I saw that you all loved last week’s pirate Julian’s drawing, so this is another one! He comes today at the shout of “board her!" 👀 I do not know about you but I would pleasantly make him easier the maneuver…

Good morning!!

Feeling better today (finally!). I think my little girl’s lullaby from last night worked perfectly on me 🥰

Yesterday afternoon I was laying on bed drawing a little, and thought about doing Julian during his time with the pirates. His hair is a bit longer, he has an earring (OH YEAH), and he doesn’t fit in my sketchbook so longlegged he is…  I can clearly see him on my mind, climbing to the top of the mainmast, and looking eagerly into the distance. My dear adventurer/doctor/pirate/drunken/roudy/slippery boy!

The cold I catch the other day is getting worse. Last night I had fever and I couldn’t sleep well. But paracetamol is good for the toughness of life, so I’m here again bringing my warm up for today. 

What is he thinking? I do not know. He may be looking at MC who’s reading something interesting on the other side of the bar (yes, let’s say he’s in a bar), and he doesn’t dare to approach or speak to them because he considers himself an idiot who only brings misery to people.

Or he may just be thinking how many salty bitters he will drink this day… Who knows? It can be whatever you want! What do you think?

PD: reply to @ilyeahdevorak Yes! I use three types of pencils, from hard to soft. The hardest one is H5 and I use it for the basic structure. Using this I can erase mistakes and redo what’s wrong, but when I go with the next pencil (HB) I don’t erase because the softer the pencil the more the paper stains when you erase (and the harder it is to erase, by the way). For the last details and the dark outline I use a B1.  PD2: I decided some days ago to do a drawing challenge I called “1 month drawing Julian”. So you’ll find these graphite drawings for quite some days more. (I don’t remember telling this here)

I’m not feeling well today, plus it’s monday. And work needs to be done….

Giving it a “shot”

So not story related, but in my never-ending quest to be a single voice of reason screaming into a vacuum, I promised myself I’d document my experience if I ever contracted COVID.  And while I’ve thankfully managed to avoid that, I also made the same promise to myself when got the vaccine, which got the 1st dose of today at work.  One of the rare benefits of working in a hospital.  Being in outpatient means I’m not “front-line” but medium risk, given that I work face-to-face with people for hours at a time.

The sheer amount of ignorance & blatant stupidity I’ve seen about the whole vaccine is… well, I’ve never had much faith in humanity, so it wasn’t surprising.  I try to tell myself not everyone bothers to check their sources.  And for the record, I’m not speaking about anyone I’ve encountered on this platform.

So, in the aid of science & common sense, I’m going to be documenting any & all experiences I have following the vaccine.  There was never any doubt to me about whether I would get it.  Here’s my logic:

What’s the worst that could happen if I take the vaccine?  I get sick & die.  What’s the worst that could happen if I don’t?  I could get COVID & give it to someone I care about & they die.

The answer seems obvious to me.  Also, the government has better ways of tracking you than spending millions of dollars on prototype technology.  You have a smartphone, don’t you?

So let’s be as scientific about this as possible in our little case study.
