I'm rereading a fanfic which I really liked two years ago, and I noticed how this character seemed to often call things 'immature' or 'mature', with 'immature' being his version of an insult, and 'mature' being a compliment. I began to think about the concept further. I think it is fine if you personally are in a rush to be 'mature', but seeing others as below you because you believe they possess 'childish' interests is actually quite immature.
