I am so excited to finally share the program I made for the @scottsdalechamber 33rd Annual Sterling Awards! The event theme was kept secret and revealed the day of the event and was inspired by the Harry Potter series. My concept was inspired by common room doorways each Hogwarts house (Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff & Slytherin). I am so incredibly happy with how it turned out! ✨ Congratulations to the nominees & winners of this prestigious award! Celebrating local businesses helps build a vibrant and prosperous community. ✨ If you told me three years ago that I’d be capable of doing graphic design for an organization like The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce I’d tell you that you suffered from delusions of grandeur. ✨ Thanks to the amazing graphic design program at @scottsdalecc I will soon graduate with confidence of a professional. It is an honor to have 3 of my pieces accepted into the SCC Graphic Design Expo this year! @scottsdalecc has a really phenomenal Graphic Design program that I believe has made me a really well rounded designer. The first piece is a creative resume. When you open it the bottom half of the book says “my name is Angie Vandine.” The book opens to some of my design pieces, my work & school experience and contact info. I came across this flier today & it embodies an idea I think is important to address. ✨✨ When hiring a graphic designer it’s very important they understand more than software programs & putting words and images on a page. ✨✨ The Head of our design department at @scottsdalecc has blessed me with two major keys to design: hierarchy & contrast. The idea is that if everything is bold, nothing is bold. Also, if everything is treated as the most important things then nothing is. ✨✨ This is a great reason to hire a professional graphic designer. Putting words on a page is very different than engaging a reader & compelling them to do what you want them to do.
