Am I stressed? Mayhaps. I have neither time nor energy to do any recreational things, let alone anything creative. I am chewing wallpaper as we speak, I am burning out in approximately 2-5 business days.

I promise I didn't forget about this tumblr. I actually thought about it a lot, although I ultimate ended up
1.) Procrastinating
2.) Going to a concert
3.) Home alone and cleaning the kitchen
4.) doing everything that was due yeterday, today and tomorrow in one go, giving up on half of it because of lack of time and too busy to post about it.
it was less then ideal, but I have a couple hours now and some more tomorrow to do my remaining two tasks...

Even after @lahonquefrancaise tagged me in that helpful post I ended up doing.... Nothing. 😐.
I made a pretty action plan now, adapting it to me needs a little and I'll chip away at it now. Luckily nothing is overdue (yet) but I do hope it doesn't come to that...

Before and after. I think I'll just take the sticker off as soon as something is done. Maybe i can make a similar, more generic template to make the planning process more efficient next time

I actually haven't! Thank you for thinking of me! This might really help me thanks!!
How to Handle Having TOO MUCH To Do
So let’s say you’re in the same boat I am (this is a running theme, have you noticed?) and you’ve just got, like, SO MUCH STUFF that HAS to get done YESTERDAY or you will DIE (or fail/get fired/mope). Everything needs to be done yesterday, you’re sick, and for whatever reason you are focusing on the least important stuff first. What to do!
Take a deep breath, because this is a boot camp in prioritization.
Make a 3 by 4 grid. Make it pretty big. The line above your top row goes like this: Due YESTERDAY - due TOMORROW - due LATER. Along the side, write: Takes 5 min - Takes 30 min - Takes hours - Takes DAYS.
Divide ALL your tasks into one of these squares, based on how much work you still have to do. A thank you note for a present you received two weeks ago? That takes 5 minutes and was due YESTERDAY. Put it in that square. A five page paper that’s due tomorrow? That takes an hour/hours, place it appropriately. Tomorrow’s speech you just need to rehearse? Half an hour, due TOMORROW. Do the same for ALL of your tasks
Your priority goes like this:
5 minutes due YESTERDAY
5 minutes due TOMORROW
Half-hour due YESTERDAY
Half-hour due TOMORROW
Hours due YESTERDAY
Hours due TOMORROW
5 minutes due LATER
Half-hour due LATER
Hours due LATER
DAYS due YESTERDAY
DAYS due TOMORROW
DAYS due LATER
At this point you just go down the list in each section. If something feels especially urgent, for whatever reason - a certain professor is hounding you, you’re especially worried about that speech, whatever - you can bump that up to the top of the entire list. However, going through the list like this is what I find most efficient.
Some people do like to save the 5 minute tasks for kind of a break between longer-running tasks. If that’s what you want to try, go for it! You’re the one studying here.
So that’s how to prioritize. Now, how to actually do shit? That’s where the 20/10 method comes in. It’s simple: do stuff like a stuff-doing FIEND for 20 minutes, then take a ten minute break and do whatever you want. Repeat ad infinitum. It’s how I’ve gotten through my to do list, concussed and everything.
You’ve got this. Get a drink and start - we can do our stuff together!

I sort of ended up not doing much of anything this week. I needed the recuperation, but this also means I am entering the weekend with a 12 item laundry list, with ¾ of the items being due by Tuesday. This week and every week the dreaded Tuesday... Luckily I only have one item on my schedule on monday, meaning I'll be able to do something then should need be, but I'd rather not. I hope I can just... Do most of it today and tomorrow so I have a free Sunday and a light Monday.
I think I might stay at uni for a while to do some work before I even get home.

So for the longest time I have been in Huawei jail, being unable to use Google services including play services and calendar, maps... (but also YouTube and my phone doesn't allow Firefox....) All of that jazz on my phone. Now I finally *finally* managed to sync my calendars. Hopefully fewer of my appointments and assignments will fall through the cracks now.

After a more or less relaxing holiday (reformation day) I am back at uni, catching up on homework. (I am kidding I stared blankly at the screen and tried not to fall asleep. I felt awful all day, bt I managed to at least get a picture that's a little aesthetic....)

I spent some time studying in a cafe the other day and turned out to be really productive. I might repeat that, but for my current assignment I need access to Photoshop and illustrator, so studying at home it is.

Yesterdays study session involved no actual content and didn't last long enough to melt the uppermost layer of my candle. I did however save all the dates and requirements in my black notebook (I have many, many active notebooks...) on my notebook. All in all a partial success.

Did I already forget about this? Maybe... Well, not entirely. The Semester is picking up slowly and since today, tuesday, will be rather busy, I will start with homework and readings on wednesday.
In other news, I now have uni wifi on my tablet so organising everything will be a lot more digital now.

I still haven't gotten any real homework, but I'm glad I managed to do something everyday (except Tuesday) to ease myself into the habit of doing something every day. Tomorrow I would usually have a tutorial, but since the lecture didn't have any actual input yet, I get a long weekend. Maybe I'll do some writing, maybe I'll clean a bit. Overall this was a satisfying week.

Late night study session. Maybe not so late night, and maybe not much studying as writing down all the requirements for all the courses I've had so far, but you know what I mean.
I am also trying the scented candle thing, where I light a particular scent of candle when I study so I can eventually pavlov myself into studying... Maybe it'll work. It's only been three days so I can't say much. Yet.

I have yet to find a satisfying set up for my desk, but I am in the process of finding a colour coding scheme for my subjects and writing down the contact information of all my lecturers.

With the semester starting tomorrow I've been looking for a new strategy to keep myself on top of uni work and this is it.
This blog is mostly for myself. I am trying to keep myself motivated to do my reading and keep up with homework by making it aesthetic and cute. I think pretending that this is going to be seen by different people who might notice I'm not keeping up with my work will inspire me to keep going.
This is somewhat of an experiment. I can't guarantee I will keep this up, but my hope is, as I said, that the performativity of it all will keep me going. And who knows, maybe the techniques I found are useful to other people as well as myself.
Posts with my materials, note taking strategies, and, of course, aesthetics are to follow, as well as a guide to my colour coding scheme.
