A Trip to Intramuros, San Agustin Church, National Museum, and the Chinese Garden

Our aunt Nani just came back from Indonesia, she's a missionary and she's serving there. She would be staying in Manila for a few days and wanted to spend time with us :) We headed to Intramuros first.

It's actually my first time to go to Intramuros hehe I was really amazed by how well preserved that place is. The walls itself dates back to over 300 years ago.

I really like the fact that there were so many pigeons just flying around the place, you could even feed them if you had bread crumbs. It's like you're in Milan, just hotter HAHA! We went to Fort Santiago, where Rizal was held captive. His last steps before he was killed was even memorialized. It was a great day to head out because the weather was really good, not too sunny and not too cold. There were so many murals on the walls and so many instagrammable spots! Even doors were instagram-worthy. Though, I would say some of the structures were so old that parts of them were covered in moss.

We then went to the Rizal Shrine museum. It was filled with paintings, artifacts, sculptures, all of and related to Rizal. Again, instagram-worthy! I'd say it's reasonable considering that some items in the museum are really old and of value.

Then we headed to San Agustin church. Inside the church, there were sections that looked like mini exhibits to me actually. They were all about the church and it's history.

After looking through all the photos, admiring the beauty of the church, and praying for more blessings in life, it was time to go to the Chinese Garden in Luneta. It was also my first time to go there. It was... so green! There was a lake inside the garden but it was disappointing because the water was green :( I hope to see that in the future, the water of this lake would be cleaned.

Finally, our last stop. The National Museum of Natural History! We went there on a weekend (a bad idea) and we had to wait in line because there were so many people 😥

We were able to go in, finally. Again another first time for me 😄 We were greeted by a life-sized statue of Lolong, the longest and largest crocodile in the world to be held in captivity. There were so many new installations inside the museum and even interactive ones like the shading of leaves under paper :)

We had a really great time. It was tiring, but everything was worth it especially when you have lots of photos to post on Instagram!

Our aunt treated us at the Upside Down Museum in Pasay. We had loads of fun with our little cousin Kian, and another cousin Santiago. The place was kind of small though, compared to how i imagined it. And there were lots of people on the day we went so it was really hard to get good photos. Another downside of it was that the sights weren’t really that great, so personally I think we should‘ve just gone to another museum ☜

Rorec Face Mask: Yogurt [✦✦✦✦✧]

When we went to Divisoria, I bought these face masks for only 10PHP. One of which is this Rorec Face Mask Yogurt Flavor.

Review: 💞 Packaging - It was a shiny matte with a cute color scheme and also the yakult is so kawaii –– 9.7 💞 Smell - It had a faint smell of citrus –– 7.4

💞 Face mask - It was super thin which was great, feels like there’s nothing there! Super recommend for irritable skins –– 9.8 💞 Essence - It was sticky and doesnt dry easily. It can be used by three people though because it was just too much –– 8.5 💞 After-feel - It was really sticky but after it dries, it was really smooth. In the morning when I washed it, it was slimyy haha other face masks werent like that so idk –– 6.5

GALILEO ENOTECA [A REVIEW]

A friend of mine, Airam Dominique, treated us at Galileo Enoteca. It is a small Italian deli and winery located in Mandaluyong. Sadly though, Carol and Robynne couldn’t join us that day. The place was filled with stacks and stacks of wine displayed against the walls, cheese ready to be served upon request, and delicate raw meat that is a great pairing to the wine.

Here’s what we had:

Side dish: Sliced bread with dips [9.9]      The dips were so tasty, it wasn’t just normal bread because of those. Pizza: Quattro Formaggi [7.6]      Tastes like plain old mozzarella pizza

Pizza: Shrimp and Garlic [8.6]      Shrimp wasn’t malangsa at all and the garlic wasnt too strong =) Pasta: Bucatini All'Amatriciana [7.7]      Not a fan of pastas in tomato sauce but I liked the flavor of this one, particularly because it doesn’t tast like tomato at all HAHA 😄 Pasta: Aglio & Olio [8.8] Secondary dish: Chicken Piccata in Lemon Sauce [9.9]       It was delicious and cooked really well, the sald that goes with it was okay too. Secondary dish: Fish Fillet [9]

and of course, a wine set with assorted cold cuts and cheese [10]

Accessibility: 8.4/10      Not really familiar with the place but from Manila going to Mandaluyong, it took us a short time to arrive there. Ambience: 10 Food overall: 8.9 Interior: 10 Service: 10 Crew: 9.2 Other amenities: 9      Is the price justifiable for the food? No, it’s too expensive!! The food’s really great though.

Overall Rating: 9.3/10
