I've spent the past week knitting up 5 of these market bags. This project has been a successful stash bust and helped me create some stock for my etsy shop (I'll have a shop update in may!)
This is my own design and I have a pattern on ravelry and etsy if anyone is interested!

A snapshot of my hand knitted sock collection! I love knitting socks and have many more, but these are some of my most worn pairs :)

Hey y'all! Long time, no post. I've made some projects that I just honestly hated and didn't feel like sharing and I also haven't been knitting or crocheting as much because of school.
But I'm finally back with a finished project. This is a self drafted tank top inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. The yarn I used was awesome, it's cascade pandemonium and I highly recommend it as a summer fiber, it's very light, soft, and breathable and not ropey at all.

I just finished another pair of socks. I haven't been knitting or crocheting much lately, so I haven't had anything to share. But I thought I would share my favorite way to knit socks!
I always knit cuff down and usually do a German short row heel.
CO 64 sts (I usually just do long tail cast on)
Work 10 rounds of 2脳2 ribbing
Continue working in stockinette until the leg of the sock is 3 inches.
Work a German short row heel with a 10/12/10 split
Work the foot of the sock until it is 1.75 inches or 4.5 cm shorter than the desired length, for me this is 7.75 inches.
Work a basic toe by decreasing every other round until you have halved your stitch count (32 sts left for me) then decrease every round until 12 sts are left. For the decreases, I recommend placing an extra marker at the halfway point and decrease on either side of each marker (4 sts decreased). You will alternate ssk and k2tog, starting with ssk at the beginning of the round.
Kitchener the toe shut and weave in you ends!
Hopefully this recipe makes sense and is helpful:)

It's finally done!!! My giant long term project is done.
This is the optic blanket by purl soho, and I've been working on it since December 3, 2023. The finished blanket is 60 by 40 inches, and I am very relieved to have this off the needles.
The project took somewhere between 85-95 hours with each square taking 3.5 to 4 hours from cast on to cast off.

This is my summer nights cardigan, pattern by typical bliss. I knitted this in the beginning of 2023, and I LOVE it. It's a great closet staple for me and goes well with everything. It鈥檚 not the most fun project because it鈥檚 all 2 by 2 ribbing, but I think the end result is worth it!

I finished 2 more squares on my blanket and a sock this weekend!
The sock is just improvised 2脳2 ribbing, i just wanted something easy and small to knit to take with me during the day.

I finished my fingerless gloves! This was a quick and practical project for me because I wear fingerless gloves on my walks to class!
I wrote up a rough recipe for these since they were improv. It's also on my ravelry project page.
CO 50 sts in black
Each stripe is 2 rounds
Knit until 4.5 inches long (or desired length up to wrist)
Start increases for thumb: increase every other round for 18 rounds, 18 sts increased
Inc Round: K1, M1L, Knit until last st, M1R, K1
After all increases have been worked, take 18 sts off of needles and place on hold on scrap yarn.
CO 4 sts, replace st marker after these new sts.
Continue working in stripes until desired length
Thumb:
Put on hold sts back on needles & pick up 4 sts along edge. Knit until desired length.
Link to project page!

These are my shearwater socks, I followed a free pattern for these, and I love the texture pattern. The yarn is Knit Picks Muse Hand Painted in the Strength Tonal colorway. This sock yarn is great, I have worn these with shoes and the socks have gone through the washing machine & dryer with no issues.

This past weekend was quite productive for knitting!
I'm up to 14/24 on the optic blanket. After some measuring, I realized I only want 24 squares for 60" 脳 40" blanket, so I'm past tge halfway point!
I also finished fingerless glove number one, I've been loving this little improv project.

I casted on something new today! This is the start of some fingerless gloves. I knitted 4.5 inches today, I had a lot of time because my classes were canceled and a 7 hour study day requires lots of breaks :) I'm just improvising these and have no idea what my next step is!

This was the gift I made for my mom for Christmas! I call it a walking set because it is meant to keep someone warm on a walk. There is an ear warmer headband and fingerless gloves, the desert winter isn鈥檛 usually cold enough to warrant full gloves or mittens. She loved them and has really enjoyed using them on her nightly walks with the dogs!

I am up to 10 squares on my optic blanket now, with the 11th square underway (not pictured). I'm really struggling with this project because it's so big and every square takes so long. I think I might start having this be my weekend project, where I only work on it over the weekend and work on smaller/quicker projects throughout the week. I think my goal will be to finish this project by the end of March, which is pretty reasonable!

My first finished object of 2024! I started this on December 29, 2023 and finished it on January 4, 2024. I improvised this sweater based on a picture that's been in my pinterest for forever. The ends were still out in the picture, but I have now woven them in. I'm really happy with the end result!

I crocheted this cute chunky dino a while ago and haven't gotten around to writing up a pattern or making other versions like I planned to. Oh well, I'll get to it someday :)

Here is the last of my 2023 projects and the two 2023 WIPs I will be taking with me into 2024. Ideally, I would have zero WIP鈥檚 but two really isn鈥檛 bad. I made 72 finished objects and 74 projects thus past year,I also released 10 patterns! As far as goals for 2024, I鈥檓 trying not to make very many. I feel like I let my perfectionism rule my hobbies this past year, and one way I am trying to prevent this is by not having a rigid structure or goals to follow. I feel that sometimes I over did it or pushed myself too hard, when my hobbies should simply be for fun. I鈥檓 really looking forward to the coming year and I鈥檓 hoping to make more items that I can get more use out of and that suit my style. It鈥檚 honestly very difficult for me to put into words all that I hope for this coming year, and I鈥檓 going to do my best to relax and not be such a control freak or perfectionist in all aspects of my life.
Thank you all again for following me, tumblr is by far my favorite platform, and I鈥檓 so glad to be a part of this fiber art community!
