Okay, so, I love talking about how Wade and Peter are two sides of the same coin, and how their executions are always a bit different, especially when doing a hero’s approach to a problem, and I just had a thought:

Wade focuses on the abuser.

Peter focuses on the victim

Consider: when both of them are faced with a similar situation, someone being hurt by someone else, Wade’s first response is to “kill”, Peters first is to “protect.”

Wade will narrow in on the abuser and focus on killing them. They deserve it, right? Get them out of the way and out of the equation, save the day, problem solved. It’s an efficient tactic and the abuser doesn’t get a chance to hurt again.

Peter, on the other hand, focuses on saving the victim. Making sure they are safe and out of harms way (even if that means putting himself between the abuser and the victim). The whole point is to save the victim, not focus on the abuser. The victim is the one who needs help first and foremost.

And I think that has a bit of insight to their characters and their behaviors.

Wade was terribly, terribly abused almost his entire life, so of course, his natural response would be inwardly defensive and outwardly offensive (if that makes sense.) Seeing someone else getting abused and hurt makes him angry, so he’ll go after the abuser (just like he went after the people of Weapon X)

But Peter grew up in a loving household who supported and protected him growing up, and gave him different values. He was a scared kid who lost his parents, he was bullied all his life, he needed a protector. He gets angry too, seeing people getting hurt, but his first thought is going to be protecting the victim first and foremost.

Of course that doesn’t mean Wade doesn’t focus on victims, or that Peter is negligent to the abusers - I just think it’s an interesting concepts on their inward thoughts, drive, and motivation. Wade has just as much kind and caring compassion as Peter, and Peter has just just as much rage and violence as Wade, but their goals go in different directions despite their intentions being the same

They’re both saving the same person and beating the same bad guy, but their mindset toward it has two different approaches that kind of match their character (in my opinion), and I think it’s kind of neat.

I still can’t believe that in the last 10 years Superman, Green Arrow, Flash and Supergirl all had live-action shows about them with 100-200 episodes, meanwhile Batman literally didn’t have his own show since the 60′s??

Like yeah he’s definitely overexposed on the big screen, but the fact fact that he (nor any of the Batkids) never had their own TV show is crazy to me.

recently had the thought: those ‘switching bodies at __ age Soulmate AUs’ make no sense. is your soulmate always your age? if you’re different ages; does it happen twice? or once with the older person? or once but if you haven’t connected after that it happens again? what do you do in the time that you’re in their body? do you interact w/ppl? share ur name around so everyone knows who ur soulmate’s soulmate is? do you think homophobia exists in this universe? cause if you can prove that ur soulmate is the same gender as u theres no reason for ppl to believe that its ‘unnatural’ or w/e. do you think ppl just go about someone else’s day and when their soulmate is back everyone’s like ‘yh we could tell it wasn’t u but your soulmate seems polite’? isnt it enough to just write ur name and number in sharpie on their wrist and take a full-day nap? do you think in this universe you get a day off work/skl if you’re gonna switch bodies? or would you not know because it would be weird if soulmates were only ever ppl born on exactly the same day? do u think ppl try calling out of work cause ‘this is their soulmate; i’d b useless trying to work for them today’? if ur soulmate lives in another country that speaks s different language, would you be able to speak that language in their body?do u think it’s culture to have an ‘about me’ paragraph in ur phone? to turn off the password on ur phone?(tho i guess this is irrelevant since thumbprint and facial scanning tech is becoming the norm)

idk just something i’ve been thinking about, if u’ve got a good AU fics (doesn’t rlly matter the fandom, so long as it’s comprehensible to an outsider) that covers any of these points please rec them!!!
