whenever I see those posts about amazing food in the most run down places (especially the pizza restaurants run by the mob) I’m always like ‘nah it can’t be that good can it?’
and then I remember the hut I went to in Vietnam with plastic tables and chairs, a corrugated iron roof that was so low you couldn’t stand up and smaller than a bathroom while the chef sat with his shirt off, drinking a beer while fishing ingredients out of a broken fridge and it was the best fucking food I've ever had
