There is no doubt my Ninjago rewrite will include Monkie Kid elements and characters at this point forward. I loved the show synopsis and the characters while I was in the fandom to not forget about them.

HOWEVER.

It will not be a full copy-paste nor have the fandom gag of "every season is the MK gang fighting Wukong's exes". The only things taken from the show into the rewrite is Wukong having a successor that is pretty much his son, and characters from the show I genuinely liked. This means most of the time, I will be referring to JTTW for the characters and other Chinese mythology.

There won't be ships from the Monkie Kid fandom of the show into the rewrite, so don't expect shadowpeach but expect Wukong and Macaque being with random OCs. Other characters are a 50/50 with shipping, it really depends on who I think would work in having a relationship.

So please. For the sake of deities I respect in life.

the more i work on my Ninjago rewrite, the more the demons in my head say to take stuff from the Monkie Kid show and throw them into Ninjago

granted, i stopped watching the show and following up with the fandom but i love the characters a lot (macaque and lbd to be specific) so if i drag these characters into my rewrite, no monkie kid tags because im pretty much done with anything involved with the show

the urges to draw concepts is killing me

also for fun, i rambled about my girls in the discord so I'm pasting it here

so Sweetpix (the kumiho girls) are like the Hunters in a sense where they have a continuous generation where daughters of kumiho uphold their mother's legacy as to reach more power for themselves and to be higher beings. Aeji, Ivoire, Maeum, Cheon-sa, and Fantasia are the recent century's kumiho. They have the same strategy as the Saja Boys where the only way to gain souls is becoming a kpop idol.

HOWEVER- by the knowledge of the Kumiho, just like their huli jing and kitsune sisters, they have life essence marbles (yeowoo guseul). But instead of doing it traditionally, the marbles store the souls of the fans. And all the girls use those marbles as accessories (necklaces, bracelets, rings, whatever).

Also by research, kumiho are generally neutral and self-centered. All the girls, even though they are aware of Huntrix and Saja Boys's double life, they don't care much about it unless it interferes with their own work.

I also like to think at one point, Gwi-ma had gotten word about the girls but dismissed it because despite being a demon lord, he respects the work of the kumiho enough to not meddle with them. So if Jinu brings them up, Gwi-ma would turn the tables about it (because Jinu has a crush on Aeji that lasted for 400 years and he STILL hasn't said anything about it so Gwi-ma can uno reverse it on Jinu).

The girls haven't necessarily told Huntrix (specifically Aeji, Maeum, and Fantasia to Rumi, Zoey, and Mira) about them being kumiho but it could only work post-movie where they are working into a comeback in either in spring or summer. While understanding, they would be on edge about them stealing souls of fans because of Saja Boys (flashbacks). Rumi being on the edge the most with Aeji because 1: that's her crush, 2: literally went through chaos with Jinu, 3: are they taking souls from Huntrix fans or their own fans or random people.

They do figure things out in time where the Saja Boys come back (plus becoming a polycule of some sort), but it takes a while.

reblogging to reference for my "fix-it" AU for KPDH but to also tap the sign for people that are quick to demand a moment where Jinu and Rumi should kiss and forget about what happened at Idol Awards🚶‍♂️

once again i say, take into account of what the movie shows and also the characters and their actions. Jinu was in the wrong to use Rumi's secret against her, whether or not Gwi-ma pushed him to do it through manipulation, and therefore their bond would pretty much be on a thin line with Rumi not trusting him with anything associated with her (if the movie was actually 3 hours long) and wanting him to prove he won't pull a stunt again on her.

there's a lot of opportunity with their relationship post-movie and how the incident can affect EVERYONE, not just Rumi but also Zoey, Mira, Celine and even Bobby. there's a lot of potential for such a short film and a LOT of scrapped concepts.

i dunno, just saying to not be quick to want RuJinu to have a kissing scene when Jinu needs to right his wrongs for hurting Rumi the way he did and live in the reality of what he did became a butterfly effect for everyone, IF he ever returns for a sequel as the same person or like reincarnated.

I'll say it, a big KPDH hot take (KPDH SPOILERS):

This growing fandom is really missing the fact that Jinu publicly hurt Rumi (exposing her half-demon heritage) just so he's not the one suffering more than he is with his issues with Gwi-ma.

Like I love their relationship and I also wish the movie gave more for everyone but a lot of others are forgetting those scenes just for the sake of a possible happy ending.

There's nothing wrong with wanting Rumi and Jinu being a couple, I adore them too. But maybe open your eyes to the lowest betrayal Jinu did to Rumi at the Idol Awards. Like, don't skip that part or turn a blind eye to it.

Make it make sense in your post-movie fics. Make Rumi, despite relieved Jinu is free, still feel bitter and resentful to him for hurting her. Make her get panic attacks about the incident at the awards, despite being at peace with her demon half. If you write where she's able to get Jinu back, make her confront him again about what he did and make him work to heal their relationship.

TLDR: don't be ignorant on Jinu's betrayal. Just because he's hot and highly shipped with Rumi doesn't excuse him doing the worst to her to save himself only.
