its crazy that a lot of what we call 'video essays' these days are basically low budget documentaries on increasingly weird and niche topics. no network approval no tv budget just one guy with maybe a hired editor/writer and a couple of friends willing to read voice lines. and then they put it on youtube like its no big deal. insane.

I’m not well versed in fairy folklore and the basics of it I learned from Holly Black books lolz but what I was always curious about are the Rowan berry necklaces. Does it have to be a necklace? Can it be an anklet? A waist chain? I would of done one of those unless it has to be a necklace per Da Rules™️

thinking of Romeo and juliet, enemies to lovers, except it's about the manservants (or handmaidens) serving opposing monarchs and every time the two monarchs meet up to discuss/argue politics, the two right hands are standing outside the doors like

"you're doing your hair differently now??" "we really shouldn't speak." "the length is unexpectedly short. who are you trying to impress?" "nobody!! oh this is so unprofessional. if my lady hears me..." "ah, here they come. still angry, as usual. see you next week, then."

The Ember in the Ashes series absolutely deserves as much attention as all the most popular fantasy books. Those books are so beautifully written and carry such important messages. I’ve never read a book that’s felt so fanciful but still felt so relevant to this world.
