I already miss your dumb face you orange butt head. Siri passed away last night. He had a few rough days and I guess it was just too much for him. I hope you have a really big territory wherever you've gone little guy. Rezi also left me today but in a much better light. Today he left for his new home. He's been starting to show signs of going pinecone (dropsy) but hasn't really... hit it yet so I'm hoping we can pull it back into health. He's been so sick for so long I've wondered if it wouldn't be kinder to let him pass but part of me also thinks he'd want a fighting chance. He'd always be so sad and lethargic but if he knew I was in the room watching him he'd dance for me. Hope you feel better little guy. I'll miss you too.

•Arguing with my mother about the ever increasing size of my tanks because "they're just fine in the small ones" •Friends look at me in pet stores and just kind of groan with the same agony my wallet is about to feel. Again. •Smuggling another fish into the house (and tank. And rocks. Decorations. Et cetera) and realizing I have nowhere in my room to hide another one. •Carting around a 10 gallon tank, rocks, et cetera, for several hours and through several malls and dragging them most of the way across the city because I can't actually drive and I can't afford a taxi because I bought another tank. •Realizing a baby is sick and the world is ending. •You broke the bucket. Twice. Water is heavy and you kind of forgot. •Just kind of getting offended when other people try and offer to take one of your fish because they're so cute and you have so many. •Repeating: the w i g g l e s •Nicknaming all of your fish and it's probably something to do with an offensive term you've begun using as a term of endearment because you love them and they hate you which is close enough. •Having to take them out of the tank for some reason and OH MY GOD GET IN THE DAMN NET DON'T YOU DARE HIDE IN THE- you hid in the thing. •Talking to them and someone else answers and you just kind of have to... !???

fish keeper problems

•people ask ‘what’s that smell?’ It’s you. You smell like fish tank. No matter how much perfume/cologne/scented body wash you use. Fish Tank.

• sobbing as you look at your tank “where did this duckweed c o m e f r o m”

•when you see a betta/goldfish ‘bowl’

•"hey wanna go out to eat" “sorry can’t. Gotta buy some brine shrimp from the store across town”

•you look at a fish. Your wallet screams in agony. You buy the fish

•"I have room for another fish tank if I just get rid of my bed"

•sleeves constantly damp. Always.

•who are you going to find to take care of your fish when your on vacation. They’re not going to remember the right foods for each fish, and what chemicals and how much to dose, they’re not going to know what plants have to be trimmed. What about the live food. Conclusion: you can never go on vacation

•where is my fish. Oh no he’s d e a d. Oh never mind, he was just doing his best imitation of a floating plant. Asshole.

•missing a water change=anxiety

•spilling the pellets all over the floor

•-spends 2376.98 dollars on fish stuff without batting an eye- oh no, I can’t go to McDonald’s. That’s too expensive.

•fish: varied diet, lots of enrichment you: top ramen you found in the back of your cabinet from approximately 12 years ago, Binge watching Netflix for a straight month

So I've decided to rehome three of my seven fish. I love them all and I want to keep improving with them (I've got the girls in a 10 gallon now! They're together for now and they seem to like it alright, though I'm keeping an eye out for signs of additional stress. The tank is heated and filtered.) However, I may be making a move some time in the future and alas I think it would be too much for me to keep up with their care and they deserve better. I try to to what's best for them and I'm making sure the three are going to good homes. Terezibeth is unfortunately leaving my care soon, going to a good friend who has agreed to take him in. Rush, I'm hoping my little sister will take over his care and if not, my mother. Elroy might be going to another good friend of mine, a pet enthusiast who I know will take good care of him if he can take him in. I want what's best for them and if that can't be me then so be it. I hope they'll be happy where they're going.
