almost anyone so far.
