water does not resist. water flows. water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. but water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. water is patient. if you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. water does.

Favourite Artworks:
'The Lady of Shalott' by John William Waterhouse
1888
The painting illustrates the following lines from part IV of Tennyson’s ‘The Lady of Shalott’:
And down the river’s dim expanse Like some bold seer in a trance, Seeing all his own mischance - With glassy countenance Did she look to Camelot. And at the closing of the day She loosed the chain, and down she lay; The broad stream bore her far away, The Lady of Shalott.

This is bubug's very special Christmas gift to me! I had expressed a desire to her to create a Sansan holiday themed illustration that captured the aspect of Christmas that is more fundamental than high spirits; a primal, pagan celebration of love and life at the time of year when most of humanity lives in near perpetual darkness.
And here’s what her talented hands drew! Sansa and Sandor, among sentinel trees illuminated by candles, giving each other a restored Winterfell.
We’ve turned our little Sansan winter lovefest into holiday cards. If you’d like a free card mailed to you with our holiday greetings, fill out this form between now and Christmas Eve. This is to open to all of Sansan fandom, not just my followers.
ETA: I’ve closed the form on 12/20. But if we’re friends, contact me directly, a card has been reserved for you.
