Angsty Taako headcanon from the mun<3

(spoilers for TAZ: Balance obviously)

Taako strikes me as the kind of wizard who would cast disguise self/minor illusion to make himself look young and sexy forever so no one can tell how old he is (and elves live a super long time anyway)

And one day Kravitz wakes up before Taako and goes to kiss his forehead and suddenly becomes acutely aware of how old Taako is and how long they’ve been together

Bc Kravitz is a reaper so he’ll live forever, but he’ll eventually have to escort Taako’s soul to the astral plane, just like he said he would when they first met in the Crystal Kingdom

And when Taako wakes up he casts disguise self to make himself look young and hot again and pretends his body doesn’t ache and his vision and hearing aren’t going and Kravitz pretends he didn’t see anything

(headcanon partially based in canon bc after the Suffering Game Taako started using glamours to make himself look pretty again and he didn’t take it down until the next time he saw Kravitz 

So like

Imagine he’s like “this is what I look like now” but he’s still hiding a little bit of his plain-ness from Kravitz and just continuously does so any time they’re together bc part of him is still so afraid that no one will love him if he’s not beautiful despite Kravitz telling him otherwise)
