Manos threw his hands up in the air as if to show his innocence, looking around at the air ducts in the room. This place was weird as hell, and he had no idea what he did, if anything, to cause all this junk to start flowing out into the room.

“Guh, uhm, do the vents in your offices usually let out all that smoke? And does it always look so ominous?” He start taking some cautious steps away from the vents and towards Thursday. “I didn’t touch anything, I swear!”

“… we’re talking about the big dudes with wings, right?” All his knowledge on this subject came from the occasional blockbuster movie and seeing some big skeletons in a museum when he was a kid. There were a few words in there he had never even heard of before now. Manos nonetheless took a moment to think before replying.

“Damn… It’s easy to say, but I sometimes forget just how fucking long ago all this was. Like, whole species of dinos were rising and falling in between each other… does that make sense?”

"Did you know? “We’ll be careful then. Simple as that.” He gave her paws a squeeze of reassurance, both for her and for himself. The look in his eyes as he looked up at her was a myriad of concern, love, and heartache. It hurt to see her in a state like this.

“I’m not… I’m not just a fair weather friend. There’s scary stuff going on here, but it’s scary for both of us, and I couldn’t just let you deal with all by yourself and…” His voice trailed off a little there.

“Would you still have? Would you still have that I be with you?”

“Well… just because that’s… something that might happen doesn’t mean we can’t try to do what we can about it.” His voice sounded unsure. Not for any lack of conviction, but for not knowing if there could actually be anything done about this.

“This part of ya… it’s not like you’d ever do it on purpose…” Manos pursed his lips, thinking hard. She had brought up a genuine concern, and he was mulling it over quite a bit. What would he do if that happened?

“What is it that you’re scared of happening?”

“…. I’m from Philadelphia?” That was all he could muster up for the moment, looking quiet afterwards. Manos blinked, confused, but starting to get more of a feel for exactly what Doomsday was like. Things probably weren’t going to be super straight forward with her anyhow.

“I mean, I was just on a lunch break before ending up here with you, and I don’t know if I should be more worried about missing my shifts or of where I am.” He looked over their suit, noting how prim and proper they looked while maintaining it.

“How’d you get a name like Doomsday, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“Uh, no, not like that at all.” She’s an interesting one. Manos raised an eyebrow, not sure what was so funny to her, but at least she looked to be in a better mood now.

“Doomsday… okay, gotcha.” Was that first name Dooms, last name Day?

“I don’t think I’d like owning anyone either, so we got that in come at least. Are you from around here? Where are you even from, actually?”

How in the world had it come to this?, thought Eive for the hundreth time. Trapped in a tank, as if she was nothing more than a mere fish! Worst of all was, no one would be coming for her. She was the bastard child of a general from the depths. Due to this, people didn’t like her, and Nis’ien and Hyperion, who actually did care, probably wouldn’t be able to find her, not considering she’d gone exploring on her own. Right now she had no idea where she was being taken nor where she was. So she bid her time. She waited.

The tank was constraining, and she was an entertainment for the crew that had managed to somehow capture her. But oooh, when she got her claws on them. She would make them bleed. She would tear them apart with her fangs and feed them to the sharks for taking her from the sea and her home.

It was during this thought process that she heard a commotion on the ship. It seemed like the crew were nervous for some reason. Perhaps, if they made mistakes, this would be her chance to escape... and to get revenge.
