If you or anyone reading this is interested, I have 2 book recommendations that helped me out with my love life a lot. I am not a professional and I might be deluding myself, but I still hold out hope that love exists (just not the kind you see in old Disney movies)

All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks. A feminist perspective on love, both platonic and romantic, and ways to recognize and heal wounds inflicted by lovelessness. Not light reading by any stretch of the word, but worthwhile if you don’t plan on finishing it in a day

Attached: The New Science of Adult Relationships by Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. A handbook that provides guidance for romantic relationships based on attachment theory, a field of social psychology which studies how long-lasting, healthy intimate bonds are formed. A surprisingly easy read, considering how much research went into it

i was a reddit mod. i moderated r/196. i hate reddit and i hate modding. we had to deal with all sort of BS from the admins because we would approve comments that said “punch nazis” and the endless stream of reports about how this was vIoLeNcE. an admin even removed one of our mods for approving a comment like that.

reddit was great for being an archive of highly specific solutions to decade old tech problems, but at a certain point, i stopped engaging with it. the comment sections are over saturated and it’s impossible to have a conversation with a thousand top-level comments all spewing the same joke for karma.
