Updated to Chapter 16!!!! I was excited to write this one so I'm glad to have finally got there, the next chapters may not be uploaded as quickly but I'll do my best!

If Leon had found out about the magic, he wouldn't have told anyone, and would have treated and seen Merlin the same as before, though he sure would have made use of Merlin's abilities: he'd have made Merlin his undercover guard inspection assistant. Sometimes he would ask him to put on a disguise, then basically conduct the phishing test on the guards, because apparently they are painfully gullible to Merlin's little tricks. To train the guards for more vigilance, Merlin would have to fake an invasion, steal something valuable from the vaults, Morgana's chambers, Uther's chambers. Leon doesn't even bring Arthur's chambers up, cause that's a whole other story—Merlin could gradually steal all of the prince's clothes and jewels and no one could do anything about it. Leon knows it, but just rolls with this knowledge and decides not to think too much about it. Another time Merlin would be told to steal a horse from the stable. Other times—to straight up knock the guards out. One one occasion even to break a prisoner out of their cell.

Of course, Leon is not worried Merlin would actually get caught—guy's just too good, and the disguise is mere precaution. Still, he needs someone to keep his men at their toes.

The goal of this secret operation is not too favorable for Merlin, obviously. With his destiny and duties requiring him doing magic and sneaking around in forbidden places at forbidden times, more alert guards meant more trouble. As a solution, Leon, to return the favor, covers Merlin from then on, always providing him with alibi. Without question, if Merlin so wishes.

This agreement between the first knight of Camelot and the most powerful sorcerer requires immeasurable mutual trust, since if either were to betray the other, it would have dreadful consequences.
