Evil 3 am thoughts: I always thought that if Valen and Gideon were to break up it would be Gideon’s fault which is so ironic because he’s the one that pursued it the hardest and then ends up being the one who taps out first (🤡). The reasons simply being he couldn’t get Valen’s needs met and realizes just how much effort goes into dating him and how different they are as people and that Valen’s goals and lifestyle don’t really align with his at all

I think he also worries a lot about Valen cheating on him or losing interest so he creates a lot of false doubt and irrational jealousy. But Gideon isn’t always the easiest to deal with either he’s cold and has a temper that Valen doesn’t like, he’s also hurtful in arguments and his silence treatment is cruel. Valen hates conflict especially with him so he’d rather avoid this scene altogether. Both of them fantasized about the relationship but when they realize how much work and patience goes into it and one or both of them isn’t willing to do the work or communicate it fails miserably but Valen will argue and stay while Gideon will get distant and plan an exit strategy

so many ways a character can be dog-coded. stray following someone home and begging for scraps. old and needs to be put out of its misery. attack dog. guard dog. lap dog. puppy that pees on the carpet from excitement. shelter dog just happy to finally have feet to curl up on. unsocialized that bites anyone trying to show kindness. silly goofy puddle monster. obedient until the leash comes off
