I wish I could personally thank Mark and Steven and Sue. I would tell them how appreciative I am of Sherlock, and how grateful I am that I got to experience their creativity. Because of this show, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet friends I can’t imagine not being in my life. Because of this show, I am inspired to write, to create, to fulfill my own dreams. Mostly, I’m just thankful for getting to be a part of something so brilliant. 

At current, I feel sad about how fandom’s react to creators. Opinions are great. Opinions are not an issue for me, especially when they progress my thinking. I feel disgusted with how Mark and Steven are being treated via public forum, and I feel really disappointed that the visceral reaction is to publicly condemn a show because it didn’t go the way someone wanted. I understand the importance of what a show can bring to someones life in many forms that exceed entertainment. I won’t take that away from anyone. The issue is how demanding fans can be and how truly scary it can get. I’m kind of at a loss for words with how to move forward. I love stories. I support the stories writers want to tell. I would never in my wildest dreams treat people with disrespect because I did not get my way. 

Remember when we all stayed up late or woke up early to see what the hearse message said? I felt like I was a part of something bigger. Remember the cons and how kind everyone was, how you made new friends and met your idols? They did that for you. Do you remember the set photos, the theories, the hilarious fan moments, the fics, the graphics, the cosplays, the gifs and the fan art? You created those beautiful things, and if you didn’t create them, you supported them. That’s what fandom has always been about. Try not to forget those things and how they made you feel, because those are the things that matter. 

Anyway, I love Sherlock. If this is the end, I’m happy. If it’s not the end, I’m lucky.

Thank you so much for making my dash a bit more bearable tonight. I can't believe that people are pissed of because Johnlock didn't happen. Tumblr now thinks that for something to be good it must end with a gay relationship or else it's discriminatory and terrible

YES my thoughts exactly. I was so pissed off at the community here, so I left. I decided to look through the Sherlock tag after watching s4, expecting to see nice gifs, edits and fan theories. But this is just a flaming mess. Why can't we appreciate the show, as a show. The truth is that I'm problematic, you're problematic, EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET is problematic. There is no perfect show, and there is no perfect person. The tumblr community likes to dissect every little thing just to prove something is problematic, and I still don't know why. It's just a bloody show in the end, Mofftiss can do whatever they want with it. I hate that the "queerbaiting accusations" kinda discredit the acting, scriptwriting, set design, cinematography etc. of the show. I prefer watching Sherlock as a murder mystery show loosely based on the novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and enjoying the good aspects of it instead of angrily ranting about the minor flaws.

Thoughts on the tumblr Sherlock fandom

oh god now I remember why I left tumblr. Honestly dislike a large part of the SHERLOCK Tumblr community. The show is now something you should intricately dissect just to prove that it's somehow problematic. IT'S A SHOW, IT'S FICTION. Mofftiss have the Creative liberty to take the show in any direction they like. Why can't we appreciate this show as what it's supposed to be, A CRIME MURDER MYSTERY SHOW. If you watch the show just to see John and Sherlock as a romantic couple, I'm honestly disappointed.

like all this fandom ever does is complain because there wasn’t enough johnlock in an episode instead of focusing how goddamm good this last episode was? (and this entire season for that matter)

How could anyone have hated tonight’s episode of Sherlock?

That episode had made me feel so much more emotion than the entire series had as a whole since it even started. It was a very emotionally fulfilling episode and it left me teary eyed at the end because of how moved I felt.

Moffat and Gatiss did a fantastic job with this season and I’m so glad I got to experience it.
