something I filled before my computer went out of commission for a bit and totally forgot about! she's the only OC I currently have with a design and who was made less than 2 years ago, so I've never really drawn her in the previous styles. kinda made for a fun what-if!

changing art styles is easy. recapturing a style that You Yourself used to draw in is surprisingly hard!

I've been listening to a lot of tmbg's "the spine" and its little sibling EP "the spine surfs alone" lately, which recently turned 20/is about to. I didn't know about them back then, but I was vaguely introduced to the band for the first time about a year later through their hsr collaborations, and it gives their music releases from that period an odd sense of nostalgia.

thinking about that, coupled with making this post about what type of character that track brings to mind for me, got me wanting to make something Super self-indulgent. the kind of thing I would've wanted to draw in 2004 if I'd only had the ability to.

I didn't have much time to consider panel layout or speech bubble placement, but that's fine because it's precisely in spirit with the whole thing (gripping desk) it's fine actually
