Be Strong, Taiga
Ultra Affinity AU one-shoot story.
"Taiga, can you tell me how you got hurt like this?" Taro asked his only son, Taiga. Taiga's body was covered in wounds. However, Taiga was still reluctant to tell his father the truth.
"It's nothing, dad. It's just a small wound," Taiga replied.
"THIS IS CLEARLY NOT A SMALL INJURY, TAIGA!" Taro shouted to Taiga. Ace, who happened to be passing by and saw this, immediately approached Taro and asked him not to speak in such a high tone to Taiga.
Taiga got up from his seat and left Taro and Ace. Taro intended to follow him, but Ace intercepted him.
"Not yet, Taro, I feel like Taiga still doesn't want to tell the truth about what happened to him," Ace said.
"But the problem is that the wounds on Taiga's body are definitely because he was beaten by another ultra," Taro said.
Hearing Taro's statement reminded Ace of one thing.
"Taro, do the injuries on Taiga's body remind you of Max's previous injuries?" Ace asked. Taro paused, then nodded his head.
"It turns out I was right," Ace said.
"I regret that I didn't find out more about what happened to Max and who did it to him sooner. I should have suspected Frost after seeing the wounds on Max's body. Therefore, when I saw similar wounds on Taiga's body, it made me remember that incident," Taro explained. "And I only realized it after Max was raped by Frost."
Meanwhile, Taiga was looking for a place that was quiet and away from the crowd. He then found a place that he felt was suitable for him to be alone. He found a building that used to be a training ground for ultras, but now it was abandoned. Taiga entered the area and stayed there, he couldn't hold back his sadness anymore. He began to cry.
Ace held Taro's right shoulder. "It's okay, Taro. But maybe for now, Taiga still doesn't have the courage to tell what happened to him. Also, you shouldn't raise your tone to Taiga about the wound on his body," Ace admonished.
"I understand, Ace-niisan. I'm just worried about Taiga, that's all," Taro replied.
In the midst of his crying, he didn't realize that he wasn't alone. There was a light blue ultra who was there. The teenage blue ultra noticed Taiga's presence, and approached him.
This time Taiga raised his head and looked directly at the blue ultra. The blue ultra observed the condition of Taiga's body. He was shocked when he saw that Taiga's body was covered in wounds and bruises all over his body.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" the ultra asked.
But Taiga still lowered his head. He didn't dare to look directly at his interlocutor. The blue ultra gave him a confused look while raising one eyebrow.
"Hey, why don't you answer me?" Then the blue ultra realized that Taiga was currently sad. "Do you have a problem?"
"What's wrong with your body?" the blue ultra asked with a surprised expression. Taiga felt nervous when asked like that, he thought of an answer that would make sense.
Taiga was silent, then he lowered his head again because he didn't dare to look at the blue ultra anymore. Then Taiga nodded his head limply.
"I… Uh, I mean I fell off the things Zearth-san brought," Taiga replied nervously. But the ultra blue knew that Taiga was lying.
"Don't lie. It's a wound from being beaten by another ultra, right?" he snapped.
Fuma then sat next to Taiga, and allowed Taiga to tell about how he got the wounds on his body.
"It turns out that my guess was right," said the blue ultra. "What happened that you got beaten up like that?" asked the blue ultra.
"It's a long story," Taiga replied.
"Just tell me, I won't tell anyone. But you have to tell me the truth," said the blue ultra. "By the way, my name is Fuma.
"Taiga, my name is Taiga," said Taiga who introduced himself.
It turned out that Taiga got those injuries when he was at the academy. His seniors always looked down on him, and they didn't hesitate to beat him up when Taro or other older ultras weren't around. Taiga's seniors often bullied Taiga and always said that Taiga could never be as great as Taro even though he was his son. This made Taiga feel sad and almost depressed because of his seniors' treatment. Whenever other ultras, including his father, asked about his injury, Taiga never told them the truth because Taiga was afraid that it would make his situation worse.
Fuma was surprised and angry to learn that the ultra seniors at the academy were that rude and cruel to Taiga. But he also felt sorry for Taiga because he was always sad and living in fear because of what his seniors did.
"How about we train together more often? If you become stronger than them, maybe they won't bother you so much anymore," Fuma suggested. Taiga was hesitant at first, but in the end he agreed for him to train with him often.
Since that day, Taiga often went to the abandoned training ground to train with Fuma. As time went by, his fighting skills were honed. In addition to practicing together, Taiga also often confided in Fuma whenever he was beaten by his seniors.
Until one day, when Fuma was waiting in that place, Taiga did not come. This made Fuma feel uneasy. He got a bad feeling about it. So Fuma immediately went to look for Taiga.
After he went around looking for Taiga, he finally found Taiga. But how surprised Fuma was when he found himself finding Taiga in a very, very bad condition.
"TAIGA!" Fuma immediately approached Taiga who was lying limp with wounds that were much worse than his previous injuries. With initiative, Fuma immediately carried Taiga to Silver Cross.
When he arrived at Silver Cross, Taiga immediately received emergency treatment to treat his wounds. Taro, who had gotten the news about his son, immediately went to Silver Cross. In addition, Ace and Zero had also come to Silver Cross.
Fuma quietly overheard the conversation, then he walked over to the three ultras who were currently worrying about Taiga.
"Taiga! What's happening to him?" asked Taro. His face was filled with worry about what had happened to his son.
"We don't know either. When we got the news that Taiga was brought to Silver Cross, he was already in that terrible state," Ace replied.
"At least he was lucky that an ultra brought him here so quickly," Zero said.
Hearing Fuma's statement made Taro sad again and bowed his head.
"Excuse me, are you Taro-san?" asked Fuma.
Taro turned his head towards Fuma. Before he could ask, Zero had already informed Taro.
"He's the ultra who has escorted Taiga to Silver Cross," said Zero.
"I see. Then, thank you for taking Taiga to Silver Cross," said Taro who thanked Fuma.
"That's fine. But perhaps, it would be better if you knew about what Taiga has been through," said Fuma.
"Taro-san? What's wrong?" asked Fuma.
"I've tried asking Taiga about it, but he never told me the truth. Now Taiga is hurt that badly. I've failed twice already," Taro replied.
"What do you mean by twice?" asked Fuma.
"Because I've seen other ultras with injuries as severe as Taiga's, and I didn't immediately suspect that something was wrong with him. I failed to help him solve his problem," Taro replied.
"I happen to be an instructor at the academy. I'll interrogate them as soon as I get there," Taro said. Taro's face looked so calm in response to the situation, but in his heart, he was upset to learn that his son had been the victim of bullying by his seniors.
Fuma was silent and shocked to hear that. Then, he immediately said something to Taro. "Taro-san, I'm sure Taiga's seniors must have something to do with this," Fuma said.
Suddenly Taro was surprised by that, but after Fuma told him about the treatment of Taiga's seniors, Taro finally got the answer to what happened to Taiga.
A few weeks later, Taiga was recovering, but he was still not allowed to do any physical activities. Fuma didn't forget to visit Taiga every now and then.
Taiga smiled with relief, but he also felt that he had inconvenienced Fuma.
"Hi, Taiga. How are you?" asked Fuma when he visited Taiga.
"I'm getting better. But unfortunately, I'm still not allowed to do physical activities. So it looks like we can't train together for now," Taiga replied.
"By the way, your seniors who allegedly did the deed to you have admitted that they did the deed to you and they have been expelled from the academy for their actions that do not reflect the true nature of an ultra. So you don't have to worry about them anymore," Fuma said, telling Taiga about what had happened to his seniors.
"I'm sorry, you're inconveniencing yourself just to defend me and tell the others what they did," Taiga said.
"Ah, that's okay. It's their fault that they treated you like that," Fuma replied. Secretly, Fuma had feelings for Taiga, but he still didn't have the courage to express them.
Unbeknownst to them, an ultra was eavesdropping on their conversation and that ultra was Xenon. Xenon smiled when he heard Fuma and Taiga's conversation.
"But you're actually tough too, because you were able to survive all this time, even though you were always beaten up by your seniors," Fuma said.
"Ah, not really," replied Taiga who was shy when praised by Fuma.
"Their conversation reminds me of the time I talked to Max after he was freed from his former boss," Xenon muttered.

About Ultra Affinity AU
This section only contains information about the AU in "The Path of Hope" (including "He Shouldn't Know" as well as the one shots "Be Strong, Taiga" and "Nightmare").
The AU used in the four stories mentioned so far is the Ultra Affinity AU, an AU where the Ultra race on the planet M78 aka "Land of the Light" also experiences problems that are not much different from those experienced by humans on Earth, such as abuse, bullying and child neglect.
This AU also contains several headcanons and few things which are different from the canon, such as:
Max was originally a subordinate of another Ultra before Xenon.
Max never fought against kaiju underwater. The difficulty of moving underwater is a plausible reason, but Max has other reasons why he never fought underwater, but he never and won't say them.
Taiga in Ultra Affinity AU was a victim of bullying, and that was long before he met Fuma and Titas, long before the Tri Squad team was formed.
Trigger had empathy for Max when he first met him because he understood what it was like to be abusively treated by someone who was much older and experienced and took advantage of their position to abusively treat others.
Z had biological parents, but his biological parents abandoned him when he was 800 years old.
Xenon actually had a father, but his father was an abusive Ultra. It was his father's abusive behavior that caused Xenon to choose to leave him and cut ties with his father.
Tiga and Trigger in Ultra Affinity AU were victims of abusive relationships.
Ultraseven 21 was also once a subordinate of an abusive Ultra. Unlike Max, Seven 21 managed to leave the abusive Ultra who was his superior.
Xenon had actually designed his transformation device, but his abusive father had destroyed it.
Max Galaxy was named after Max as a form of Xenon's sympathy for Max.
Taro hates r4pist so much that he would use Ultra Dynamite on them.
This might be disturbing, but in this AU, Max was forced to sleep with his seniors... in intimate way. Max had to do it, just to avoid getting beaten up by Frost because Frost is an abusive asshole superior and it was Frost's suggestion to Max's seniors to use him as stress reliever.

Ultraman Xenon from Ultra Affinity AU meet Rockstar Freddy from FNAF Affinity AU
Xenon: When my son was skipping the class, I scolded him and then, I told him to go to his bedroom as his punishment.
Rockstar Freddy: That's so weak. I punish my daughter by dragging her to the basement and locked her in there. I know that she is really scared to get locked in the basement, but I don't care. I've been doing that multiple times as her punishment, and I did the same to my partner, Lefty.
Xenon: What in the name of Noa! That's not how to treat your child and partner! I know if I punished my son for skipping class, but I still think rationally. I won't surprised if your partner would fill a divorce paper and you lost the custody of your daughter.
Rockstar Freddy: What?!

Nightmare
Ultra Affinity AU
To understand Max's problems, please read "He Shouldn't Know".
Xenon and Max have been in a relationship for quite some time. Not just as superior and subordinate, but more than that. They both also loved each other, until finally Xenon proposed to Max and in the end they both got married.
Even so, there was one thing that plagued their relationship. The two of them never had sex after they got married. This was because Max had been raped by his former superior. Max used to work as a subordinate of an Ultra named Frost. At first, Max thought that Frost was a good superior, but it turned out that Frost was an abusive superior and did not hesitate to beat Max for even the smallest mistake. Max had also regretted not listening to the warnings of Ultraseven 21 who had worked under Frost.
Frost's actions that have crossed the line have had a negative impact on Max. Frost's rape of Max has left Max traumatized and too scared to have intercourse, even to Xenon whom he loves and trusts, he does not dare to have intercourse after they get married.
Xenon understands Max's traumatized mental state due to Frost's actions and he does not impose his will. Xenon would love to be able to help Max recover from his trauma, but he doesn't know what to do.
But that wasn't the only reason behind Max's fear.
One night, while Max was sleeping with Xenon next to him, Max had a nightmare.
In his dream, Max was pregnant with the child from his marriage to Xenon. He was in a dimly lit room. Even so, Max recognized the room as a place that reminded him of the bad things that had happened to him and caused him trauma.
"Remember me, Max?"
Max recognized the voice. Max turned around and he saw his former boss and the ultra who had raped him, Ultraman Frost.
"But, you told the others about my treatment of you. You are an insolent subordinate. You already made me lose everything and get banished from the Land of Light. Now I will make you suffer even more," Frost hissed.
"You were my loyal subordinate. You always did what I said," Frost said.
But Max still remembered Frost's treatment of him. Max obeyed Frost not out of respect from a subordinate to a superior, but out of fear of Frost's abusive treatment if he didn't obey Frost's orders.
Max was terrified. He wanted to fight back, but Frost had already ambushed him and pinned him to the ground. Frost then felt Max's stomach.
"Is this your and Xenon's child? Ah, I forgot to say this, but I have finished off Xenon. I destroyed your happiness that I started by taking the life of someone who loved you," Frost sneered.
Max was shocked when he heard that Xenon had died after Frost's sudden attack. Frost then pulled out a knife and stabbed Max in the stomach. Max screamed in pain, and the pain intensified as Frost tore into his stomach.
Not stopping there, Frost stuck his hand into Max's ripped stomach, and then forcibly pulled the baby Max was carrying out.
Max watched in horror as he saw Frost holding the baby in his arms and he was unable to move because of the tear in his stomach.
"No… Don't hurt my child," Max said, pleading for his child not to be harmed. But Frost didn't care, he pointed his knife at the poor baby with an evil grin.
"Don't worry, Max. You don't have to worry about this baby anymore," Frost chuckled, he raised his knife high and got ready to kill the baby. Frost was about to kill the baby when Max woke up screaming.
Max woke up from his sleep, breathing heavily as he looked around him. He was still in his bedroom and Xenon was still with him. Max then held his stomach and found that he was still fine.
Xenon who sensed Max's fear woke up, and he immediately hugged Max.
"The same nightmare, Max?" asked Xenon as he hugged Max. Max couldn't hold back his sadness and fear after he had that nightmare, so he ended up crying in Xenon's arms.
After Max calmed down enough, they went back to sleep, with Xenon holding Max. Max, who felt warm and comfortable in Xenon's arms, fell asleep again. He knew that Xenon was by his side and in his heart, he hoped that his nightmare would not become a horrible reality.
"It's okay, Max. I'm here," Xenon said as he stroked Max's head who was currently crying in his arms. "If Frost comes again, I'll make sure he won't hurt you."
"But…, I'm also afraid that…," Max said amidst his sobs.
"I promised to make sure you're safe. I can't lose to that sex offender," Xenon said.
"Promise me that nothing will happen between us," Max said.
Xenon nodded slowly. "Yes, I promise."
