A friend snapped me these photos and it made me so incredibly happy. there are a lot of people trying to keep bisexuals and asexuals out of LGBTQ+ spaces and it warms my heart to see The Stonewall Inn including these groups in the community.

Hmmm alright. Thank you for the advice @kitfistovevo and @therealmicharley! I have so many acrylic paints that I was mainly hoping to avoid buying more paints, but I guess overall it can’t be avoided.

I'm cosplaying Kuriyama Mirai from Beyond the Boundary, and I'm making her blood sword. I'm carving it out of insulation foam and then I plan to cast it in resin. However, I've never used resin before, I was wondering if you had any tips on resin casting?
read the instructions and measure properly. You need to make sure you are using the correct amounts so that the chemical reaction properly activates.
If you don’t have access to a vaccumn chanber you can use a heat gun to get air bubbles to rise to the top. A toothpick is also handy for popping them.
use a clean cup and mixing stick.
letting your piece cure in a warm room will allow it to cure a little quicker.
pay attention to your pot life or working time. You will want to work quickly once you’ve mixed the resin.
wear proper ppe, rubber gloves are recommended. Work in a well ventilated area
Hope this helps!— Duckie / Admin

How to Level Up Your Cosplay panel, as given at Krakencon F2016
You’ve made your first cosplays and know the basics, but have you ever wondered how to take your cosplays to the next level? Come get tips on how to improve your skills to create higher quality and more impressive costumes. Topics covered will include costume and material choice, finishing techniques, and creating eye-catching detail.
Old version of the panel contained here. This is the new and improved version.
This is just the bare bones of the panel, as many of the examples were elaborated on in-person, and it is just the slides, not any of my notes. It is not meant to be exhaustive or definitive, and is just meant for general advice and suggestion purposes only. If anyone has feedback they would like to give, feel free to do so. That said, I hope that people find this information useful.
Here is a link to a pdf of the presentation. You may download for personal use, but please do not alter the presentation, repost without permission, or do any sort of other unauthorized use. (If you have a question about how you can use this presentation, please send me a message with your question and we can work it out. I promise I’m not scary. ;]) Feel free to reblog this post as much as you want, though. I do these panels and post them because I want the information to be shared.
I hope someone finds this helpful! :]

Wig Styling: Working with Foam Part 1 of 3 - Planning Your Project
When sitting down to write a foam tutorial for you guys, I realized that this is a really complex topic that will take way more than a single tutorial! This will eventually become a big section in my wigworking guide, so I wanted to keep it pretty detailed. With that in mind, this overview slash planning portion will probably be the first out of three understructure and foam-related tutorials I’ll be posting here. I love using foam for most of my over the top wig structures, but how I use it will often depend on each individual wig:
