I was actually filming in Prague, I’m doing the BBC’s adaptation of  'The Three Musketeers’ over there, playing Cardinal Richelieu. I had my phone on silent so I missed the call. It was my dear agent. I rang her up, and said ‘It’s me’ and she said, ‘Hello Doctor.’ I just started to laugh and I haven’t stopped laughing since.

Today my second oldest niece became a middle school student. I am so proud of all of my brothers's kids. So story time. As some of you know I have suffered from depression. A few years back life looked its darkest. In the darkest moments only one thing kept me from killing myself. I did not want to make my brother and his wife explain to my nieces and nephews why I had taken my life. I did not want to be a cause of that much pain. So in this season of graduations and ending of chapters remember that one end is a new beginning. Any reason to keep living is a good reason.

Artist Repurposes and Enhances Thrift Art Oil Paintings Into Hilarious Parodies

New York-based artist David Pollot rejuvenates vintage, thrift shop paintings by inserting famous pop culture characters. Featuring the familiar faces in Star Wars, The Simpsons, and Super Mario among many other beloved characters Irvine skillfully mimics the style of the original artist or contradicts it for irony.

Pollot admits to having a short attention span, and says, “Repurposing old thrift art has become something of an answer to this problem. I take abandoned prints and paintings found at thrift stores and garage sales and carefully use oil paints to make new additions into the old pieces. Part of the challenge is not only taking some piece of pop culture and putting it into a place where it might not belong, but also making it blend in so well that it actually seems that it belongs.”
