I recently felt a sudden urge to go all out, because there was something missing. A certain primal connect with who I am as a person, a living breathing organism over saturated with emotions. Such explorations are a path to realizing a connect between the hand, mind and the heart until the hand and heart are one. There is no formula for such works. Tinariwen roughly means 'The people of the desert'. I've been listening to their music for the past few days continuously and it gives me a sense a beauty that is hard to explain in words. Only that I've been in moments of rhythmic dance when I listen to them. One thing which is quite refreshing to see is fellow commuters taking an interest in my drawings and often asking me what is about, how do you become an artist.etc. It really goes out to show that the notion of appreciation is present within the aam janta (mango people). I found some time of late during my final semester submission and managed to get a new artwork done within that time. This one is called "Hope". As always I start with a feeling as opposed to conceptual insights into what I draw. That feeling manifests itself differently as each stage of the drawing progresses. The feeling is like a catalyst of sorts if you want to call it. And as artists we are like moths drawn to light bulbs of emotion. Hence it is not cerebral in nature. Can one give an essay on how the fragrance of the morning dew is? Or perhaps what does one experience when it rains? No words.
