I wanted Eddie to get yelled at a little bit because I love him so so much but jesus christ dude. Someone shake him by his little gay shoulders PLEASE.

So, I wrote Maddie paying him a little visit after finding out about Texas (Maddie, the woman that you are-)

Summary:

And something new starts to boil beneath Eddie’s skin. Something fiery and sick and scared, and he doesn’t want to let it out because he doesn’t know if he’ll survive it. He doesn’t think he’s meant to.

Maddie's voice trembles when she speaks. “I’m getting sick and tired of people saying they understand him and- and love him but then they treat him like they don’t.”

And that snaps him out of it. “Hey,” Eddie hisses. “I care about him. He knows that. He’s my best friend.”

Her eyes soften. “I think maybe that’s the problem.” She says it quietly, and she sounds exhausted.

forgot to post this here but I posted a donnie-centric fanfic bc I wanted him to HURT and then comforted, idk man, who even does that amirite?

Anyway, here's the summary:

They were about eight years old, maybe nine.

“Who do you wanna be your girlfriend, Don?” Mikey asked.

Donnie looked over at him and felt his face heat up. To be honest, he had never really thought about it. About girlfriends. He looked back at the tv and the actress Raph had been talking about. She was beautiful, with dark blonde hair and soft skin.

Then he looked at the actor she was leaning in to kiss. His flowy dark hair and the way his eyes lingered on the actress’s lips. His neck as he swallowed and his jaw when he finally sealed the kiss. Donnie felt a knot in his stomach and tore his eyes away. He forced them back on Mikey.

“Uhm,” He paused to find his voice. “Maybe that girl from the Pepsi commercial?”

Mikey let out a squeak of agreement. Raph smirked and said “nice”. The knot settled.

OR Donnie thinks he's doing fine living with his secret. Until he gets too comfortable with a boy online and it all comes crashing down.

I fell asleep in my friends' arms. It was eleven at night, we were tired, curled up in a small pile on my tiny bed. I had my head buried in my roommate's side, and one of my closest friend's hand on my shoulder, steadying me. It was quiet and nothingness and peace and their heartbeats in my ears, my hands in their hair.

We pack four people to that little bed, you know. Laps used as footrests, collarbones as pillows, little lights like moonlight in rustic yellow bathed on their faces. The TV plays an anime. The words are repeated by my dear friend on my shoulder, curled close. My legs are asleep; my roommate may be, too.

The cat curls on top of our criss cross mess of legs and arms and heads on chests to absorb the warmth of us all. She purrs in contented peace. When my roommate and I are left alone in the quiet, she cries, and watches the door for our friends' return.

I will never kiss them but the top of their heads. I will never touch but the warmth of their arms. I will never take more than what's freely given, and in return I put my glasses on the bedside table fashioned from a guitar amp, and when I lean into their sides, I pick up my vulnerability and place it in their capable, tender hands.

I sing for them. I cry for them. I work and I run and I withstand the worst of the world for them, because some days I get to cradle their forehead on my shoulder and some days I get to see their shining eyes.

Maybe to you. But look beyond explanation. I love them. With my heart in my unsteady hands, with my nose pressed to the side of their head, with the buzzing in my feet and the warmth all around Iike the sunset pushing into the window.

Is it enough to say I love them? With no strings attached? With reckless abandon and utter devotion and freedom and kindness and fear?

Not to go "if you have ADHD just go for a run" or anything, but I am so serious if you have ADHD you should regularly go outside, no headphones no phone no nothing and just stand and observe for a while until you've had enough. Not until you get bored, until you've had enough. Drink your coffee without watching tiktok. Have a bath without music. Turn down the volume in your headphones. I cannot overstate how much learning to be bored is cruicial with ADHD. Life is not just about pleasure, no matter what your dysregulated dopamine system thinks, and when you teach your brain to be okay with being bored, then boring tasks stop feeling like torture. By letting yourself be bored you are yoinking your system out of the high/low binary and allow for the highs to feel like actual highs and not just anything that isn't low. I am so serious go literally touch grass. Listen to the sounds in your flat. Stimulate your body the way it was designed. It lowers anxiety and makes you feel like you're real and best of all it's completely free

because she was stalking an abuse victim. period. her being abused in the past doesn't give her a pass for stalking someone just like her abuser did. he was RIGHT

of course it doesn't give her a pass, what she did was 100% wrong and messed up, but in no way does it excuse Chimney saying she's just like her abuser. Doug tried to literally kill her, he kidnapped her, physically abused her for YEARS. What Maddie did does simply not equate to that. Yes, she was way out of line and very much in the wrong, but holy shit dude, being compared to the guy who tried to kill her?? she didn't deserve that. Maddie had good intentions, no matter how wrong it was, she genuinely just wanted to help. It's just very much not okay to compare her to Doug like that, saying she's, quote, "exactly like Doug". Nope, nuh uh, that doesn't fly, especially coming from her PARTNER who knows exactly what she went through.

see, I LOVE Chimney, LOVE him, and while he's obviously not without flaws I find him to be a genuinely good guy who tries his best.

But there's just ONE thing I can't really get past??

bc how the hell does this sweet sweet man find himself saying to the love of his life that she's just like her abuser AND GET AWAY WITH IT??

Listen, we've talked about it before, I KNOW, but we know that Maddie 'stalking' and befriending that woman with an abusive husband was wrong and Not Good even though she had good intentions, and yes Chimney was right to call her out on that, but when he said that Maddie was just like Doug I wanted to rip his face off oh my GOD, you don't DO THAT CHIM, you don't compare Maddie to the person who abused her for years, then kidnapped her and TRIED TO KILL HER. How the hell did he get away with that??? like, FUCK, I suppress that scene happening most of the time because I actually like Chimney but my god I get so mad whenever I think about it
