I took her to catch up on lost time
Loved her conversation, a boss mind
Could see the pain behind her coarse eyes
Course meals, or just 4 sides
She wore heels, Jordan 4 fly
The NightFox in his Nike Shox
She thought that my cap spelled Sex
I told her nah that’s for the White Sox

I Hit that Ginobili with my Left Hand
A lot of us young Black men don't remember, or put in context, how nice Manu Ginobili & Tony Parker were during the mid-2000's when they helped Tim Duncan win 3 rings.
This could be because:
1) They were from different countries and didn't resonate with us.
2) They played for the Spurs, who many of us see / saw as "boring".
3) We were teenagers, running the streets, before the life of social media & apps
4) It's become cool to discredit Kobe Bryant, going so far as pundits putting Tim Duncan over him.
This is not to discredit Tim Duncan, their leader, but more to give them props. Tim Duncan gets mentioned as the greatest PF, often because he has the most rings, but, he also played steadily under a great coach, came under the mentor ship of David Robinson, and had great guards on his team, in his prime.
It was Manu who brought the Euro game, that D-Wade later mastered (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8J6zdATFR0). He also brought the step-back jumper in, that James Harden has mastered (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUzZk_fdLnk).
Speaking of D-Wade, he gets put as the 3rd best SG of all-time - which is fine with me - however, he only really led 1 of his 3 championships (2006), where as Manu led 2 of his 4.
It was Manu that shouldv'e won Finals MVP in 2005 & 2007 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13Y9ucKnfE8&t=243s) .
Basically, if Tony & Manu were Black, they would get more props as ballers.
It was Manu who led Argentina to an Olympic Gold against the US, and made the US have to re-install a "Dream Team" in international play.
It was Manu & Tony Parker that led the Spurs past those Jason Kidd & Steve Nash classic point guard led teams, consistently, in the 2000's (Mavericks & Suns + Nets).
They seldom beat the Lakers though, before 2005, and after 2007 when Kobe got the team back right. But somehow Tim Duncan is greater than Kobe bc of his "steady career," when he got his last 3 rings in years when the Lakers were trash. That steady career, on the floor, is attributed to Tony Parker, and even more, Manu.
