only thing that comes to mind today.
#stop thinking of doing shit like this as cringey and start thinking of it as a great way to out bigots#i also have a lot of thoughts about the desire for games to be intrinsically antifascist/queer/etc#mostly of the form of Is The Alleged Antifascist Game Actually Meaningfully Antifascist Or Just Performative In The Way YOU Like#(see also: the yasha shirt; Don't Play D&D Play My Specific Game Who Cares About Your Needs and Interests types)#it's related incidentally to the desire for quote-unquote authenticity which is actually again just as performative but better at hiding.

the silliest people are the ones who make no content to promote their niche interests but keep complaining about popular characters/ships. you’re lazy and bitter and that’s all there is to it. “no one will interact with it—” someone will. there’s a community out there for everything. take the first step—look at it this way, if someone started posting about this interest of yours, wouldn’t that be great? why don’t you become that person? you are not automatically owed content.
#also. consider. do you want fic/art/meta for the thing you love? or do you just want validation and popularity.#if you want fanworks then make the fanworks and boost the other handful of people doing the same if there are any.#if you're alone and no one interacts with it guess what you're not owed validation either. however at least you made it and you have it.#also. sorry but if you've got like 2000 fics and another ship has 4000 fics and you're mad about this you are a spoiled brat#like there's There's Almost No Content which does admittedly suck just whining doesn't help#and then there's I'm A Fucking Entitled Loser Who Throws A Tantrum When Someone Has A Slightly Bigger Slice Of Pizza#(topped only by the people who have 4000 fics and get mad that there's 2 fics not about that who should be fucking shunned out of fandom)#oh but also there's an easy way to win at validation and popularity it's called jump on the bandwagon of whatever is most popular#if you won't do that that's fine but that means you decided liking your own thing was more important than validation. live with that.

Thinking abt how Remmick weaponizes his ability to code-switch from White Southern Man to Subjugated Irishman and knowing which one will serve his current manipulations best. Basically every time his Irish accent crops up it feels so deliberate. He’s so interesting because he’s just plain evil and trying to hide it behind the veil of his people’s history, as if it entitles him to cannibalize whatever he wants.

Today marks the start of my fourth year of posting fan art. I never imagined I would stay this passionate about CR for so long, or that I'd keep drawing for all this time — but one thing's for sure: I truly love CR.

I kind of hope the age of umbra party levels up because there's some REALLY good level 2 cards out there
#age of umbra#cr spoilers#(they have not leveled up to be clear they are still L1)#i was going through the book to brush up on daggerheart mechanics and. i think it's really good#like...i think the best way to put it is daggerheart is not a good game for people who want to try to learn from actual play. funnily enoug#you gotta read the book. it's not overly complicated! but it requires more player buy in than d&d (this is a good thing)#anyway i have level up ideas for the current characters#AND i have thoughts on what i'd like to play even though realistically if i want to play daggerheart...i am running it

"this is an inaccurate adaptation" okay but is it good "this didn't happen in the book" does it make sense in the context of the new work though "they totally changed the plot" and is the new one good or bad "it's completely different" not what I asked "they changed all the stuff I like" then I get why you wouldn't be into it but I'm asking about its own artistic merits "this character is meant to be blonde" I couldn't give less of a fuck

So I've got a DnD party of OCs, whom I like to draw smooching each other on my -ahem- other account. But! I love them in sfw ways too! This instance I wanted to do costume construction design♥

Breakdowns!! Let's start with Valla and Kren, the og ocs of this party. They're a couple, and are extremely cute with each other.

Ennis next, who is a grumpy butthead who maybe possibly discovered an eldritch being bound to a magical tome he carries around. ...maybe.

And finally Aeth and Ridian, who are also a couple! They're in an open relationship, because part of being a bard and/or rogue is being EXTREMELY horny. I love them.
Enjoy my weird silly sexy babies! If you want to see them un♥censored.....check out caiterbates.bsky.social >:3

I really feel for Neve when the city choice comes up. Her country is actively, aggressively evil. It’s plagued by religious zealots who just will. not. go. away. And it “““helpfully””” exports those zealots to all the neighboring countries as well! Everyone is just maximally sick of their shit.
Even from a harm reduction perspective, it doesn’t really make sense to step in, because Tevinter has a proven history of getting right back on its bullshit. Whoever gets saved could fall to Venatori (or even just regular magisters) right after. And she knows it. You can hear it in her voice, especially when Rook isn’t a Shadow Dragon. She’s just grasping for any reason to explain why an outsider should care what happens to Tevinter.
It’s like, don’t think of it as saving us, think of it as preventing us from getting Worse. Think of how we’d misuse our power! Because I can understand the appeal of leaving us to the leopards. I get the schadenfreude. I get why you want to write the whole place off.
But the problem is, I live there.
#datv#YEAH.#i have a lot of thoughts about the city choice bc like. frankly almost everything about the story hits better if you save treviso#the argument for why you should do it is better; the questlines for both minrathous and treviso are stronger; the stakes feel higher#even the main story and neve's arc feels better imo#but it only works bc you still fuck up minrathous and badly set back the shadow dragons by doing so. like it still hurts#it still isn't an easy choice. i know what i think is better but it's because you can't pick both

just to address some trends in the tags on this, I think Call of the Netherdeep fully holds up and any discrepancy between Alyxian and modern Exandria is easily handwaved as "this legend was mostly lost with the Calamity", but that again underscores how Imogen made it nearly to 30 years of age without once knowing that her powers (which, again, genuinely caused problems for people) were tied to Ruidus, whereas Alyxian had villagers at his door with pitchforks when he was a toddler, and the gods were like "hell yeah little buddy" to him without any regard for him being Ruidusborn. Add that to the fact that the only references to active discrimination on the basis of purely being born during a Ruidus flare post-Calamity are confined to Tal'Dorei and almost entirely to sourcebooks, and the fact that Ludinus's plotting is skillfully and lovingly seeded throughout Campaign 2 from very early on while there's not a single mention of Ruidusborn discrimination and yeah it's really fucking bad.
I've described the flaws of Campaign 3 in private (possibly also in tags on a post, I don't recall) as trying to fit a too small bedsheet onto a mattress - every explanation to address something makes another problem pop up, and the informed vs. actual ruidusborn situation is maybe the biggest one save perhaps, as others have accurately noted, the fuzzy and vague characterization of the concept of divinity.
no but seriously what was the fucking deal with Ruidusborn. like the TCSR and Call of the Netherdeep both made it seem like cut and dry discrimination; not so much racism as perhaps disability given the similarities to practices of leaving weak infants to die (for a coherent sf...not even metaphor, straight up text, might I recommend the Hugo and Nebula winning The Mountains of Mourning), but like, very clearly the victims here. And then it turned out that a subset of them did, in fact, have destructive and invasive powers and could serve as the vessel to, effectively, a targeted biological weapon; that several of them had violently turned on the people who were attempting to help them and normalize their acceptance, for no other reason than "a powerful man said so and they didn't have a complete cure fast enough"; and that they were actively recruiting child soldiers and allying with multiple authoritarian states. I am currently running Netherdeep and I'm deep in the Netherdeep portion (not quite to the Heart of Despair), and it's actually wild playing Alyxian knowing that this metaphor is not just broken but like, twisted in some kind of junkyard compressor/electromagnet hellscape way that's impossible to untangle and one can only say "uh what the fuck"
