Character(s): OLC Electra, OLC wrench (briefly)
Relationship(s): none
Triggers: none
Quick summary: Electra isn’t used to sleeping and feels out of wack. Luckily an old friend is there to help
Word count: 1117
It was awfully quiet. Vibrant halls of made up of tiles sat deserted the moon light reflecting off the floor making the room brighter than it was. Faint whirls of restless engines echoed amongst hushed whispers.
Electra sat up, dazed and heavy. His limbs pinned between who he assumed was Krupp and joule. Two weeks into this sleep experiment and Electra still didn’t feel much better. His battery was fully charged but he still felt… restless. Like something was scraping at his frame, crawling along his bolts and making him twitch. What the hell was going on with him. His engine whirled and hummed quietly. Pulling his legs from underneath the soft covers and the components he stood up onto his wheels. 5 in the bed soon became 4 as he made his way out of the room.
As he stepped out into the quiet corridor, Electra stretched, metallic joints creaking slightly. He rolled forward slowly with no real intention. Just movement, slow and steady.
Maybe sleeping wasn’t for him. He never used to sleep before moving to this yard. A foreign concept at best and proof of superiority at worst for him.
“What are you doing awake?” A steady voice spoke, wrench
“I could ask you the same question you know?” He huffed moving to turn around and look
his eyes narrowed. "Couldn't sleep either, huh? Well, looks like we've got that in common then." He crossed his arms over his chest, the metal of his shoulder pads clinking softly.
"So, any particular reason you're interrupting my alone time? Or did you just miss my pretty mug that much?" He rocked back and forth gently on his wheels, impatient.
“You were the one that suggested we sleep like everyone else? Are you missing the night life of the commission?” The quiet corridor stretched out before them, broken only by their faint mechanical hums and clanks before any words were spoken.
he mocking tone in Wrench's voice sat heavy, but he brushed it off with a shrug of his shoulders."Tch, you're one to talk, Wrench," he scoffed, rolling closer to the smaller engine. "I thought you were all about keeping the trains running smoothly and on schedule. Shouldn't you be off fixing something instead of bothering me?"
He reached out and flicked Wrench's front buffer with his index finger, the metal clicking softly. "No, I'm not missing the nightlife of the commission. Trust me, I can get my thrills anytime I want."
“You’re right who am I to question you. But I know you. You can drop the act, I see through you. what’s wrong?”
Wrench was sworn to him, from the day he was built she was there. His repair truck.
His eyes narrowed at Wrench, his brow furrowing. He took a step back, looking at the other engine, annoyed. No one else in the yard dared to speak to him like this.
"What's wrong with you, Wrench? You think you know me so well?" he said, voice dripping with sarcasm. "You don't know shit. I'm fine, so just leave it."
Despite his words, he could feel a strange sensation in his chest, a flicker of something he had almost forgotten. Concern? Possible, but unlikely. He brushed it off, not wanting to dwell on the unfamiliar feeling.
"I meant it when I said you should be out there fixing things instead of bothering me here. So run along now, that's a good little mechanic."
“As you wish”
He watched as Wrench rolled away, the sound of her wheels fading down the quiet corridor. It was moments like these that he questioned his own sanity, his own ability to connect with others. But then again, he had never been one for petty sentiments and emotional attachments. At least, that's what he told himself.
Shaking his head, Elektra turned around and continued his aimless wandering, metal joints creaking with each turn. The corridor seemed to stretch on forever, a neverending maze of cold, lifeless walls. He hated this place, hated the way it made him feel so small and insignificant. And yet, something kept pulling him back, kept him from fleeing to the relative safety of the outdoors.
The commission was safe. Surrounded by his own. Electrics.
Never resting always moving.
He shook his head, trying to clear his mind of the troublesome thought. He needed a distraction, and fast. He looked around the empty corridor, his eyes landing on a door that led to the old storage room. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as an idea formed in his head.
He rolled over to the door quietly, pressing his shoulder against it to push it open with ease. As he stepped into the dark room, he could see the faint outline of a few old crates stacked against the wall. Perfect. It had to be in here.
Elektra rolled over to the crate and pried it open, rummaging through the various old parts and pieces. At the bottom of the crate, he found what he was looking for.
A plush robot. A toy. The first thing he opened his eyes too
Elektra picked up the old plush toy, dusting it off with his l hand. It was a small robot, not unlike himself, but softer, more... innocent. He couldn't remember the last time he had held something so gentle and untainted. A flicker of a long-forgotten memory surfaced, of a time before the yard, before the fame and the endless parade of components. A time when he too had been pure, unspoiled. He held the toy close, a strange sense of nostalgia washing over him. He couldn't recall the last time he had felt so at peace, so content. The soft material seemed to melt into his metal fingers,
He sat down on the cold stone floor of the storage room, cradling the toy robot in his lap. His thumb rubbed the worn fabric, tracing the outlines of the toy's features. In that moment, Elektra felt a flicker of the innocence he had lost long ago, a glimpse into the engine he used to be before the yard had changed him.
But the respite was short-lived. The memories of his past came flooding back, and with them, the weight of his reputation. He couldn't afford to be seen as weak, as vulnerable. He was Electra , the megastar, the electric who had it all. And he couldn't let anyone, not even himself, forget it.
With a sudden movement, Elektra tossed the toy robot back into the crate, burying it beneath the old parts and scrap metal. He stood up, brushing the dust off his thighs and chest
Maybe things would be ok.

My very first Drabble!
Character(s): Pearl, Rusty
Relationship(s): Pearl/Rusty
Triggers: mentions of death/dying, chronic illness
Quick summary: pearl and rusty talk about the inevitable, aka Rusty’s rust is slowly killing him
Word count: 1104
Along the skewed stars, and crying constellations that littered the sky rested a rail road. Two extended tracks running parallel to each other. On the south side of the tracks was a gated yard with a tall fence with twisting metal links, some rusted, others bent and twisted under the weight of feet. A frigid shadow casting along neat rows of sheds all of them grey and still, not a single sound was cast from them. Beyond the yard a flower filled field, the dandelions bobbed from the winds. A young boy, dirt caked beneath his nails and painting his face, beside him a young girl framed in chrome and glass. They laid there.
“It’s so quiet in your yard” the woman spoke, her voice cutting through the skew songs of nightingales.
“Yeah,” the man responded. What more was there to say.
The man sat up to face the sky, the moon, and what little of the sun was starting to peek over the horizon to greet them. The earth coating his hand in dew, dripping from the tips of his finger back down to the ground.
“Morning dew? Already? That means the flowers might start to bloom” she laughed.
“Morning glories?, poppa used to keep some around the yard” he said, his gaze never leaving his hand.
“love, purity, and spiritual enlightenment, they represent all of that, is that why he kept them?”
He laughed “no, poppa wasnt one to focus too much on meaning”
“Then why? Flowers in a freight yard, doesn't seem like the best growing environment.”
“She liked them”
“Oh”
“The stars look beautiful tonight, i like stars” she said her hand pushing against the ground as she met his gaze
“I think they are mighty cool.” he spoke, his eyes turning up to a light grey scape of ever disappearing stars.
“Do you think there's anything out there?”
“Like aliens?”
“Yeah… like do you think maybe there's a planet just like ours?”
“Maybe… I hope the version of me on that planet is as lucky to know you as I am”
“Why would there be two of you? Would there be two of everyone?”
“...well. I. I was trying to be cute”
“Oh. I’m sorry” she said, turning to gaze on the soft features of his face highlighted by the forever glowing sun. “I hope, that version of me isn't quite as dense” her words hung heavy, eyes back at the pink skies above.
“I think you are perfect”
“I was made that way, every feature is designed that way, dull and white. I like your rust.. The gap between your teeth, the hiss off steam. Perfection is boring”
A stifled breeze passed between them lapping at them. Two of a feather, two eyes gleaming up at the sun.
“I can’t be bored of you…. You must not be perfect then.” His words were spoken through a smile.
“I'm sick of the same song and dance, i don't want to come out to the field every single time.”
“I know.. I know”
“I love you” she hissed
“I know that”
“I would follow you if you decided to go”
“You know I have to go, why not just stay.”
“After tonight? that not fair, rusty that's not fair. I want to be with you! I want to grab you and not have to worry about you falling apart”
“I don't want to fall apart. But hey I've been playing with my delt hand for years now. It's too much. I'm ready.”
“But why now. Why lay with me? Then leave? You've given me a taste of what the world could be”
“Pearl”
“No! Let me speak. Let me.. God” a shrill yell
“Take a deep breath, Pearl. Ain't no need to get all worked up like this."Stay here, be happy, live your life. Don't let me hold you back any more. Let me go, so you can keep bloom-in' in this here yard” his hand reached up to grab her face, his thumb gently across her cheek
Don't you dare say that! I won't let you give up, not now, not ever!" Pearl cried, gripping Rusty's shoulders tightly, her chrome fingers digging into his metal skin. "You think I can just go on living my perfect, boring life when I've felt what it's like to be loved by you? To feel alive with you?"
"I'm not letting you fall apart” She straddled his lap, pinning him down with her weight and desperation.
“Pearl”
"I know you're scared, and I know you think you're doing the right thing. But you're forgetting that you're not the only one who gets to make choices about our future” One of her hands slid up to cup his stubbly cheek, while the other pressed against his chest, right over his pounding boiler.
"And another thing - you're not going to die on me. I won't allow it. We'll find a way to fix you up, to keep you runnin' strong and whole, just like I know you want to be for me."
Rusty laid back, his chest heaving, he gazed up at the pinkening sky. He could feel Pearl's warmth, her hand still gripping his arm. morning dew, long since evaporated, leaving behind a gentle warmth that seeped into metal skin. He looked at her, taking in the delicate features of her face, the way her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
"Pearl, my sweet little wildflower... I know this ain't fair to you."
“So you're just going to let yourself die? Fight god damn it fight!”
"I... I ain't doing this to die, Pearl! Fuck, don't you think I'm scared shitless? Don't you think I'm terrified of what might happen out there?” He surged to his feet "But goddammit, I'm tired of being scared! Tired of waking up every goddamn day, hurting and aching and wondering when my body's gonna give out on me!"
“I don't want you to go”
“Pearl... don't make this harder than it already is.”
Along the colors, and mourning doves that littered the trees rested a rail road. Two extended tracks running parallel to each other. On the south side of the tracks was a gated yard with a tall fence with twisting metal links, most rusted, others bent and twisted under the weight of feet. neat rows of sheds all of them grey, the sounds of chimes and hushed whispers. Beyond the yard a flower filled field, the dandelions bobbed from the winds. A young boy, dirt caked beneath his nails and painting his face, beside him a young girl framed in chrome and glass. They laid there.

✨INTRO POST✨
Hello! You can call me Mina I guess . This blog is an excuse to post some of the creative writing and fiction pieces I’ve written about starlight express 🚂⭐️
This blog is mostly for my own personal growth as a writer. I’m going to try and post some kind of Drabble single every day! Of course life will most likely get in the way so that’s why I put almost daily. Like I said before these aren’t for anyone else’s enjoyment but my own! But if you do like a story I wrote feel free to show it some love ❤️
I will be open for requests!
I have the right to refuse any request! Also if you request don’t expect it to be immediately at the top of my writing chart. I am only human. No full out nsfw requests. Normal romance stuff is fine but nothing beyond heavy petting is getting written or posted on this blog!
Enjoy my work or don’t :3
