When I was in middle school, I was basically addicted to eating raw uncooked pinto beans and would bring them to school in a mint can

And When I was in math class, my teacher would confiscate any phones he saw out and especially if they fell on the floor. So when I was in class, my bean can slide out of my pocket and made a big clang sound on the floor makeing everyone look at me.

Expecting my teacher to take my " phone" I told " oh no it just my beans" and held up my open bean can.

Causing everyone in the room to laugh at me for 2 minutes straight.

So I had an idea (which is terrible)

You know how in a lot of fantasy, the mages cast spells using spoken words, and then there are sometimes people who can cast with no spoken components?

Imagine if you will. For the last 500 years, that magic is based on how well you can pronounce the spell, and then some guy comes along and figured out that you can cast without actually saying the spell. Now, this guy gives this information to his kingdom or academy or whatever, and a rival organization wants that Info. Now there are magical spies. And when the rivals get their hands on silent spell casting, they enter a new period of unexpected and chaotic fights where you can no longer plan according since you have no way of countering fireball because you don't know it's a fire ball until the thing is flying at you at Mach fuck. This goes on for like 100 years then another guy figures out how to read your casting intent and like the first guy they hand over the information to their respective organization. Now there are people who can read what you're gonna cast and it's back to the old system of cast and counter casting. Or would things start developing differently? What if people still say the words but intent to cast something completely different. What kind of mind games will war wizards and battle mages play?

Anyways that's an idea, I'm not (good) writer so I leave this idea for anyone who wants to take it
