I wrote a small story that just came into my mind and I think everyone should be proud about their name.
I named it The Power of Knowing Your Name's Meaning 💛.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Amelia. She was a bright and curious 5-year-old who loved to play, explore and make new friends. But there was one thing that made Amelia feel sad. Everywhere she went, people would call her by a different name. At school, her friends would call her “Ameli”, "Amalia", "Amee", or "Amlie". When she went to the shop, the shopkeeper would call her “Emelia”. Amelia felt so frustrated that no one could pronounce her name correctly. She started to believe that her name was too difficult and wished she could change it to something easier.
One day, Amelia’s mother noticed that her daughter seemed upset. She asked her what was wrong and Amelia told her about how everyone was calling her by the wrong name. Her mother listened attentively and then sat down with Amelia and explained the meaning of her name. She told Amelia that her name was special and had been passed down from generations. Her name meant “eager” and “strive”. Amelia’s mother explained that her name was a reflection of her bright personality and all the wonderful things she had to offer.
Amelia listened to her mother’s words and felt a sense of pride. She realized that her name was unique and special, and she shouldn't be ashamed of it. From that day on, Amelia proudly told everyone who spelled her name wrong the correct way to say it. She would smile and say, “My name is Amelia , it means ‘shine’ or ‘skillful’”.
Soon, everyone started calling Amelia by her real name and she felt happy and proud of who she was. Amelia learned that the most important thing was to be true to herself and to love and appreciate her own name. 🥰
