Her breaths are ragged while tears stream down her cheeks. She has to force the air in and out of her lungs, but it doesn’t stop the feeling that she’s drowning. That she died in a dream that has snuck up on her. Always a bit different but had the same effect. She can never fully leave behind the horror that she has seen. She’s woken up in a panic, and it must have roused the Doctor. She feels her arms around her as she hyperventilates, and she grabs onto them to ground her while she speaks. She falls against the other’s chest, head buried in the crook of the Doctor’s neck. She can’t find any words. What words are there to say? “Sorry,” she manages, although what  she’s sorry for she isn’t even very clear on. “I’m sorry.”

They’re words that Clara has hoped of hearing ever since she’s taken Livvy in. Every child should get to feel safe. Especially one as wonderful as Livvy. It makes her heart soar more than any other words could right now, and there is an unusual vulnerability in her smile as she looks at the little girl. “Good. That’s all I want for you right now.” Her smile brightens, hand softly rubbing Livvy’s cheek before she gets up. “Come on. Why don’t we go somewhere fun, eh? We can go anywhere you want.”

The idea makes her scoff and roll her eyes. Eve doesn’t know when to quit, and while it’s admirable, it can also get really annoying when she’s all bossy and mumsy. She smiles brightly as he opens the door for her, curtseys before she goes in. “Oh, absolutely. Thai food is to die for. I know a really good place that’s near here, I think,” she replies while she starts moving around the room. “And I mean, chaos is guaranteed in this job. We’re just the best ones that handle it and it freaks her out.” Especially when they caused the chaos themselves. “I can’t see it. Can you?”

“I think Eve is terrified about sending us in here alone. It’s like she thinks we seek out to cause trouble and chaos where we go,” A pause, rolling his eyes as he works the lock to unlock it, granting them entry to a secured restoration lab, ” I mean, we do, but we’re also professionals. So we’ll cause chaos and get the job done, right?” Ezekiel gives Clara a grin, wide and genuine as he holds the door for her to enter first. “Also, we should stop for Thai afterwards. I really want some.”

She knows well enough what the sort of people she should and shouldn’t befriend while she’s stuck here. "Well, I can definitely try to be some decent company at least. Not sure about good, though, but definitely not disastrous.” She smiles brightly. “Do you like mythology?”

PROMISES HAVE CONSUMED HER, but none so much as the promises in her vows to her wife, and she does that as much as she can. Whenever she can steal Maeve away, whenever they have these delicate moments are precious. They need time to themselves too, now as much as when visits were far and few between. She still doesn’t completely understand modern technology, and in that way her and her brilliant wife are worlds apart. Maeve has learnt with the times, whilst Clara's understanding of it all stopped in the early twentieth Century. Airplanes were a godsend, but they still made her phenomenally uncomfortable.

“I can’t help it, priyatama. You know me, I’m a horrible romantic.” There’s a smirk on her face, contented sigh passing her lips as she lets herself treasure the wonderful moments. With Maeve’s touch, her smell. There most likely are others in the aquarium, but for all Clara cares it’s just the two of them in the whole damned world. There are others to think about, of course, but right now? She couldn’t care less.

She looks over to her wife before looking in the direction she is referring to, chuckling softly at the sight. “I didn’t know that.” Smirk turns into a smile. “I think I heard some things, uh, on the radio, a few years ago. There was one predicting the scores, wasn’t there? I can’t remember of what it was predicting scores of any more, but I remember that.” She pauses, tilts her head before glittering eyes look to her beloved again. “Tell me more. What else can they do?”
