Digimon tri aired in literally every English-speaking country that isn't the UK. We're still watching that shit illegally. I guess that's half the battle, really: America has the bandaionline website where they can get stuff that Bandai themselves have price-inflated by almost double, Asia has, well, Bandai Asia... but the UK isn't even confirmed for the new Tamagotchi remakes, let alone anything remotely touching Digimon that isn't playstation games. Anybody who hadn't found the semi-rare tri discs in HMV could think that it didn't even exist.

Being from the UK sucks sometimes. What do you have against us, Bandai??? WHAT DID WE DO WRONG???

The reason for this is that, well, I can’t really support it if it doesn’t want me to!

The old V-pets are expensive (although I have to buy one eventually for spite reasons. I am that guy), I don’t own a PS4 for their newest games, the 3DS games are Japan exclusive, and I couldn’t even download Digimon links because it took up too much space. Over a gigabyte. That’s crazy! The last English Nintendo Digimon game was worlds dawn and dusk, which are difficult to find, and any other merch is either inch-tall figurines, or hyper-expensive LCD electronics.

To put it into perspective, for the V-pet ver. 20th, you’re looking at £60. For a ver. 1, you’re looking at £30-£50. For a Digivice ver. 15th, you’re paying out the ass, at like £150. For a Digivice 1999, which are really rare, it’s between £70-£100. I’ve seen Taichi’s goggles on eBay, an item I would snap up in an instant if I had the chance. £120.

Their most expensive item recently was the limited edition Beelzebumon leather jacket at… wait for it…

£3000. Bandai thought it would be a good idea to market a jacket at £3000.

On the flip side, the least expensive electronic is the D-terminal from the year 2000, at about £10-£20, but it’s pretty much useless without any digivices or V-pets to connect to it, so that would first go back to picking up an expensive V-pet.

And just to ice the cake, this isn’t even their fault, but the Japanese price for a Digital Monster ver. 20th: £25. Twenty-five fucking quid. They’re taunting us. I swear.

And it’s an easy fix! Literally all that needs to happen is, surprise, international marketing. Bandai is a huge global company, they can afford to at least try.
