I get your points @yubai, and honestly I do understand your points but I'd like to counterpoint them a bit.

People don't draw frisk with small eyes. It's exclusively closed. It's not even a big eyes vs small eyes thing, it's a 95% of fanart draws frisk with closed eyes that seeing them with any open eye shape is so hard and few and far between that i have to scroll SO far to even find anything decent with open eyes.

And the thing is, most of the time when I see people draw Frisk with open eyes, they're comparing frisk to chara and perpetuating that lie about the genocide run that Chara is the mastermind and murderer. as if the player didn't choose that themself

And the other thing is... sometimes it's accompanied by the yellow skin. A stereotype of Asians is that they have yellow skin and small/squinted eyes. Yes, frisks eyes are closed, but it's still very similar in the canon art and just because they tweak it a bit doesn't make it still feel rooted in those stereotypes. yeah they also don't have any canon race but no one in Undertale does. but people have pointed out the similarities to the stereotype visually.

Also, unless you're headcanoning them as blind and they don't use their eyes to see or something, you're limiting their expression types. You don't get to see the sparkle in their eyes when they're excited or the terrified, wide eyes at things like the true lab or something. no side eye glare at someone with a matching pout. the -_- expression is so plain and it feels like... wrong

this is already long so tldr i can see ur point but it's everywhere and there's little art with frisk with actual eyes. like... they don't have to be big anime cutesy eyes to be open frisk eyes.

again, 95% of fanart doesn't draw frisk with their eyes open at all, unless it's geno route, and it feels very... Off. and also it's repetitive and boring at this point. like draw them with different shaped eyes, try our different eye colors, draw different expressions besides -_- or ^‿^

I'm not Asian so I can't say if any Asians feel the same, but from what I see it as (especially with the yellow skin) it's... disturbing. Canonically they're yellow and have small/squinted/closed eyes. And people draw them similarly. A lot of people do avoid drawing them with yellow skin, which is nice, but they still draw them with closed eyes.

Why? Is it to make them look "more like frisk"? I think their shirt color should distinguish them. Also, some of y'all change their hair and skin drastically, so it's probably not an accuracy thing.

Just... Please, please draw them with open eyes more. I'm begging.
