Challenge Seven - The Caning
Ah! First, so sorry that this is going up so late, we were busy today. Second, four girls left! Third, it’s the challenge Grace and I have been waiting for so long to make.
In this challenge you will have to write about your point of view of the caning. The fics below shows different perspectives of what happened. Take into account all of the actions during the caning, as they will help with dialogue, action, and other things missing from one fic that might be in the other. The girls aren’t right next to the royals, but by the crowd. They aren’t able to hear what the royals are saying to one another. The selected are unaware of everything before and after the caning.
Things to include in this fic
Your maids rushing to get you changed (black dresses)
Inner monologue
Dialogue from the royal fics
Feelings about the caning and everything overall
Side rps (optional) (excluding Malloy and Charlie)
Message us for any questions!

Don't feel lonely, you got your ego to keep you company❤
Thanks for pointing it out, now that I think of it my ego is the best. I’ll ditch the selection and be happy with my ego instead.

C6 - the rebel attack
[Hiii! Here is my challenge fic! I’m sorry if it’s all messy, with typos and grammar/spelling mistakes everywhere but you’ll just have to deal with that haha. It’s a miracle I finished this on time! A very big thank you to Grace @mallory-schreave and Claire @nathaniel-schreave Warning: cursing]
It’s down to 6 girls. Including myself. So 5 other competitors.
Clove. Eloise. Marshall. Venus. Fleur. And me.
Everyone seemed to be having a best friend in here. But since Aada got eliminated, I was all by myself. Sure Fleur was nice, but unfortunately I didn’t see her around that much.
The fresh ocean air brushes my skin. The sand between my toes makes me feel relaxed.
Breath in breath out.
The wind blows through the palm trees. A ruffling sound fills the air.
I finish my daily beach walk and return back to the palace gardens. I find the youngest princess chilling on a sunbed.
I greet her as I sit down on the edge of the pool. I let my feet slip in to the warm water.
A weird sound fills the air. It’s a thudding noise. Like feet, wearing heavy shoes, pounding on grass and stone.
The sound is growing louder and louder.
Was that a fucking gun shot?
Guards are rushing over, followed by more footsteps.
“What’s going on?”
From the corner of my eye, I see Mallory get up and grab her stuff. “/Shoot/!”
“What’s happening?” I turn to the princess who is already made her way away from the pool.
“/Rebels/” she follows the guards.
I jump to my feet as I hurry after them. On the the way I twist my ankle, which leads to me falling in a rose plant. The thorns cut my upper leg. I wince as a stinging pain spreads through the rest of my right leg.
But I can’t stay behind, so I bite through the pain and run after them.
We arrive somewhere though I have no clue where exactly, I have never been in this part of the palace before. If it’s even part of the palace, it feels more like a cave to me.
And then the door is closed. We’re locked.
So this is how Derek felt.
I start fidgeting with my hair, when I realise Mallory is also here. “Are you okay? Did you get hurt?”
“I’m fine. I just haven’t done this before.”
Breath in breath out.
So this is a rebel attack! Is this only happening here? Or all over Illéa? What about my parents? They don’t have a safe room.
“Well no me neither obviously.” I blurt it out before I can think of something better to say. I clear my throat, “sorry. Uhm well we’re safe here right?”
“We should be. We can’t get out and they can’t get in.”
“Fair enough,” I mumble as I sit down on the floor. “Do you think the others made it to the safe room?”
“Maybe not everyone yet…” she says as she steps away from door. “There’s no guarantee the all will.” She must be worried for her family. “Ugh, why me?”
“Why you what?”
“Why am I in this situation? It’s totally unfair.” The princess starts whining. Is she kidding me right now?
I try to organize my thoughts so I can come up with a proper sentence. It’s obvious Mallory is having a harder time than me. “Okay uhm listen, I obviously have no experience with situations like this one but I’m sure it will be fine eventually.” I sigh, “the guards must know what they’re doing right?”
No response. Be the bigger person, Vic.
“Hey we will get out of here, I promise. And everything and everyone will be fine.”
“How do you know?” She says that in a mean way.
“Because your family loves you, they will go looking for you and they will get you out of here.” I sigh, “try positive thinking, the good people will beat the evil ones.” Maybe I should become a priest or something.
Now it’s her turn to sigh. “Since when are you Mr. Rogers?”
“I’ll take that as a compliment thanks.” I shrug, knowing damn well that panicking will not help us here. “Thinking about worst case scenarios isn’t going to help anyone.”
“Something just doesn’t feel right.” The princess sits down on a cot. Why didn’t I see that one before? Now I’m sitting on the dusty floor. But it feels cold on my skin, which calms me down a teeny tiny bit.
Talking to Mallory helps me to forget about the dangerous situation taking place right behind that door. Okay not forget about it, more like not thinking about it every damn second.
“Any regrets you want to spill why we’re in here?”
I think for a minute, even though I already know my answer. “I’ve locked my ex boyfriend in a bathroom on a boat.” I look at the ground, which makes me realize that my legs are completely covered with the dusty sand.
“That’s a regret? I’d like to do that,” the princess admits.
“Yes I regret it a little bit, just because he only partly deserved it. Anyways, who would you like to lock somewhere then?”
She taps her foot on the floor, making some of the dust fly up in the air. “An ex.”
“Hmm I see. Well if you need help with that, you know where to find me.” I mean I’m a professional.
She laughs, “what’d your ex do?”
“He thought it was okay to invite paparazzi to our private date.” I sigh at the memory. Not my greatest moment.
“Using you for attention, huh?”
“That’s what I thought.” I look down again, “until he wrote me a letter a few weeks ago, telling me he was going to propose that day. And that the paparazzi thing wasn’t his idea.”
I look up just in time to see Mallory’s jaw drop. “What’re you going to do?”
“Nothing. I don’t love him anymore. He has broken my trust.”
“Damn…” she lets out a breath. “That’s insane.”
“I know right.” I massage my temples. At one point I could see myself having a family with Derek. But now I’m here in a safe room far away from home. Life can take crazy turns.
“I’m pretty sure my ex was using me for my status.” Mallory kicks at floor. There is definitely some frustration left.
This must be hard for her. She’s a princess after all.
“Oh that sucks! Why are boys so dumb?” I slowly shake my head. “Did you give him a piece of your mind?”
“I tried.” She sighs. “He didn’t take it too well.”
Geez I feel like punching that dude in the face. What an idiot.
“Yikes, he sounds worse than my ex. You could always lock him in a bathroom or tie him to a chair. Show him you’re in charge.”
“I would, but he owns a gun,” the princess jokes. “He’s a guard.” Okay maybe not punch him in the face then.
“Ow geez, so he could be dangerous. Can’t you get him stationed somewhere else in Illéa?” I mean he’s a guard and she’s a princess. Mallory must have the power to do that.
The princess shrugs, “that would mean telling my parents about him.”
“Wait. They don’t know this?” No judging from me, I mean I haven’t told anyone about Derek’s letter. Mallory is the only one who knows now.
“Definitely not! I’d be grounded for /years/.”
“Fair enough. But is he dangerous though, do you feel unsafe around him? Sorry, this is probably none of my business.” Maybe I’m crossing a line here but I just want to make sure she’s safe here.
She waves her hand, “you’re fine. We’re stuck in here, right? Might as well talk.” The princess shrugs, “to answer your question, a bit.”
Oh fuck. Guards are supposed to make you feel safe. Not unsafe. This is not okay.
“That’s not good. Do you think he’s capable of hurting you?”
“Well, yeah. But he won’t. I know that.” Mallory sounds pretty sure. But boys are still boys. They only have think about one thing: power. Oh and sex, so make that two things.
“Okay that’s something. Does anyone else know about this?”
“Yeah, this other guy…”
This catches me by surprise, there’s another boy. “Mysterious. Is he your friend?” I say as I raise my eyebrows.
Mallory shrugs, “I guess. He’s more of a confidant.”
I know it’s probably not my place to ask more about their relationship, so I decide to let it go. “Fair enough. Does he also live in the palace?”
“Duh. It’s not like I meet people outside.”
“Sorry,” I rolls my eyes, “you could have a pen pal for all I know. Alright, so your ex knows him as well?”
“More or less. They know /of/ eachother. What about you? Do you still keep in contact with your ex?” Mallory changes the subject, and even though I’d love to ask more about her mysterious confidant I decide to let it go.
“Uhm no I don’t. Well he sent me that letter, but I never responded. So technically we’re not in contact.”
“Do you think you’ll respond?” Is that a hint of curiosity in her voice?
“I don’t see why I should respond.” Derek is my ex for a reason. I don’t want anything from him.
“True. But you’ll never know, which sucks.”
“Exactly. Boys are just dumb.” I sigh, where are all the good guys? I mean they must be out there somewhere?
Nate is a good one, I know that. But there are 6 girls fighting for him. That means there’s a 16,67% chance he’ll be mine. Perhaps even less.
There’s some yelling on the other side of the door. I see Mallory wince.
Then the door opens, fresh air blows inside. There are two silhouettes standing there, “you can come outside now, it’s safe.”
The guards tell us to go meet Nate. So that’s what I do.
I tap on his shoulder, “Nate? I’m sorry to bother, you must busy and worried and- I don’t know. I was told to go meet you.” Why am I out of breath? I’m supposed to be the sporty one, I can’t be out of breath from walking the stairs.
“Hey, I’m glad you’re safe. Did you get in a safe room okay?” His voice is very warm and soothing. It helps me calm down a little, get my breathing under control.
“Yes I did I mean we did, I was with Mallory actually. The guards reacted super quickly.” I fiddle with my hair. “What about you? Are you okay? Did you get hurt?” Why am I talking this fast?
“Yeah I’m fine, I knew what to do. I just was worried about all of you.” Why is he so precious?
I nod my head slowly, “I understand. Are the other girls okay?”
“Yeah,” he looks around. I follow his gaze. I now see that Clove, Fleur and Venus are also here. “So far I think only Venus was hurt, but she did that herself.”
Of course Venus hurt herself. She always does. The other day when she drowned herself in the pool and now this. Someone needs to keep an eye on her.
“Oh I hope she’s alright,” I fiddle with my dress, “and hopefully everyone else is okay as well.”
“I’m sure they will be.”
I look down, my legs still have a greyish glow over them. I need to wash the sand of me later. That reminds me of the scratches on my leg, there’s some blood there but I’m sure I’ll survive. “Anyways I’ll leave you to it. I’m gonna go sit on that sofa there.”
The Prince nods as he looks around. “I’ll see you around.”
I nod as I walk away. I can’t help but feel a little lonely, even though I’m in a crowded room.
