Chapter Fifty-Two: The Raid
What’s this episode again? Oh yeah, that one where Jughead gets thrown out of a three storey window and just walks it off. Let’s jump in!
Tumblr media
Our first outfit is a classic opener. Veronica often starts out episodes in her Pops uniform, it’s a good establisher.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veronica wears this outfit verbatim - minus the farm sticker and her belt - in 2x08, an episode in which she broke up with Archie and worried about her parents relationship. Here she’s trying to stop them from divorcing. Honestly I can’t see why Veronica’s so shocked by her parents divorce, we could see it coming from a mile away. Anyways, I am thrilled that this coat seems to be sticking around again, I missed it in the first half of the season.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon seeing this skirt I thought this screams Ted Baker (the florals! the thick scuba like texture! the waist belt!) and lo and behold I was right. Veronica loves a good Ted Baker number and this skirt fits into her wardrobe with ease. It’s paired with this interesting bell sleeved jumper with a velvet bow and a little diamond. This kind of feels like an updated version of her collared jumpers, it’s v classy.
Tumblr media
This is why I love Riverdale, I mean where else am I going to get quality dialogue like this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a fun look. This yellow ribbed polo is very Veronica and the yellow colour once again reflects her family troubles. The wardrobe team has added another velvet bow and its very cute! Neck bows have been a season 3 staple.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is pretty out there, it kinda reflects the fact that Veronica herself is all over herself here dealing with her family issues. Peep her fur collared purple coat on the chair! Polo shirts are nothing new, but the contrasting colours and tartan here is kind of a lot. The yellow plays into her family issues, while the purples are Veronica staples. This skirt is new to us and does kind of strike me as more of a Betty piece, its still cute though. This studded belt might have cropped up in 3x02, and could symbolise Veronica’s abraisive actions here. She’s not in a good mood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nice to see the Lodges really bringing it, outerwear wise. This blue coat is new to us but the furry collar style is not, in fact we saw her carrying purple fur collar coat just last scene. I can’t really see underneath but I think she’s wearing the white blouse with the studded bow from 3x10, I hope it comes back again! These black and white strappy heels are new and also fit into the kind of sixties style a lot of the characters have been emulating this season.
Tumblr media
Ending with the aforementioned fall out of the window.
Total: Six outfits, a nice round number
Cape Count: Nada
Teardrop Pearl Count: I think I’m going to have to retire the count for now...
Favourite: The Ted Baker skirt and fancy jumper

Catch you later!

Chapter Fifty-One: Big Fun
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, it’s deadline season and uni is kicking my ass. Anyways, we’ve reached the Heathers episode and I am beyond excited. Riverdale shares a lot of similiarities with Heathers - it’s about teens, murder, angst, etc. - but I also think they’re quite similar in terms of costuming and colour theory. Lets jump in!
Tumblr media
Our first look is her Pops uniform. I do have to wonder how she has time to work a shift before school starts, I barely have time to shower and get some toast most mornings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those are my girls! This is our first look at the Heathers and I am loving Veronica’s outfit. This top first cropped up all the way back in 2x07, and her fits her Heather Chandler look. Yellow often pops up when V is struggling with family issues and this episode sees her deal with a lot of them. This skirt is new and definitely strikes me as more of a Betty piece, which is interesting as Betty’s pearl sweater screams Veronica. It seems B and V are taking some inspiration from each other this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These Heathers outfits are somewhat inauthentic - I mean it is the CW - but I appreciate their committment to blazers, even if they do lack Heathers appropriate shoulder pads. Veronica’s look kind of fits with her usual style as the show’s resident prep, but this outfit is pretty out there. The pleated blouse and brooch are cute. The white knee highs and mary janes are very 3x04 Hermione Gomez which is fun.
Tumblr media
She goes for the same look for the cast party (which I’m pretty sure are supposed to be after the show?)
Tumblr media
I never quite know what to say when I’m looking at Veronica’s bras. I mean it’s cute, what else is there?
Tumblr media
I love how hungover everyone in this scene is, dare I say mood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet another Ted Baker collared sweater - I am very pleased to see them back after the early season three drought - and what appears to be a blue skirt and black pumps. This is very season two Veronica, which makes sense as she’s back to worrying about her parents.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know for a fact that we’ve seen this top before but I have scrolled through so many of my old posts and I cannot seem to find out which episode its from. I want to say late season two but I am lost. Anyways, it’s paired with another classic Veronica midi skirt; this one is tartan which really hammers in the Heathers schoolgirl chic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This bomb coat first turned up in 3x09 - another Hiram heavy episode - and its still going strong.
Tumblr media
Veronica Lodge in a fluffy dressing gown? Colour me shocked. I believe this is the same one she wore pre show in 2x18.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a very Veronica blouse with its black bow and collar details. The rest of course is her costume. I know we all love to clown on this episode but I do find this scene kinda touching, they are only seventeen.
Tumblr media
Riverdale bullshit ensues.
Total: Nine outfits
Cape Count: Nada
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nope
Favourite: Hmm this is tough , probably her first Heathers look
Tumblr media
See you (hopefully) soon!

Chapter Fifty: American Dreams
Once again, Veronica’s plot largely revolves around the feud between her father and Gladys Jones, a storyline I had honestly pretty much forgot about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is so cute, #lopazrise
Tumblr media
Anyways, this is another cute af dress. Veronica’s speakeasy dresses tend to have very similar styles; jewel tones, sleeveless, floral, deep necklines. Girl has a style and she sticks to it.
Tumblr media
Pops uniform, we haven’t seen it for quite a few eps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This appears to be another sleeeless black dress, with a jewel detail on the neck. Veronica always jazzes up her plainer looks with some pearl or jewel details.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My girls! Veronica’s marshmallow hot chocolate looks great. Anyways, I believe this is a new sleepset, Veronica’s pyjamas are always silk and always deep jewel tones.
Tumblr media
This is the most we see of this look but it fits the speakeasy formula to a tee. Jewel straps, deep neckline, sparkle details, jewel tones. The chiffony details are very fun though. I know she’s wealthy but Veronica does own an obscene amount of formal dresses. A girl can dream...
Tumblr media
Okay Cheryl’s dress is fire!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay this is cute! Black or white blouses with contrast detailing are something Veronica’s been wearing reguarly this season. It’s very schoolgirl chic, with contrats nicely from the hyper-rescourceful businesswoman we’ve seen her become this season. Pairing them with tartan skirts further cements this style, and this one is a little darker than we normally see on her. She’s nothing if not preppy.
Total: Six
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nothing
Favourite: I’m gonna say black blouse and tartan skirt
Tumblr media
See you soon!

Chapter Forty-Nine: Fire Walk With Me
Veronica isn’t really involved with the farm, G&G, or the gang storylines and as a result she doesn’t have all that much to do in the latter half of the season. That might be why my posts have been a little stale the past few episodes, That being said, lets jump in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is DEEP cut, but I’m glad to see it back! Much like in season one Veronica is feeling pretty impotent at this moment and like she’s subject to the whims of her father. Nevertheless, this Ted Baker number makes a welcome return!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This may be a Veronica blog but I do have to express my love for Betty’s flared rust overalls, they are the moment. Anways, this is a very season two V outfit. I’m glad to see these collared sweaters make a return in 3b, I’ve always had a soft spot for them. This checked purple skirt is a slightly revamped take on a Veronica staple. This kind of feels like season three Veronica’s take on her season two styles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This dress is really cute, and it’s also very similar to Betty’s speakeasy opening dress all the way back in 3x03, which was also from Alice + Olivia. Speakeasy Veronica is always rocking looks, and this is no exception.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is new, but it does give off season one and two vibes. The jewel collar and belt make it feel a little more fun, it’s very Veronica.
Tumblr media
Another look in which Veronica goes for maximum pearls with this shirt and her earrings. I have the feeling we’ve seen this top before but I might just be confused, Veronica wears a lot of long sleeved tops with embellishments.
Tumblr media
This coat is a familar favourite. It first appeared in 2x14 and has been cropping up fairly regularly ever since.
Total: Six
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Despite the season two vibes she does not make an appearance.
Favourite: Embellished collar sweater and purple skirt.

Chapter Forty-Eight: Requiem for a Welterweight
To be honest this episode is not a particuarly memorable one, it joins season 3b’s ranks of forgetable episodes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We open on an outfit formula that should be pretty familiar to us by now; a black short sleeved top and a preppy miniskirt. This black one combines tweed and houndstooth in blue and yellow, and it’s very cute. Yellow often signifies family issues for Veronica and this episode is no exception. This time, however, the Jones’ are wrapped up in it. The lighting in this scene is not great so I was largely unable to catch any details on her top.
Tumblr media
I am obsessed with Betty’s tartan trousers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This outfit is giving off pretty strong season one vibes, no? Sleeveless A-line tweed dresses were something we saw on her a fair bit, this one is very reminiscients of 1x08s. Here she is sort of reverting back to defending her father, which she was all about in the first season.
Tumblr media
Good to know this shirt survived the milkshake attack, it’s cute!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She pairs it with a pretty simple black skirt, and this black coat. Veronica owns a great many black coats so I am completely unable to tell you if this one has cropped up before. It’s pretty nondescript.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I truly wish Hiram’s office had some better lighting cause this episode has been horrific to cap. Anyways, Veronica goes for a long black skirt and a burghundy weater, razzed up a bit by a ruffled neck and some funky sleeves. I wish I could say more but I really cannot see all that much of this look.
Total: Four
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nada
Favourite: I’m not too partial to any of them but I’ll go with the milkshake top!
Tumblr media
See you for the next one!

Chapter Forty-Seven: Bizzarodale
This is an episode I really like, seeing an alterante version of the core four with our mains as backups was pretty fun. Hope we see it again some time!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a pretty dramatic blouse and much of its features have come to be quite recognizable by now. Ruffled sleeves, layers, big bow. This one actually has two (2!) bows and a matching white belt.
Tumblr media
We haven’t seen Veronica in one of these collared sweaters since 2x19, I’m glad to see her back in them. While early season three saw a big shake up in her wardrobe, the latter half of the season does see a considerable return to her styles from season two. Whether this has to do with her slowly mending parts of her familial relationships or just the fact that it’s winter in Riverdale I don’t know, but I do like a collared Ted Baker sweater, they’re a Veronica staple.
Tumblr media
Return of the headscarf! This look would have fit very well with the last episode’s neo noir theme.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes! Veronica’s outerwear game has been bomb this season and this tartan coat joins the ranks of her coat from 3x10 as one of her best. Here she’s meeting Gladys Jones for the first time, so the tartan seems to fit. Aside from V, Jughead is the character who wears the most tartan, so this emphasises the link between the two in this moment.
Tumblr media
Damn, she looks great. This could be the same underwear set from 3x01, I’m not sure.
Tumblr media
There are so many fake gargoyle kings this season, where is everybody getting their ouftits it is truly baffling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We last saw this top is 2x22, when she was getting her money back from Hiram. I’m still not really a huge fan.
Total: Six outfits
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nada
Favourite: I’m gonna have to say the tartan coat.

Chapter Forty-Six: The Red Dahlia
This is Riverdale’s take on neo-noir and Veronica plays the role of the femme fatale, as a result she wears a lot of black.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This black dress is oddly very reminiscient of Hermione’s black blouse in the final scene of 3x04, the Midnight Club. She’s definitely further on her family’s side due to Hiram’s shooting, while in this episode Hermione is very much at odds with Hiram. Maybe I’m reading too much into things and she’s just wearing a black dress. Veronica wears black for virtually all of this episode, this could be due to the noir episode, her being in mourning, or just a personal style choice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damn, she looks straight out of a 40s noir. This fur collared coat is not a new style for Veronica, although this episode takes it to a whole new level. This hat also fits very well with the noir theme. Our girl is very dramatic so it fits that she would dress up like this for a trip to the Blue and Gold.
Tumblr media
I like Jughead’s cosy sweater and suspenders, v autumnal!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veronica spends the majority of the episode in this outfit, it’s cute. This skirt is very long, this isn’t new for V but she’s been favouring a midi style recently. This blouse is also keeping with her usual styles with the sleeveless look, bow, and mesh panel. The silver circle pattern is pretty new though, they kinda look like little eyes which fits this eps creepy vibe. This top was originally part of a jumpsuit, which isn’t exactly peak Veronica.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Long black coat, silk scarf, leather gloves... She looks very much like a mob boss here, which is probably apt given that she’s covering for Hiram during his recovery. This continues the noir style well and honestly she just looks like a badass.
Tumblr media
She makes one last appearance in this hat, with a v neck belted coat and a long skirt. Honestly she’s looked fire this entire episode, noir style suits her well which is a given since much of her style is very 40s/50s anyways.
Total: Five outfits
Cape Count: It would have fit in perfectly here but it makes no appearance.
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nope
Favourite: Probably the first silk black dress
Tumblr media
See your for the next one!

Chapter Forty-Five: The Stranger
Archie returns to Riverdale and Veronica has some pretty mixed feelings about it, let’s have a look!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This yellow and burgundy look is very colour coordinated, I’m impressed. This style of blouse is becoming more and more familiar to us, as are sleeveless shirts which Veronica has been wearing consistently since the first season. It’s very intricate, with the bow, lacey chest and ruffled sleeves, and she’s paired with a matching tartan skirt. I wasn’t able to get a good shot of the skirt, but it seems to be another longer hemmed high waisted number. She also wearing glasses, peak businesswoman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is cute! This white shirt is pretty simple but the glittery bow takes it up a notch. We last saw this style of large sequined bow in 2x15, I’m a fan. The blue and yellow colour scheme of this tartan mini skirt is fairly new to us but I like it. There’s a lot of yellow in this episode already, perhaps foreshadoing Hiram’s shooting at the end?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This dress is fairly similar to the ones she wore in the last episode, particuarly in it’s silouhette. Season three is really blessing us with Veronica’s formalwear!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is another fun, slightly sixties inspired short sleeve sweater. A lot of the characters, especially Betty and Alice, wear a lot of 60s/70s style outfits, so this fits with the overall vibe. Maybe it’s the influence of the farm, although Veronica isn’t really involved with that plot. I don’t know but I like this top. It seems to be paired with a dark mini skirt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We never get a good look at this outfit either, but it seems to be a grey ribbed short sleeve sweater and a pretty basic black mini skirt. She also appears to be wearing the white band bracelet we’ve seen a few times before, especially in episodes where her and Archie are broken up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This outfit is very similar to one she wore in 3x07, which also involved a ruffled white blouse with a black bow paired with a high waisted black skirt. This could easily be the same blouse. It’s very professional and schoolgirl esque, fitting for taking the SATs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This coat is amazing, and it fits with the yellow and burghundy theme this episode has been delivering on. Yellow is often tied to Veronica’s stories with her family and right now she’s dealing with her father’s shooting. She looks bomb though, I wish I could find this coat somewhere!
Tumblr media
We don’t see much of this one, but the scalloped coat is here again, and hopefully back for good, It seems to be worn over a dark blue top.
Total: Eight outfits
Cape Count: Some great outerwear this ep, but the cape does not appear
Teardrop Pearl Count; I’m starting to lose hope...
Favourite: That magnificant coat!
See you for the next episode!

Chapter Forty-Four: No Exit
Veronica wears some great dresses in this episode, let’s take a look!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This dress is insane, thank god for the speakeasy looks! The seuqined black look really calls back to her homecoming dress all the way back in 1x11, while the silver shoulder patch and drapey belt add another touch of fun. This is just such a fun look, I want this dress! She’s forgone any necklaces, but these huge silver earrings more than make up for it. Season three’s interesting jewelry trend is rolling on!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This outfit is very reminiscent of the one she wore in 3x04 due to the burghundy polo shirt. This one is different though, as it doesn’t have any contrasting stripes and it has these fancy gold and pearl buttons. This was orignally a dress but the wardrobe team cropped it. It’s paired with a black floral and striped skirt, this one also goes for the longer style Veronica’s been wearing a lot this season. The florals and polo shirt makes it very season three, I’m a fan! In season two this would have almost definitely been worn with her teardrop pearl, but season three V hasn’t really been wearing all that many pearls, she’s really diverging from the Lodge brand.
Tumblr media
Nice to see Hiram in a fur collared coat, like father like daughter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a new coat! On first glance it seems like a pretty normal black coat, but peep the pearls on the lapels, Veronica does not do basic!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another short sleeved sweater. This one has polka dots - a big season three motif - and it’s in the mustard/orange shade. Mustard often crops up when Veronica is having problems with her family, right now she’s fighting with her father. It’s paired with a drak blue A-line skirt and what appears to be a white bow belt. I also like the simple gold necklace, she’s really going for gold his season.
Tumblr media
Another look at the cape, I’m glad it’s cropped up so much these past few episodes after being gone for nearly a whole season!
Tumblr media
This is intruiging me, so I’m mad we never see the bottom of it. A white blouse with shoulder pads, a bow and a patterned collar, and what appears to be some sort of suspenders or pinafore dress/top thing we never get to see. It’s quite reminiscient of the bow and blouse combo she wore in 2x16, although she was firmly with her family in that episode.
Tumblr media
Cape and pearls! This is a fun little throwback to baby Veronica in 1x01. I hope the cape wasn’t too hot for sitting in front of that fire!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another speakeasy dress, this one is satin purple! I have to love the elbow length gloves, they’re perfectly dramatic for Veronica. I also love the matching silver straps, earrings and necklace. She looks bomb!
Total: Eight, although that does include two pieces of outerwear
Cape Count: It crops up twice!
Teardrop pearl count: Nada
Favourite: The first speakeasy dress
Tumblr media
See you soon!

Chapter Forty Three: Outbreak
This is one of those really weird episodes of Riverdale, but Veronica does wear some great outfits.
Tumblr media
Vixens uniform (shortly followed by a mass seizure?), we haven’t seen the performance uniforms since 3x02, aka Jailhouse Rock.
Tumblr media
Pops uniform once again, but I’m more focused on that stack of pancakes and blueberries...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veronica spends the majority of this episode in this outfit and it’s very season three! This almost three quarter length sleeve style top has shown up quite a bit and the chain detailing around the neck spices it up a bit. Like I’ve said previously, polka dots are a common motif for Veronica in season three and the appear here in the form of a long high waisted skirt. This is another style we’ve seen a lot of, such as in 3x03 and 3x07.
Tumblr media
Waterboarding Penelope with maple syrup was honestly a step too far for me, combined with the gargoyle stuff this ep really was a lot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This outfit is giving me serious Mod, Swinging Sixties vibes. This skirt has two side pockets with button details and it’s a little looser than Veronica’s usual styles. And this his top is amazing; purple and orange with a geometric pattern and high necked, please put Veronica in more styles like this. She fits the retro style of Pops perfectly in this outfit.
Tumblr media
Scalloped coat returns. This is a deep, deep cut, in fact I don’t think we’ve seen it since 2x08, exactly a season ago. I have professed my love for this coat many times and I am very exicted to see it again!
Total: Five outfits, including one outerwear piece over another outfit.
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Again, nope!
Favourite: Mod outfit with the scalloped coat on top!
Tumblr media
See you for the next episode!

Chapter Forty Two: The Man in Black
Much like the seventh episode of the last season, this one is split into parts. This means we don’ see all that much of Veronica, but she does a lot with the time she has.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is new! Black skater skirt is very Veronica but I love this sleeveless argylle sweater, it’s such a preppy pattern I’m surprised it’s taken this long to see it on her. It’s a fun look for moving into your speakeasy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some satiny pyjamas in, I think, purple or blue, and the return of the eye mask.It does look kinda chilly for bedtime though!
Tumblr media
Pops uniform again...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lighting in this episode is kinda off so I’m struggling to identify everything, but this seems to be a short sleeved black sweater and a tan bodycon skirt. This style of skirt is one that we see Betty in quite often, and havent seen V in before. It is very cute though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is very schoolgirl chic, I’ve been rewatching Gossip Girl recently and this is giving me season one Blair Waldorf vibes. This white ruffled blouse is very preppy and I like the bow detail. This very high waisted style of skirt isn’t new for Veronica, we saw it in 3x03. It’s all very innocent for a girl whose about to start running an illegal gambling ring in her speakeasy, as the average seventeen year old girl does.
Tumblr media
Pops uniform again, I really have nothing to say about it. However, weirdly I do think it’s oddly flattering - Camila looks great in yellow!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veronica’s dress for the party is insane, and I love Reggie’s tartan trousers. This shimmery grey fabric is amazing and the drape on her shoulder is great, she looks absolutely stunning. She’s gone for yet another black and gold belt and some insane jewelry; these fringed earrings are amazing! It’s nice to see another interesting necklace, season three has had a real turn away from the pearls.
Tumblr media
Our last look is another Pops uniform.
Total: Eight outfits
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Hasn’t been seen since season two!
Favourite: Speakeasy dress, no competition

Chapter Forty-One: Manhunter
This is a fun episode, we get one of Veronica’s most memeable lines yet, and that’s really saying something.
Tumblr media
Our first outfit is no outfit at all! I really hope they washed those sheets, god knows who else has been in them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet another instance of Veronica’s friends just straight up bothering Hiram, it’s my favourite running joke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is both new and familiar, it feels like something Veronica would wear, but all the pieces are new to us. The black collar and lace chest on this navy shirt follow this idea, it’s very Veronica. This black skirt is quite matching, with lace florals, and it’s paired with another bow belt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Cape returns! Oh how I have missed it. We haven’t seen Veronica in a cape since 2x09, and the last time we saw this specific black one was all the way back in 2x04, so it’s a pretty deep cut. Veronica does some extensive snooping in this episode so it makes sense that she’s back in the cape, her designated adventure/investigation outerwear. This gold band is cute, and similar to similar pieces we’ve seen on Veronica, notably her gold band from 2x08 which is the last time an episode saw Archie and Veronica break up.
Tumblr media
Certified iconic line, Hiram won this round.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet another ridicolously lareg bow, I’m really starting to grow fond of them, interestingly the first time this style debuted was also in 2x08... Anyway, this one is placed on top of another sleeveless top, this one is white, It’s paired with what appears to be a fuzzy tartan skirt (as someone from Scotland I’m well accustomed to this type of skirt). The monochromatic style of this look feels interesting to me, I don’t really know why but I feel like its signifying the break up in this scene.
Tumblr media
Another Riverdale line for the ages. I like the fact that after getting dragged for this one the writers just doubled down and kept having people say it.
Tumblr media
Don’t get me wrong, I like Varchie, but the implications of Archie breaking up with Veronica and immediatly disembarking on a homoerotic road trip with Jughead...
Total: Four
Cape Count: She’s back baby!
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nope
Favourite: I’m gonna have to say the cape, neither of her outfits from this episode really spoke to me.
Tumblr media
See you for the next episode!

Chapter Forty: The Great Escape
This is another one of my top tier Riverdale episodes, 3a was so fun!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our first Veronica look involves glasses, a slightly scoop necked black sweater, and this navy pleated skirt, tied together with her studded belt. I love to see Veronica in glasses, she always looks so put together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our next look is one we see for literally two seconds, but it appears to be a sleeveless round necked black top.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Monica Posh returns, in her blonde wig and this intense purple dress. While the longer length and black sleeve cuffs are undeniably Veronica styles there’s something about this dress that feels like a very exaggerated version of a dress Veronica might wear. This might be weird but it seems almost comics inspired, I don’t know. I do like the peplum detail and black belt, it works for her disguise.
Tumblr media
Very cute bra underneath, Veronica knew what she was going to be getting into..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veronica has worn this type of scoop neck sleeveless tank top style a a few times this season, such as the polka dot one she wore in 3x01.
Tumblr media
This shoe is fantastic, I love how monochromatic Veronica went for this look, she’s so overdramatic lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a whole lotta look. First of all, this dogtooth - not houndstooth despite the similar name and style - print maxi skirt is again an incredibly exaggerated version of a Veronica look. I could see her wearing a mini skirt version of this is her usual life. It’s paired with this black sleeveless top and some OTT black elbow length gloves, she really does look like a pretentious rich person.
Tumblr media
This is yet another interesting necklace, there’s been a lot of them this season. It makes sense here that she’s forgoing her usual pearls, but she needs something on her neck.
Total: Six outfits, including two Monica Posh looks
Cape Count: Nope...
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nada
Favourite: Monica Posh dogtooth skirt, no question

Chapter Thirty Nine: The Midnight Club
This has been an episode I’ve been excited and nervous to jump into for quite a while. While it’s undoubtedly one of my favourite Riverdale episodes of all time, it’s also one that barely features Veronica. While I’ll only be focusing on her outfits, I will take a look at Hermione’s and offer whatever commentary I can!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is one of my favourite Veronica outfits of all time, I just love everything about it. We’ve seen quite a lot of this polo shirt style before, but this one is a cut above the rest; this burgundy colour with pink and white contrasting stripes is great. It was actually altered by the wardrobe team to be more cropped and tight, which is fun as we haven’t seen Veronica in a crop top since 2x13. I belive this is the same grid patterned skirt from 2x14, and I’m excited to see it crop up again. This is where we see the last of Veronica so I’ll jump into Hermione’s wardrobe.
Tumblr media
Not to be thirsty on main but I think I’m slightly in love with Lili Reinhart as youg Alice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hermione really only wears the same few pieces over the course of the episode; long sleeves shirt, short sleeved blouse, knee high socks, blue tartan skirt, bow tie, cardigan, and sweater vest. Although it’s explicity poited out that her family aren’t well off, I don’t think this is a specific character choice as all the characters rewear the same pieces: Alice with her jeans and flannel, Sierra with her pink jeans, Penelope with her vest and denim dress. Most likely the wardrobe team just didn’t want to buy an excess of pieces for just one episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These could easily be the same piece, I honestly can’t really tell. It is interesting to see young Hiram and Hermione. Anyway, sorry if this one was short and boring, I don’t really have all that much to say about Hermione’s catholic schoolgirl outfits lol!
Total: One Veronica outfit
Cape Count: Nope
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nada
Favourite: There’s only one but it would be my favourite even if there wasn’t, I just love that look!

See you for the next episode!

Chapter Thirty Eight: As Above, So Below
This episode contains a lot of speakeasy action and I am living for it!
Tumblr media
Pops uniform, glasses, this is Veronica at peak businesswoman, I love it. I also like this new bracelet, a pretty simple gold band. Season three seems to feature less pearls than before and more gold jewelry, which I think is exciting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This feels very fresh, a real departure from season two. Here Veronica’s wearing scalloped button up shorts and a scoop neck white top, a style she last wore when repping the Red Circle. We’re starting to see more of Veronica in fancy shorts, a style I’m quite excited by.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is very fun. This might be the most yellow top we’ve seen Veronica in yet and, just as before, shes wearing during a struggle with her family. The white ruffle on the collar is ridicolous, but in a way that somehow works for me. It’s paired with this knee length lacey honeycombed pattern skirt. This outfit feels kinda like an exaggerated version of her usual collared shirt and skirt outfit combos, but I’m kind of loving it.
Tumblr media
Reggie is honestly a comedian, I loved his and Veronica’s relationship in season three.
Tumblr media
These polka dot bow heels are cute but the sinking into the dirt is tressing me out. As I’ve previously said, season three is already rife with polka dots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another pair of shorts! These are paired with a lace and floral blouse and, again, she looks classy and casual at the same time. One theme of season three, so far, is that a lot of Veronica’s looks are quite a bit more casual than in season one and two. This could be as a result of her shaking off the Lodge family influence or it could just still be summery in Riverdale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The black catsuit from 2x17 returns for yet another covert mission. Veronica looks like a sexy spy and I am living for it.
Tumblr media
Veronica and Toni once again said #titsoutforcheryl, they are honestly a duo I love to see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This look is stunning, Veronica really chose the right look for the speakeasy opening. This purple dress literally makes her shimmer and the floral jewel belt is amazing. I love this style of hair for her, and the silver clip matched her belt well. It’s interesting to see that she’s not wearing a necklace. In season one this wiuld undoubtedly be acessorized with a set of pearls but here she’s striking out on her own, Veronica’s really growing into her own.
Tumblr media
I’m impressed that they splashed out on shadow dances for the speakeasy, how fancy!
Tumblr media
This is, I’m pretty sure, the same dressing gown from 2x14. It’s still just as cute.
Total: Seven outfits
Cape Count: Nada
Teardrop Pearl Count: I’m really starting to miss it
Favourite: Speakeasy dress, no competition

See you for the next one!

Chapter Thirty Seven: Fortune and Men’s Eyes
Archie’s in juvie, Veronica’s performing in front of it, and Betty and Jughead are investigating the Gargoyle King. All in all another normal day in Riverdale.
Tumblr media
Our first look is the Pops uniform, not much to say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This tank top style has been showing up a lot the past few episodes, is it a more casual side of Veronica coming through or is it just really hot in Riverdale, who knows? Pleated skirts are not new for Veronica, but the polka dots jazz it up and make it more season three appropriate. It’s further dressed up with this diamond encrusted belt.
Tumblr media
Florals, short sleeve sweater. It’s all very Veronica. I like these diamond flower shaped earrings, and we see the return of her pearl band necklace.
Tumblr media
Pops uniform again. I find this very similar to her Vixens uniforms as they both crop up a lot but I never really have anything to say about them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now this is exciting, we’ve got some trousers. Not Carrie the Musical flared jeans, not running through the snow to save Cheryl trousers. These are full on, boss bitch, businesswoman black slacks, and I love them! This is a long overdue style for Veronica and I hope we get to see more of it when she returns as a fully fledged businesswoman in the season five time jump. Here she’s establishing the innocence project and taking matters into her own hands, she has to look the part. She’s gone for yet more polka dots in the form of this bandeau top.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know this is a meme but I really do love this moment, Archie really is kind and naive enough to believe a game of football could fix the prison industrial system.
Tumblr media
Veronica last wore this jumper in 2x03, and watch out for its yellow sister which will be cropping up in the back half of the season!
Tumblr media
It’s paired with this longer hemmed black skirt and this studded pearl belt. This is notably not her usual pearl belt, or the pearl belt with the gold bow. She owns a lot of them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Veronica in her Vixens performace uniform, I believe the last time was in 1x11. I still ove the pom pom trainers.
Tumblr media
Our third (3!) Pops uniform look today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I told you that the headscarf would return! Veronica dresses as ‘Monica Posh’ in this black and white collared dress, a blonde wig, and a great pair of sunglasses. She looks like a sexy secret agent and I love it.
Total: Nine outfits, season three generally has more per episode.
Cape Count: Nada
Teardrop Pearl Count: Nope
Favourite: Bandeau top and black trousers

See you for the next one!
