The Write Move

My relationship with women & writing is exactly the same.

I know what I’m going to say & how I’m going to say it until the moment comes.

Then, Nothing.

I freeze. I can’t seem to shake this idea that I’m not good enough. Worthy, like I don’t deserve to chase my dreams with an Usian Bolt like approach.

As if I can’t have success & happiness in a challenging career field.

I truly feel like with a pen in my hand I’m a bad man.

A stroke of genius if you will.

But I can’t get the genius to put words to the page.

My mind is blocked with nonsense. Random things I allow myself to get distracted by every day.

You know. Snap, bleacher report, Instagram. The usual distractions.

I know what I want from my life. I know what I want my life to look like. I just don’t believe I can make it happen & I couldn’t tell you why.

If I could figure out why I feel that way, I like to think I could end it.

I once told a guy that I wanted to be a writer. He looked at me, took a step back & said you’ll do it kid. I can see it.

I later thought to myself, some random guy who knows nothing about you & has never read writing told you that success was yours & you believed him. But can’t do that for yourself.

It’s time. It’s time I bet on me.

Time to walk in my purpose of being a writer. Time to find my niche.

Time to write my way out of this lackluster life.

It was written for me to write.

London

Day (3) 6:00 am London time

Sorry for the lack of posts we should hopefully be more frequent now

We have arrived! leaving NZ on Sunday 2 June we arrived in London on Monday 3 June am. Our plan was to not sleep at all on the first leg of the journey (Akl - Singapore) and then catch some sleep on the second leg to London. Doing this helped us avoid most of the effects of jetlag but we are still not operating at 100%. 

We arrived at 7am and dropped our bags off / showered and headed out to see the sights. London is incredible, surpassing all expectations even in the light rain we have been experiencing. This amazing city is easy to navigate and filled with great shopping and great food. 

We were lucky enough to land just a few hours before Don Trump which has added to the buzz of the city as it seems that Trump and Brexit are all anyone talks about. our first stop on day 1 was Buckingham Palace where we were treated to a parade to welcome the Don. 

We have been and done a few of the touristy things but really just walking around finding little nooks to have coffee and markets has been just as fun. Yesterday we visited Harry Potter studios which was an amazing experience and definitely worth the time. This morning is dedicated to shopping for Sophie and this afternoon we are going to see the production of the Cursed Child. 

So far London or 48 hours in London is a solid 4.5/5 for us based on what we have experienced. We have had no issues or complaints but made a lot of good memories in a short time.

First day of workshop wasn't easy for the turn up, as dancers were a bit late and we got to know that they had miscommunication on what time to start. The class was really so good with our teachers from USA that's @time2swing. As they had to wait for us and we had fund doing the choreography of #FrankieManning first stop with #NormaMiller, as we are celebrating her birthday and also her legacy the queen of swing. We shall start sharing some videos online soon but for now just enjoy the pictures, from this Northern Uganda tour for introduction of #lindyhop and #swingdance. If you are out there interested in sharing your knowledge of Swing Dance history and it's values, just don't hesitate to DM us so that you can have time to share it with dancers in Northern Uganda. Also we are still looking for more support as we still have another district to reach out too. We have got a lot of different communities, and countries inviting us to introduce Lindyhop and Swing Dance to them but we lack that support for us to go to them. Let's get together and support each other for the growth of swing dance and Lindyhop in Africa too now. We are calling out loud to the swing dance and Lindyhop communities out there to come and stand with us on this cause, we are building up now.
