finding dozens of vampire drawings from when I was only four— being obsessed with snakes for a large majority of my life before I even knew about Lilith.

Fighting against all that’s wrong with the world, begging to the wrong god for a chance at freedom from the persecution I was facing. Fixated on everything that was queer, odd, weird, wrong, wondering what was wrong with me for years upon years. Drawing myself with horns and devil tails because that’s what I thought about myself, that’s what the world told me I was, drawing dragons on every single homework folder I could get my hands on. Unable to look away from everything that was discriminatory, unable to keep quiet in the face of injustice. Nothing was wrong with me — I was just hers, and I didn’t know it yet.

I hadn’t yet realized that the wings guiding my path were raven, not dove.

Discovering that stuff in your life aligns a lot with correspondences of the deities your worship is so weird and comforting at the same time.
