Some slugcat anatomy
An interesting thing about the bodies of slugcats is how they get their names. Despite being mammals, instead of fur, most slugcats have a mucus coat similar to slugs and frogs. This gives them the need to be at least semi aquatic. There’s even a species (A. Caudatoides) that has adapted external gills like salamanders in order to be able to breathe underwater even. Similar to a reverse lungfish.

Some slugcat taxonomy. This includes the order, families, and an example species of each to show genera. Most genera tend to have one species except limosa. Slugcats are in the Ferae clade which includes carnivorans.

"An entity i saw in a dream. This entity is able to be found in what i named "The Kiddie Pool Cavern" a small cave that is dimly lit by a glowing pool that has a floor that looks like those that you would see in a pool for kids.
What is known about this entity: this entity has a greyish-black spiderlike body. Similar to that of a goliath bird eater. Its face is similar to that of a human baby except it’s pale grey with jet-black eyes and a jet-black bloodlike substance coming from the tear glands.Estimated to be the size of a full grown adult man (6’2), this entity is able to outspeed humans and can even kill them. It makes little to no noise when walking as it is an ambush predator. According to my encounter, this entity is hostile to those that enter the cave and chases them only to bite with apparent sharp fangs from behind. When it found me, it bit me at the back of the neck.”
