This watercolour painting by prominent local artist Ong Kim Seng depicts the Old Singapore Blood Transfusion Service. From 1953 to 1988, the SBTS occupied a building that also housed the A&E and outpatient block of Outram Road General hospital. Alfred Russell Wallace and Ali Statue. A. R. Wallace is a British humanist, naturalist, geographer, known for his courageous views on scientific, social and spiritualist subjects from his profound concern with moral, social and political values of human life. Ali was a malay boy, a shadowy figure remains an unknown character in the story of Wallace in the Malay Archipelago. Some of donors of this statue were Lee Foundation, Jake, Ta & Sasithon Jacobs, George and Jennifer Yeo, Tan Maisie née Chen, Cynthia Chee etc. The Sculpture on the right was created by Singapore's Artist Sun Yu Li called Striving.
