Unsympathetic October Prompt 6: Mind Control
(hhh I should probably be doing homework but I was too busy to do the prompt yesterday and I want to keep doing unsymptober-)
Unsympathetic Virgil, Unsympathetic Emile mention, victim Patton, toxic Moxiety, healthy intrulogical mention, manipulation
Virgil smiled at the boy in blue in front of him. “So what do you say? Will you go out with me?”
The boy, Patton, had been Virgil’s best friend for the last four years. They had met through mutual friends, and Virgil had been crushing on him for the last few weeks. Patton fidgeted with the hoodie wrapped around his shoulders. If they started dating, that would be the first thing to go, Virgil decided.
“Well, uh…” Patton said, smiling awkwardly. “I love you so much, I really do, but… just as a friend. I don’t really feel romantic attraction, you know that. But, maybe we could be closer friends? We could hang out more if you want!”
Virgil’s smile dropped into a scowl. “You can’t just use ‘I don’t feel romantic attraction’ as an excuse. Logan doesn’t feel romantic attraction either and he’s dating Remus. You can still date me.”
“But… Virgil, I…” Patton looked down again, and stopped talking as Virgil spoke again.
“Come on, Patton. You don’t want to disappoint me, do you? I’ve liked you for so long now. I really want to date you. It would make me so, so happy if you did.”
Patton bit his lip. He knew what Virgil was like when he was upset. “Ok. Ok I can try to be your boyfriend. It might not turn out very well though….”
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll be a great boyfriend. But you’ve really got to stop spending so much time online. It’s rotting your brain with all these things like 'not being able to date when you’re aromantic’. And take off that hoodie. It looks weird.”
Patton choked back a cry. “But-”
“You don’t want to make me sad, do you?” Virgil asked. Patton shook his head quickly and removed his sweatshirt. He looked pained as he handed it over to Virgil. Virgil tossed the sweatshirt over his shoulder and Patton cringed. “Oh come on, you don’t need that piece of crap. Now come on, boyfriend, let’s go and make out or something.”
Looking like he might burst into tears at any moment, Virgil dragged Patton along with him. He knew Patton wouldn’t leave him. Virgil knew it would hurt Patton too much emotionally to leave someone as important to him as Virgil.
Virgil’s phone burned in his pocket, reminding him of what he would have done if Patton had rejected him. Emile’s number was open on his phone and just one quick call away. He would have been happy to change Patton’s mind. But there was more than one way to control someone’s mind, and Virgil knew that you needed to control Patton’s emotionally. Virgil smiled. He would enjoy hanging out with his new boyfriend.

Unsympathetic October Prompt 15: Monster
Eyyy look I’m finally doing a prompt again-
U!Remus, Victim Patton, Roman, and Virgil. (I’m not sure what to tag, so I’ll let you tag it if you want, Mod Rose?)
Remus grinned at the cowardly figures below him. Logan was too boring to catch and he hadn’t been able to find Janus, so Remus had just captured Roman, Patton, and Virgil. The three men were tied up on the floor. Roman was unconscious.
He clapped his hands together, looking at his victims. “You’re all here, yippee! It’s time to play one of my favorite games! And don’t worry, it’s not knife monopoly this time!” He let out a maniacal laugh. “And for goody-two-shoes Patton, don’t worry, it won’t be sexual! Unless you want it to be~”
Patton, whose mouth was taped over, shook his head frantically. “Too bad,” Remus said. “But you can’t refuse to play this game! If you refuse I’ll be upset, and you don’t want to see me upset.”
“Eeny, meeny, miny, mo! Ro-ro, you’re first! That means you’ll be the captive prisoner! And let’s see… Virgil, you’ll have to save him! Patton, you can be Virgil’s loyal steed! And I’ll be the monster!”
Remus’s grin grew wider until it was almost inhuman. And suddenly, it was as Remus transformed right in front of them. He used his shapeshifting powers to turn into a large monster, with spikes on his tail, long claws, pointy horns, and shiny, sharp fangs. Virgil looked like he was having a panic attack, but Remus didn’t care. In fact, it would just make the fear more real.
“I brought in some armor for you, Virgil!” Remus tried to giggle, but in his monster form, it sounded more like a growl. “I bet you’ll look real sexy with it on! And now, Patton, transform into a horse!”
Patton still had tape on his face, but Remus yanked it off so he could speak. “I uh, I don’t know if I can. I’ve never really tried before.” He flinched as Remus swiped a claw at him.
“Then try! It won’t be a fun game without a steed!~ I’ll give you ten seconds, and then you and Virgil need to start playing along.” Patton quickly concentrated, and his lower half began to twitch. He began to transform into a horse, but the transformation stopped at his chest.
“You’re a centaur,” Remus said with a scary frown. “I suppose that’ll do. And it looks like Virgil managed to put some of the armor on, even though he’s shaking like my naked ass! Time to play!”
As Roman laid tied up on the floor, Remus lunged at Virgil. He barely managed to duck away from the sharp claws, and he grabbed a shield from the pile of armor. Remus hadn’t put any weapons in the pile, so Virgil could only defend himself with the shield.
Remus saw Patton glance at the door. He let out a growl and swiped at his horse backside. “Where are you going, Pony? I haven’t even had the opportunity to play with you yet.” Patton yelped as Remus’s claws dug into his side, and blood pooled out of the wound. Remus swung his tail into Patton’s head, and the centaur was knocked unconscious. He fell unceremoniously onto the floor.
Remus glanced over at Virgil and saw him untying Roman’s bonds. “You let Patton distract me! Clever!” He swiped at Virgil, who let out a small yelp and ducked. The anxious side was shaking so much Remus was surprised he was still standing.
“Oh Virgil,” Remus purred, “I missed our fun. It wasn’t the same when you left. I’m so glad I can play with you again.” He crashed his tail into Virgil and knocked him to the other side of the room. Virgil tried and failed to stand up.
Remus walked over to Virgil. “Do you give up yet, Virgie-poo?” He held a claw under Virgil’s chin, holding his head up so he was eye-to-eye with Remus.
“Y-you’re a monster,” Virgil choked out. He coughed and a few drops of blood came out.
“That’s the point! It’s the fun of the game! And my little knight, do you surrender?”
Virgil glared at Remus, but as he was too hurt to do anything, he was forced to nod. A malicious smile grew on Remus’s lips. “Good! Now the real fun can begin!~”

Unsympathetic October Prompt 20: Nightmares
U!Virgil, victim Patton, warning for gaslighting, violence, torture kinda?, spiders, and implied death sorta???
Patton sat on the couch, watching cartoon characters flicker around the screen. In his cat sweatshirt cuddling his favorite stuffed frog, he felt content for once. It was nice to get sucked into a fantasy world, far, far away from his own. There, his struggles didn’t exist. He didn’t have to worry about anything while watching cartoons.
He felt a sharp poke in his shoulder, and Patton flinched so hard that his frog stuffie fell onto the floor. He quickly picked it up and hugged it as Virgil gave him a smirk. Virgil picked up the TV remote from the couch and turned off the cartoons. Patton let out an inaudible whimper, but he didn’t say anything to Virgil.
“God, you’re jumpy today. Toughen up.” He gave Patton a smack on the shoulder, and Patton tried his best not to flinch again. He didn’t want to be touched right now, especially not by Virgil. But Virgil wouldn’t care if Patton told him that. He never did.
“I came to talk to you about what happened today,” Virgil told Patton, sitting down next to the nervous man on the couch. “You know you’re not supposed to come to the meetings any more. You don’t help Thomas out, you just make things worse. I don’t mean that in a rude way, Patton, it’s just the truth. So why did you come to the meeting today?”
Virgil’s voice was calm, but Patton knew how quickly it could change. He tried to push the panic away from his mind and spoke. “I’m so sorry, Virgil, I know I shouldn’t have come, but Thomas looked so worried when he didn’t see me again and I just wanted to reassure him, I promise I didn’t try to help at all, I tried to stay quiet enough, I didn’t want him to be worried-”
“I could have handled it,” Virgil hissed, interrupting Patton’s ramble. “I could have made up something again. He would have believed me. And this doesn’t excuse your actions.”
“I-I know, Virgil, I’m sorry, I promise I won’t do it again, I dont want to hurt anyone-”
“I think you do!” Virgil slapped Patton across the face, and he whimpered. “You’re supposed to be Morality! Instead, you’re just Cowardice! Thomas is just better without you meddling and messing everything up.”
Patton clung to his frog stuffed animal, afraid of what was coming next. He’d seen what Virgil had done to other disobedient sides. He’d experienced it before. But something in Virgil’s expression told him this time would be even worse.
Virgil grabbed Patton by the arm and yanked him up to a standing position. “Come on. Thomas might see you if you stay in the living room. Let’s go somewhere more… secluded.”
Patton gulped and let Virgil drag him to the basement. Patton tried to avoid that part of the house if possible. It gave him the creeps, and Virgil liked to hang out there a lot. Inside the basement was an old wooden chair with rope slung around it. Virgil let go of Patton’s arm and nodded expectantly at the chair. Shaking, Patton sat down. Virgil tied Patton’s legs to the chair, but before he tied up his arms, Virgil snatched his stuffed frog. Patton let out a small cry.
“You don’t deserve to keep this piece of garbage,” Virgil said, tossing it carelessly away. Patton felt tears start to fall down his face. The comfort that the frog brought him was the only thing getting him through the guilt and the pain.
Virgil finished with the rope, and he crouched over in front of Patton so they were looking face-to-face. “You know what’s coming next. You knew what would happen as soon as you decided to show your face in that dumb fucking meeting.” Virgil cupped Patton’s face in his hands, and Patton did his best not to yank his head as far away from his hands as possible.
Patton shivered as the nightmares traveled from Virgil’s hands to Patton’s brain. A giant spider, two giant spiders, an army of giant spiders, coming towards him. Logan and Roman were next to him, and the spiders pieced them first with their long, sharp feet. Logan and Roman fell to the ground, and Patton tried to run, but his legs wouldn’t work, why wouldn’t his legs work-
The horrible vision cleared for a few seconds as the light turned off and the door closed, silencing Virgil’s laugh. Still tied to the chair, the nightmares returned, and Patton knew he would be in for a long night.

Unsympathetic October Prompt 23: Tears
U!Remy, victim Logan, some victim Roman, bullying warning, physical violence, injuries, blood, broken bones
Logan walked through the hallways, doing his best to keep a low profile, especially after the incident the other day. His black eye still hurt, but at least the other punches hadn’t seem to leave any bruises.
“There he is!” a voice called out through the school. Logan stifled a groan. “The man who can’t cry! What a legend!” Remy sipped from his cup of coffee and walked over to Logan, slinging an arm around him. Logan shrugged off his arm and tried to ignore the popular boy. Unfortunately, Remy’s hoard of followers were there as well, crowding around the two of them.
“I can’t believe after everything that happened yesterday, you still didn’t cry, not once! Did you even cry when you got home?” Logan shook his head and tried to walk away. Two kids stepped in front of his path and gave him simultaneous grins. He stopped, sighed, and turned around to face Remy.
“I don’t cry. I never have. It’s not a big deal. Now please leave me be, I have classes go get to.”
“Ha! So funny that you think I can’t make you cry! Don’t worry, Logan, I’m still trying out some new things. I will make you cry.” His jovial expression vanished, and his arm snaked out, punching Logan in the side. Logan gave out a small grunt, but didn’t retaliate. Remy’s friends would be on him in an instant if he tried to punch him back.
Remy’s face turned into a snarl. He uncapped his coffee mug and splashed Logan in the face with the contents inside. Logan winced at the hot liquid burning his cheeks, but luckily none had gotten into his eyes. Remy slammed Logan back into a locker, and his back throbbed.
“Still no tears yet?” Remy leered. Logan tried to hurry away, but two kids grabbed him by each arm and dragged him towards Remy. “I’m not done,” he growled, punching Logan in the mouth. Logan could feel blood start to come from his gums. He tried to kick Remy away, but the two kids holding him kicked him in the shins.
The next blow Remy landed caused Logan to fall onto the floor. Remy kicked him a couple of times, including in the balls. Logan groaned, but still no tears came.
Logan heard a gasp. “My god, Logan, are you ok?” Roman. Logan’s closest, and only, friend at the school. The kids surrounding Logan started to push Roman away, but Remy interrupted them.
“No, don’t push him away. Bring him to me. I have a plan.” He grinned menacingly, and his dark sunglasses made him look even more threatening. The kids grabbed Roman before he could protest and dragged him towards Remy. “Well well. Seems like Logan has a friend. What’s your name, babes?”
“I’m Roman, and you better let me and my friend go or you’ll regret it!” Roman said. Remy laughed.
“Oh I’ll let you go. But only if Logan here cries for me.”
“But Logan doesn’t cry, never has,” Roman said with a frown.
“If he knows what’s good for him, he will now.” Remy punched Roman in the jaw, and he cried out with pain. Remy’s fist then flew to Roman’s nose, and Logan could hear a sickening crack from where he laid on the floor. He tried to get up, to do something to save his friend, maybe get a teacher, but his legs wouldn’t work. He was still in too much pain, and even lifting his head upright took too much work.
Logan heard Roman cry out as Remy punched him, again and again and again. A couple of Remy’s cronies joined in and kicked out at Roman. Logan had never felt so useless in his life. He didn’t care if Remy picked on him. He could take it. But Roman? What was the probability that he’d remain friends with Logan if he ended up with multiple broken bones and a concussion? Would Remy and his friends even leave Roman alive, Logan wondered as Roman fell to the floor.
Logan felt his eyes start to water for the first time in years. One tear fell, and then another, and soon Logan was crying, tears streaming down his face. Remy noticed and stopped attacking Roman.
“Sluts, we did it, Logan’s actually crying! Quick, get out your phones and record it before it stops!” Remy and his friends all pulled out their phones, which only made Logan cry harder. He tried to glance over at Roman, but all he saw was blood.
“Oh, I made sure to leave your friend alive, don’t worry,” Remy told Logan. “I don’t want to get arrested, after all! And I’m sure you won’t report me, will you, Darling?” Logan tried to shake his head, but it refused to move. Remy seemed to get what he was trying to say though.
The bell rang, and Logan let out a sob of relief. The students around him began to grumble and leave, heading off to their first classes. Remy gave Logan one last vicious kick in the side and turned to leave. Before he he got very far, Remy turned around one last time. “See ya, Logan! Can’t wait to see what I can make you do tomorrow!~”

Unsympathetic October Prompt 28 & 29: Unsympathetic C!Thomas and Reunited
(I don’t have enough time to finish the u!c!Thomas prompt on the day but I want to do it so I’m combining it)
U!c!Thomas, victim Remus, enclosed spaces, manipulation
@unsympathetic-october-2020
Remus grinned. It was good to be back with the light sides again. Since Thomas had been repressing him, he hadn’t been able to talk to Logan, Patton, or even his own brother Roman for years. After Virgil had been accepted, Remus hadn’t been allowed to talk to him either. Remus was worried the same might happen between him and Janus too.
Maybe he should try to be accepted too, Remus thought. Helping Thomas didn’t seem like a bad thing, not at all. All he needed to do was tone down his ideas, try to stop his violent tendencies, and attempt to steer Thomas in the right direction. And then he could be with his old friends again!
He didn’t want to pop in unannounced, Remus thought. It could scare Thomas. He needed a game plan if he wanted to do this correctly. He took out his horrifying notebook (which, he thought, he should probably replace if he wanted the others to like him) and began to write down a plan. It took almost 20 minutes, but when he looked back through it, the plan seemed far too gory. He tried again, but with limited success.
Remus began to wonder. If Thomas could summon the sides to him, then maybe if Remus tried hard enough, he could summon someone to help him out. Remus thought hard and long, and soon enough he heard a knock at the door.
“Roman!” Remus cried gleefully. “I was worried you might get stabbed or something! But you made it!”
“Yes, being stabbed would be awful. What can I help you with?” Roman wasn’t much fun, but Remus needed his help.
“I need you to help me write something. A script to say to Thomas, to make him accept me. I want to be a light side like you dorks. That means whale penis,” he continued, and Roman sighed.
“Well, for starters, you can’t say things like that. Thomas doesn’t like it. And for another, why do you even want to be accepted? I thought you liked living as a dark side.”
“Well, since all of you all have been accepted, I’ve been lonely. I’ve missed tormenting you guys. Plus, Thomas is cool, I just wish he wouldn’t reject all of my ideas.”
“Hey, I bet you’ll come up with something that he’ll love. And I’ll help you write a script. But nothing violent or sexual! He won’t like that.”
“Ok, Ro-Bro, whatever you say!” Remus watched his brother scribble down a script, giving him directions here and there for what he wanted to tell Thomas. In an hour, they had written a solid script.
Remus told Roman that he wanted to talk to Thomas alone. Too many people in a room together might make him say too many off-script things. He concentrated, and finally he popped up in Thomas’s living room. He suppressed the overwhelming urge to cry “boo!” and instead went with a harmless “hi Thomas~”
Thomas turned around suddenly. “Oh, it’s you.” His voice was laced with so much contempt that Remus was tempted to ditch the entire project and try to figure out some other way to talk to the light sides. He composed himself and began Roman’s script. He managed to get through it without any inappropriate comments, though he did throw in a few curse words for good measure.
Thomas was silent for a few moments. Remus fought the urge to do something impulsive and stupid. Thomas finally spoke. “You want to be… accepted?”
“Yes. I want to help you and stuff.” He drummed his fingers across his legs to try to calm his nerves as Thomas considered this.
“I… suppose you could add something useful to our conversations. We’ll have a trial run. If you are helpful, then you can be a light side. Agreed?” Remus nodded eagerly. He was excited to finally be reunited with the light sides as an equal once more. Thomas closed his eyes and summoned the other sides one at a time. They popped up one by one, most giving Thomas and Remus confused glances. When Roman showed up, he gave Remus an encouraging thumbs up.
“I’ve decided that Remus could be a light side if he’s helpful in this discussion. I need a new topic for a video. If you come up with a good idea, then Remus can come to more discussions.
"Ooh ooh! I have an idea!” Remus cried. Thomas shook his head.
“You’re not here to give ideas, Remus.” Remus frowned as Thomas continued. “You’re going to be incentive.” Thomas concentrated and snapped his fingers, conjuring a box around Remus. Once the side was encased, the box turned black and began to slowly shrink. The sides all let out gasps, except for Janus and Logan, who tried to reason with Thomas.
Remus heard Thomas shush the others. “Remus will be fine - if you can come up with an idea fast enough.” Remus heard a snap and everything went quiet. He tried to scream, to say anything, but he couldn’t hear anything other than his own voice. Eventually he fell silent and let the box slowly close in on him.
Once he felt almost suffocated, the box opened up, and Remus popped out, sucking in deep breaths of clean air. The other sides whooped, but fell silent as Thomas glared. “That was successful. Remus may be accepted. And he may serve as future incentive for decisions. Congrats Remus, you’ve been reunited with the other sides once more.” Thomas snapped his fingers, and the sides were pushed down and fell into their respective rooms. Remus managed to make eye contact with Roman. He looked shocked, and Remus didn’t blame him. For some reason, Remus remained in the living room. He looked at Thomas.
“I don’t want you to run around anymore by yourself. You’ll stay in here for now on.” Thomas snapped his fingers once again, seeming to think about the movement much less than he had at first. Remus felt the black box close around him once more. He heard Thomas call goodbye, and silence surrounded Remus once more.
