Also, hello little Portal Chopper! As the astute reader may remember, this is not the first time we've seen one of Leo's patented Portal Choppers. You can see them in action in THIS CHAPTER. BIG BONUS points if anyone can figure out what the little hunk of metal is being used for it...

Don't worry, we'll go into more detail about it in the next update. Sorry I know the post is a bit short. It has been a busy busy month for me, but I'm excited to be finally getting to this part!

Hey! Leo finally did the thing!

After showing that shot of Leo after punching *someone* so long ago I finally get to give you the proper context (though many of you had guessed this being the instance)! TED talk time under the cut!

Leo’s anger and the way he handles his emotions has always fascinated me. While it was only apparent a few times in the film and series, it was obvious how much it could affect his reasoning. Leonardo in Rise (and many other iterations) has always been the type who would either keep his cool or lose it completely. The moment he does lose it his anger will completely take hold of his otherwise very keen rationality. Whether that’s making shallow claims of being treated like a witch in the Salisbury Witch Trials or attempting to physically attack Casey Jr. after losing Raph, once his emotions hit a breaking point all sense of reason goes out the window. It’s an interesting case of extremes and one that I think is going to get worse before it can get better, especially in the bad future timeline. While he does get better at keeping his emotions under control due to his years as a military dog and leader of the resistance, his fallout is even worse than when he was a kid, leading often to violence. I see him using Krang battles as an outlet… but every now and again the deep-seated anger that he feels normally towards himself will be redirected to whatever poor soul dared to set him off.

Also, sorry for the awkward cut off to this update. We're near the end of the chapter where it's just going to keep ramping up without a reprieve, so we'll just have to make do with a few weird pauses in this chapter finale. Thank you everyone for your patience as I've been getting my ducks in a row and getting back into the swing of updating.

Alright, Cassandra TED Talk Time! It's interesting.  A lot of people seem to paint Casey Senior as this law-breaking "stick-it to the man" type of character, but personally I see a young woman who mostly strives to do as she's told and honors those she deems worthy or above her station.  She holds a great deal of respect for her superiors and I could see that bleeding over into her adulthood.  Albeit, she does overcome this near fanatic obedience by the end of the series, but habits like those don't go away so easily.  She would hold the hierarchy of the colony in high regard and strive to place her family on the pedestal she believes they rightfully deserve after all they've done (regardless of whatever stigma they may have still received from some of the humans).  I think that part of her really rubbed off onto Casey Jr because the amount of respect he shows his closest family members in both naming convention, titles, and attitude is surprisingly uptight and never breaks in the movie save for when he's telling off Leo. Honestly, I can't think of anyone else he could have picked up this habit from because (unlike in other TMNT iterations) the terms "Sensei" and "Master" do not hold quite the same paternal meaning for the crew.  That's just my 2 cents though!

Hopefully now that all my responsibilities for Zines and other projects are complete I'll be able to get back onto a regular schedule. I'm really excited for the next chapter. We'll finally get to see Leo having to deal with some drama in the resistance and a few more familiar faces that I have yet to see make an appearance in any of the apocalyptic AUs. It's back to the character design board for me...

First and foremost, want to give a big shoutout to @thegunnsara now that I have finally finished their 3rd place prize with the inclusion of their amazing OC, Ibris. I still love their COVER from the Holiday Special Competition dearly! I'll be sure to slip Ibris into a few more scenes in the future. Sorry it took so long to finally get to him! I took some liberty with what his reaction would be to such a scene... hope I did him justice!
