SPOILERS BELOW + THEORY! BE AWARE:

I know I always post about momo, but that’s only because she is my absolute fav in the show and has the potential to be such an integral part of the story. As many of us know, the traitor of class 1a has been revealed. I believe that momo will be the one to figure out that she is the traitor. This prob will not happen but it would make the manga a lot better if it did.

Point 1: There was only one vote missing when they voted for class president. Momo herself having 2 votes (her + todo). Everyone else either voted for themself or there were they voted for midoriya. There was one vote missing and that was presumptively hagakure (no votes). Knowing momo she must have thought this was a little sus as she wanted it so badly.

Point 2: momo is know for her intelligence. In the stats books, she is rated 6/5 and 6/6 and has the highest intelligence out of everyone in the series. She is known for her battle strategy and planning which has been shown and emphasized many times in the series (answering all mights questions better than he could have lol, gigantomachia, tracking device, battle against aizawa.) I could totally see her observing all the occurrences with hagakure and taking note, especially her being the one to suggest going to the mall. We also know she is capable of making tracking devices, so she could have tracked her also.

Point 3: momo was paired with both hagakure and Aoyama in class a vs class b battles. As many including myself thought Aoyama was the traitor for a long time, he was suspicious. However I believe he knew that she was the traitor as they were paired up at usj and has been giving us hints about it the entire time and has been too scared or was threatened into not saying anything. Momo could have noticed the tension between the two or Aoyama acting strangely. Also, momo was also paired with Aoyama during the training arc where the league attacked. In the manga and episode, Aoyama was visibly acting strange and could have seen her contact the league. I believe that she knocked out Jirou and the others as she was not seen and that was why Aoyama was acting weird. Momo was there to witness this strange behavior. I also bet hagakure never expected momo to put a tracking device on the nomu.

Point 4: momo was given command by midnight to take down gigantomachia which led to the eventual death, during the manga chapters hagakure is with them, but she is barley shown attacking machia as the league of villains rode on his back. This could be suspicious to them, however this one is pushing it a little as the situations was super high stress.

ANYWAY, momo yaoyorozu is a queen and the smartest character in the show. As she has been show to deduce ways of beating villains and has an intelligence higher than shigaraki and has proven to be a thorn in his side. If anyone will discover her secret and reveal it, it will most likely be momo.

This theory is prob not true, but that’s why it is a theory LMAO. Please feel free to let me know what you all think of this!!!!

Is Momo Expanding Her Limits?

Okay so I was originally going to put this in this lil 320 reaction post but it would have been too long and it felt like it needed it’s own separate post so here. This is kind of me rambling about Momo but mostly about her potential

Is it just me, or was this scene a little unnerving, given the fact that he was basically going to be held down, forced into a helmet and put to sleep without his consent? Like I know she was trying to help him but… geez

Ngl, this scene, with the restrictions and chains holding him down, feels almost similar to Bakugou chained up at the sports festival. Like, not the same conditions, but it’s almost as if treating him like a wild creature that needs to be chained and contained.

The first thing I thought of with this scene was how it’s almost like those chains in Tartarus? With the whole tying him up and stuff.

Also the fact that Izuku can just break those kinds of machines… scary stuff. A true powerhouse.

Let’s talk about Momo, though.

Her creations have always been limited to stuff like cannons, spears, blankets, poles etc etc. Stuff that she could make and then wield. And these are things that she needs to know what the materials are to make them.

She needs to know what makes up her creations for her to actually make them.

So for her to go from cannons, spears, poles… to a fucking machine that can chain someone and put them to sleep against their will?? That’s a BIG leap from what she usually makes.

So, I’m thinking this is the result of her trauma with seeing Midnight’s corpse and the death of millions from the War. This is her AFTER that, and she’s likely blamed herself for not thinking faster, not being better, not being enough, and so she’s trained.

We’ve seen the new moves in this chapter, right? Ragnarok Womb, Blast Landmines, and now this. These kids have been TRAINING. They went straight from a war into training to become better. I know the country is short on Heroes, and these kids are like the last dregs of what society has, but it’s just so sad to see them like this in the impossible situation they are in.

And, my best guess for Momo’s evolution in creations is that she thought to herself “I’m not good enough, I’m not confident enough to be quicker or think faster… so what if I make sure I can create something that will do the job fast enough for me?”

Idk maybe she HAS gotten better with thinking faster and being more precise in her calculations since Izuku left, but if she feels that she is still inadequate, there’s a chance that’s she’s shifted to more drastic measures.

Something that, when an enemy comes towards her group, she can just lure the enemy towards them, plant this device against a solid surface, and let the machine do its job for them.

Momo usually wielded things as a weapon or in defense to help people, but now she’s planted a device that can restrain and immobilize an opponent quicker than a battle would. IMAGINE what that kind of creating could achieve in a mission, or god forbid, another war. She wants to make sure nothing like Midnight’s death or Machia’s terror can ever cause a calamity as big as the war ever again.

She’s obviously been doing her research to expand her uses.

Which leads me to my final thoughts…

If this is the case, and she wants to help out more with creations possibly similar to this one, where the FUCK did she get information on this kind of device? In what book or video did she get the EXACT information and materials to make THIS kind of device?

At least every fan has looked at Momo and her quirk and thought of what the hell she could make. We’ve thought of her potential, her limits - what kind of things could she make to help in her line of duty? Her stuff has mostly been defensive, or useful items to help in a mission, so what else could she create?

And now, I think we may be witnessing the start of her limits expanding.

How far is Momo willing to go to immobilize an opponent, to make sure the death of innocents won’t weigh on her mind like it did in the War Arc?

Momo isn’t a bad person, and I’m not insinuating that she would hurt people badly or even kill them just to end a battle, not at all. I’m more or less just stating that Momo seems like her evolution in creations is becoming more of a “take them down quick with whatever you can” rather than “disarm them calmly and arrest them” due to the possibility of her guilt surrounding Midnight and Machia, and how she doesn’t want that to happen again.

My only question is how far would she go to do this? Would it be a “anything goes as long as the enemy is immobilized” or “I still don’t want to hurt people so this is more of a last ditch effort in order to keep people safe”

She’s been held back by her lack of confidence for so long, so what happens now, when she experiences the true danger of the entire situation? I feel like she’ll remember her guilt and regret, dismiss her lack of confidence and she’ll become more determined, more focused, than she was before. Lives are on the line, and that determination and newfound confidence is going to lead into serious power she probably didn’t even know she had.

If we are witnessing the start of Momo’s limits expanding [possibly even breaking?], there’s no telling what she could do! I’m not sure if Hori will ever reflect on it, but it’s still interesting to think about. If she can go further than this, it’ll be some super cool and scary stuff to see.

So, yeah. While this scene showed us a little more into Momo and her line of thinking [it did for me anyway], I still find this scene unnerving with what she can do and the true potential of her quirk.

Spoilers!! Just as warning 😌

Has anyone else noticed that momo has not been shown that frequently in the class 1a bring back deku mission. She created that sick machine to put him asleep in the last chapter, but her face I don’t think was seen by deku! She’s not in this current chapter also, which is interesting!!

This might be leading up to the reveal that momo is a shimura theory! If the vestiges can essentially see through deku, don’t you think that nana shimura would look at momo and be like “this girl looks exactly like me and her quirk is the opposite of shigaraki’s decay”!

This might also lead to an interesting set up for the next few chapters. I believe bnha 321 is named class 1a vs one for all or something along those lines. I’m loving that Iida is getting his moment this chapter, but I think momo is gonna somehow trap deku. One way or another she is going to come face to face with shimura through deku!! also class 1a trying to convince the vestiges to stop deku cuz he’s literally almost dying!!!

IDK, but I will go down with this theory!!

Momo centric version of mha / bnha where:

he's the reincarnation of Hana Shimura.

She's the only one who can create a machine to contain AFO's quirk and destroy it.

The whole class 1-A swear to protect her, specially Deku and Bakugo, who are training with All Might.

Shoto, Kendo and Jirou are her best friends and they share some amazing arcs with her.

There's no Mineta and Hagakure is in class 1-B, which means both Kendo and Shinso are in class 1-A.

Aizawa takes the role of her mentor, which means we get to see Momo and Shinso fighting side by side.

She's the one who has crazy connections because her family is rich.

The female pro-heroes have a huge impact on the plot, instead of just looking pretty around and being badass for a minute or two.

The female students and female pro-heroes actually have functional suits.

Momo gets to gain some weight and train with FatGum.

Midnight is not used as a sex symbol for the plot and she has better clothes, more complex interactions and it's an amazing mother figure to the kids at UA.

AFO plays Tomura into thinking he's obsession over her is because they need her to achieve their plan, but the truth is that Tomura's subconscious recognizes Hana's face, even if he can't because he forgot about his family.

Tomura is at least three years older than in the canon, to make the times of Hana's death and Momo's birth match.

Which means Momo would be 16 and Tomura would be 23. That's basically the age gap between Touya and Shoto.

Momo is insanely smart and gentle, you can't even try to tell me she wouldn't be an amazing protagonist.

Imagine her having a combo with Hatsume Mei and Melissa Shield.

The kids of Class 1-B have a lot more participation.

Nejire also has a better treatment because she deserves it.

Lady Nagant works with the League of Villains since the beginning.

All Might commenting on how Momo looks a lot like Nana.

MOMO PHYSICALLY LOOKING MORE LIKE NANA WHEN SHE USES TOO MUCH FAT AND YOU CAN SEE THE MUSCLES BENEATH.

Bakugou and Momo dynamic

I have always thought that Bakugou and Momo have a dynamic with a lot of potential even though it is never exploited, and I have always wanted to see them work together in more situations.

From the beginning, Bakugou recognizes Momo as a worthy rival.

Manga: Chapter 11

Momo was the first person in the manga to criticize Bakugou, she not only say, what Bakugou did was foolish, but she did a complete analysis on him, and the teams. After Momo's analysis where everyone was surprised even All Migth himself, she was introduced as one of the 4 elite students who entered for the recommendation exam, being the number one student in her category (while Bakugou was the number one student to enter for the general exam).

After Momo's introduction, with Bakugou's expression was hinted that this is the first time that he realizes that there are others, who are more capable of becoming the Hero no. 1

After the fight and at the end of the day, Deku seeks out Bakugou to talk to him about the fight, but Bakugou shuts him up, accepting that losing to Deku was one of the reasons for his anger, but that was not the only reason. He admits that now there are more people better than him that he has to overcome, he recognizes Todoroki's strength and that Yaoyorozu pointed out with precision the failures he made, this ends up openly acknowledging and saying it out loud. Considering Momo and Todoroki the first worthy opponents (besides Midoriya).

Bakugou's recognition Momo is something that was noticed the most in the anime

the second light novel: Chapter 1 “Various Study Sessions”

There is a chapter where Bakugo is tutor of Kirishima. At the beginning of the chapter, it is explained that the reason why Bakugou started tutoring Kirishima is because Momo is academically number one and when the others looked for her to ask for tutoring, instead of him, Bakugou felt that the others were acknowledging that she got over him and Bakugou got angry, then Kirishima made a joke of that and Bakugou felt more angry, and so he offered to teach Kirishima.

In the manga Bakugou gets angry when Deku answers but smiles when he realizes that Deku answered wrong, and then Momo comes out answering right.

I like this part because Bakugou who doesn't want to lose against anyone and wants to be number one in everything (even academically and that's why he started tutoring Kirishima), prefers to see Deku fail even if it means that Momo continues to surpass him academically .

Bakugou respects Momo's judgment to the degree of following her

FIST OVA: Save! Rescue training!

Bakugou and Todoroki fight over who has the best plan and also over the leadership of the team. Momo ends up getting fed up with their fight and shuts them up, calling them pathetic for their unprofessional and childish behavior by not taking the practice seriously.

Bakugou was bothered by Momo’s call for attention, but instead of his shouting and saying “don’t tell me what to do” he swallowed his pride: he shutting up without interrupting or contradicting Momo and in the end he ended up obeying her

Bakugou generally puts up some resistance to do what others tell him to do. But when Momo tells him what to do, he shuts up and obeys her without lashing out at her even though Momo has criticized / insulted him several times for his behavior.

Bakugou recognizes Momo's abilities

In the movie Bakugou leaves Momo in charge of the evacuation of civilians.

This makes sense since, in the first Ova and in the arc of the provisional license, it was seen that Bakugou is not very good at dealing with civilians who are in crisis and need help. However at the same time in the OVA and in the provisional license arc, it was also seen that helping and rescuing civilians is something Momo is good at and excels at. In addition, Bakugou quirk is has more use in combat, while Momo's quirk is versatile.

Bakugo is not rude to Momo

Cultural Festival Arc

Momo says why certain activities were ruled out. Bakugo is annoyed that one of the discarded activities was the one he proposed, but he had a less explosive demeanor than usual, and was more calm and sarcastic in the way he complains about it to ​Momo

At Band practice, Momo is horrified at how Bakugou speaks to Tokoyami. Momo seems more concerned than the same Tokoyami who is the one Bakugo is insulting.

Bakugou and Momo haven't interacted much, and in the few times they have. Bakugo has never come to exploit, yell, insult or be rude to Momo, as he has done to other characters. I think that's why Momo is more worry about insults (of Bakugou) than Tokoyami himself.

My Hero: One’s Justice.

Momo tells Bakugo that she admires how he constantly improves no matter what he faces. And that she will do her best every day to keep up with him.

Even though Momo is horrified at how Bakugo treats others, and she doesn't always agree with his ideas or plans. Momo watches him, admires him and somehow he inspires her to strive

Spin-Off: Smash!

Bakugo is hit by a quirk. And he starts flirting with everyone.

They put a practice of hostages, heroes and villains. When Momo is held hostage by Bakugou, Bakugou starts flirting with Momo he also starts to invade Momo's personal space more and more and she starts to get so nervous that she even cries, and then he ends up beating himself up unconscious.

I don't know what went through Bakugo's head when he was knocked out by himself, but it made me laugh that Bakugou, one of the characters who hates losing the most and who in this same chapter almost kills Deku when he was his hostage, because he could no longer bear be acting weird. With Momo he prefer to hurt himself and lose, than to continue bothering Momo, him or hurting her.

I think they both have a dynamic, where Momo isn't afraid to tell Bakugou her faults, and Bakugou respects Momo enough to stay calm and listen or follow her.

The case for TodoMomo and BakuDeku

But I wanted to go into a little more detail about what these two ships/character pairings have in common. On the surface they probably don’t look that similar, but I think there’s a fascinating thread between them.

Hopefully in the next few chapter of the manga there will be a momo is a shimura reveal. I just really hope she is part of the midoriya rescue squad!

Manifesting Bakugo taking midoriya back to their friends. Momo would be creating a plan to destroy shigaraki. Nana shimura and friends being like this girl looks exactly like you. Shimura proceeds to realize her mistake was not as bad as she thought. Also her realizing that momo is a SICK Hero!!

Also manifesting, bakugo, momo and friends giving midoriya shit for making the decision to isolate himself. What is momo was like “why would you abandon you friends. That is not a smart plan”. nana shimura proceeds to repeat the same mistake again through deku, but it will be fixed as he joins them again. It would make her so sad that she repeated the same mistake with another member of her family!

How can you deny this... manifesting nana shimura realizing yaoyorozu is her granddaughter who is badass hero, the goddess of creation, the antithesis to shigarakis decay. also her realizing that her decision was not as bad as she thought as the GODDESS momo fucking yaoyorozu is her genius recommended student granddaughter. If this is true I can totally see banjo being like “hey seventh, this girl looks awful a lot like you!” Cue shimura start hysterical crying again lol.

This evidence of the theory concerning yaoyorozu and nana shimura. In the chapter regarding shigarakis backstory, we’re able to see his parents and his sister. Momo bears a striking resemblance to the sister, Hana and to shigarakis father (Kotaro shimura). Now let’s be clear lol, I don’t think momo is Hana, as Hana was older. But what if kotaro was able to survive due to his unknown quirk and eventually had another family. Or what if all for one fabricated the events that led to shigaraki turn to evil. Idk lol.

The father was a business man and that what’s momo’s family has had success in. We have NEVER seen her parents which is bizarre when they are wealthy, famous, and I think have a hero fam legacy. Not to mention that fact that she looks EXACTLY like nana shimura it’s ridiculous.

Now I know momo quirk is creation, the antithesis to shigarakis decay. I believe that decay is a quirk mutation (it makes sense that he breaks things down on an atomic level while momo creates on a subatomic level). This implicates that probs creation was the quirk that was mutated to decay and that shimuras husband might have had the quirk creation in some aspect. If this is is the case that they are siblings, they are almost like the yin and the yang. Imagine a scenario where shigs wants momos quirk to be complete...Now I’m just going to far lmao.

It is also so strange how shigs and momo have never interacted despite all the times class 1a has encountered the Lov. Also, she is one of the reasons why he hasn’t been successful. She was the one the placed the tracker on the nomu that led the hero’s to he lab. She is the one that helped save bakugo. She is the one that took down gigantomachia in 15 seconds, when we all know nothing else could have stopped that thing.

Also now there is this villain that looks like her and has a similar quirk to creation. She also wore a ponytail like momo when she was young and had the little eye thing that momo was wearing in the first episode of the season. They could have some connection. idk this is prob a stretch! Maybe she’ll turn good again (as she was a hero) and be momos new mentor?

Ngl another theory is that they might try to take momo as her quirk has the potential to be so OP. They might try to replace twice (or steal her quirk), buts she a genius so I can see her making quirk erasure gadgets. Also now shigs knows what shimura looks like.

Also if shigarakis is her brother, any todomomo shippers out there get hype. This would give her more of a reason to get close to todoroki as they would similar goals of taking down their siblings, yet wanting to save them at the same time.

Also: NANA has a granddaughter named Hana (similar name, 1 letter changed)

NANA and MOMO (both 4 letters, repeating letters, and 2 syllables) This might be stretch.

ANYWAY YAOMOMO IS A LEGEND and could play such a bigger part! BEST GIRL!

As I am a true believer that momo is nana shimura’s granddaughter... and Ik a lot of ppl have already talked bout this theory... I don’t think she is Hana... it’s just strange how we have never seen her parents and she is such a huge part of bnha and her parents are supposed to be super rich, well known ppl etc. and we have also seen characters like froppys parents (no hate on tsu!) lolz. We might see her parents soon now that UA is a shelter for the parents of the hero kids... IDK

Reasons: 1. she looks exactly like her it actually funny. 2. Momo is the creation to shigarakis decay. 3. Shigs dad looks like momo even has the little hair thing like momo (he is shimuras son). 4. Ngl Momo has been a pain to shigs and he doesn’t know it’s her (Bakugos capture) and taking down gigantomachia 5. She has shown a lot of growth (more than any of the other female characters) 6. She is the smartest character in the series. 7. She lost both her mentors during the war and she needs a defining moment now.

Now it has come to my attention that there is a new bad ass villain that also looks like momo and looks like she has a similar quirk to creation. Just a farfetched theory, but what if all for one fabricated shigaraki killing his fam.. and Hana somehow survived. I know I’m stretching here but this would be a fantastic plot.
