Great catching up with the German fam

Berlin is an amazing city. What a surprise for us both. We did not expect to like Berlin all that much but we will definately be heading back. There was so much to see and do there and we didn't even scratch the surface.

Amsterdam..pouring with rain since we arrived. But we made the most of the brief sunshine when we had it. Canal tour was very nice and a great way to see the city. Got some amazing freshly made stroopwaffles which were incredible and Sophie won the beer pouring comp at Heineken Woo! Was not impressed with all the rubbish piled everywhere in the streets but the people were all super friendly

Beautiful Bruges. An amazing friendly city with great food, beer and choolate. This one will be hard to beat. Two days in the old centre was just enough to see you the sights. The history here is incredible. A must on any Europe bucket list.

Paris

Day 5

Of all the intersections in all the world to bump into two friends in Paris during the 2 days here is quite incredible. we were not terribly impressed yesterday with the city but today has been much better. Shopping is fantastic and the older tourist areas are well kept. We spent yesterday walking around the city, clocking up 20 kms and we managed to see some amazing sights did some tourist things but mostly enjoyed the people watching.

London

Day (3) 6:00 am London time

Sorry for the lack of posts we should hopefully be more frequent now

We have arrived! leaving NZ on Sunday 2 June we arrived in London on Monday 3 June am. Our plan was to not sleep at all on the first leg of the journey (Akl - Singapore) and then catch some sleep on the second leg to London. Doing this helped us avoid most of the effects of jetlag but we are still not operating at 100%. 

We arrived at 7am and dropped our bags off / showered and headed out to see the sights. London is incredible, surpassing all expectations even in the light rain we have been experiencing. This amazing city is easy to navigate and filled with great shopping and great food. 

We were lucky enough to land just a few hours before Don Trump which has added to the buzz of the city as it seems that Trump and Brexit are all anyone talks about. our first stop on day 1 was Buckingham Palace where we were treated to a parade to welcome the Don. 

We have been and done a few of the touristy things but really just walking around finding little nooks to have coffee and markets has been just as fun. Yesterday we visited Harry Potter studios which was an amazing experience and definitely worth the time. This morning is dedicated to shopping for Sophie and this afternoon we are going to see the production of the Cursed Child. 

So far London or 48 hours in London is a solid 4.5/5 for us based on what we have experienced. We have had no issues or complaints but made a lot of good memories in a short time.

Day (-1)

12 years later and Sophie and I are married! We had an amazing day with a range of weather from sunny through to storms and wind. Thanks to everyone that could attend it was really special. Now we are just 12 hours from flying off on our big honeymoon / holiday. London here we come!

Day (-21) 

The countdown is on to the big day. We are 90% there with just a few bits and pieces to go. Currently sorting the music playlist for the evening and checking we have everything for the trip. We will be trying to post updates every couple of days or more.
