Imagine Chimney going through Bobby's desk in his office. Having to clear personal things out. It breaks his heart, but also warms him because the captain was sentimental.

Then he comes across a small blue book labeled simply "Buck." Curious, he opens and flips through it.

Kid has eating problems. Will forget to eat when stressed. Feed him, and encourage him to cook, because he likes to taste-test a lot.

Chimney remembers that. Buck mentioning getting so hungry the starving pains go away. He does remember during the shitty times when Buck lost so much weight.

-Hates Okra

-Probably allergic to shellfish and mangos. Encourage him to get an allergy test

-Allergic to Naproxen

-Allergic to heavy fragrance laundry detergents. Use gentle.

-Remind him he's doing a great job. Use positive reinforcement.

-If he's depressed, as Maddie says, hand him a child. May and Harry work too.

-He's finally gaining weight! :)

-The Buckley parents are banned. Do not ask why. Firehouse is his safe area.

-He fidgets when he's stressed. Have him chop some vegetables or prepare them for you. He loves being helpful.

-He loves his clipboard. Have him organize important events. Give him gold stars. Do not let Hen and Chimney hide it. He gets sad.

-Remind him not to read too close or in the dark. He's gonna need glasses at this point. (If he does, don't let others tease him. Tell him he looks great)

-He doesn't admit it, but his leg still bothers him. Heating blankets are in the closet in the office. Have Eddie massage his leg or send him home early if he's obviously struggling.

Chim laughs. He laughs, and laughs, and starts to cry. Of all things, he did not expect to find a "How to Take Care of Your Buck" guide hidden away in Bobby's desk.

just thought i'd share that as soon as i finished re-watching the pitt with my parents my dad, unprompted, turned to everyone and said, "so, next season mel and langdon are definitely going to show up being together right?"

so if a 57 year-old man can see it then i think all of us are justified as well.

insane chemistry aside, i think mel and langdon would make an incredible couple because it would be nice to see the awkward autistic girl paired up with the man literally nicknamed "ER ken."

like... to most of the others, she's odd and quirky and a lot of people don't understand her or get her humor... except for the 6 foot something dark-haired, blue eyed senior doctor who looks at her like the sun shines out of her ass and goes out of his way to check in on her 4 times in 12 hours and compliments her easily.

maybe years of seeing the awkward, weird girl be the sidekick to supermodel protagonists has irrevocably rewired my brain, but it would be nice to see the weird girl be with the hot guy for once!

no thoughts. just the idea of langdon achieving something (a fellowship, a promotion to attending, another year sober that he's openly proud of) and mel wanting to celebrate her friend. so she writes him an extremely nice note and then thinks, flowers? is that weird? and she asks samira, so wise in the ways of special sauce, if it's weird to non-romantically give a guy flowers, and samira is like 100% more men need to get flowers! (not totally realizing mel is asking abt langdon, who spent 20min groaning abt how Down Bad he is for mel the last time they went out for drinks.) so mel gets langdon a $12.99 bouquet from trader joe's, nothing special, leaves it in his locker with the note, and goes home quite happy with herself. and langdon, who has never been given flowers before, ends up crying in his car on his drive home

which just makes buck’s heart flutter because yeah, people will be calling him diaz now :)

(truthfully he doesn't respond to diaz because he is just so flustered when people call him that, for like a good year or so)

9-1-1 fandom discourse is crazy wdym my choices are either 'eddie is abusive' or 'buck was being a self-centered baby who needed to be taught a lesson' 😭😭😭 wasn't the whole point that eddie lashed out in grief in a characteristically irrational and unfair way that was assholish and that he should apologize for (and DID, in a way that he and buck both understood), and that buck didn't realize the impact of his pain, even internalized, on others, because he's characteristically assuming that his pain doesn't matter, which IS self-centered in a paradoxically selfless way and should be unlearned (which he DOES try to, when eddie calls him out on it)???
