Tumblr media
The culmination of a high profile celebration of enterprise and entrepreneurship, GENESIS - Where Business Begins - and the final of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s 2015 If We Can, You Can Challenge will both be held at the Baltic in Gateshead on Wednesday 18th November in the middle of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

This innovative event, powered by the universities with the programme shared between the presidents of the universities’ entrepreneur societies and First Face to Face Ltd, is scheduled to attract 700 visitors from across the North East’s start-up, professional, financial and entrepreneurial business community.

EUROMONITOR PASSPORT - GLOBAL ANALYSIS
Tumblr media
The information you can retrieve from Passport is great for including in your assignment, perhaps supporting an argument with statistical data or discussing market trends or a particular market segment or type of consumer.
Millennials: Impact of their Behaviour on Global Consumer Markets. Strategy Briefing (13 Oct 2015) is an example of the sort of Analysis that you have access to.
“Millennials – defined here as consumers aged 25-34 years – represent a sizable demographic, ranging from 11% of the population in ageing Japan, to 18% in more youthful markets, such as Vietnam and South Africa, to 31% in extreme cases such as the UAE, where there is a large group of workforce age expats present..”
This report includes data on global GDP, market segmentation, differences between developed and developing economies, consumer trends and population data.
The great thing about Passport is that the data is easy to export into a spreadsheet for you to work with and the analysis can be downloaded as a pdf and sometimes as a powerpoint for you to use for academic purposes.
So how do you get onto Passport?
Log onto Discover and go to the A-to-Z list. Click on the Resources tab and scroll down to Euromonitor (Passport).
We’ve added a screenshot below to demonstrate how we found this report:

Market research on Euromonitor Passport
Last week as part of the dissertation support sessions organised by the academic study advisers we ran a Euromonitor Passport session led by the trainer from Euromonitor.
Following that we wanted to put the spotlight on this really interesting database. This week on the blog we’re going to be highlighting a few of the ways you can use Euromonitor and give a few examples of market research that Sunderland students may find useful.
Passport is an extremely rich source of information on industries, consumer trends and economic and demographic data.  It’s an important ‘real life data’ resource for business students, as many of the world’s top companies also subscribe to this database . There’s a lot of statistics, which can be interrogated and used to compare consumers across the 80 countries that Passport covers.  There is also analysis by Euromonitor experts including company profiles, country reports, global reports, infographics and much, much more.
In our next post we’ll look in more detail at some recent analysis published by Euromonitor on Passport on millennials and their impact of behaviour on global consumer markets.
