Today's Dephemerember prompt is Apothecary label and quirky cat or dog.
So we have a cat making stuff fall from a shelf, of course!

Moonover Marsh-themed Dephemerember Day 2
Today's prompt is Altered playing card and antique keys
I only used the shape of the playing card, as the card design would not fit my comic's universe. I used it to make a section of the front door of my healer/botanist character.

This year, I'm participating for the third time in Dephemerember, a prompt-based December junk journaling challenge .
I decided to make the journal themed after my comic Moonover Marsh, mostly because I wanted bright colours and a lot of textiles and fibers. My main character being a fabric merchant, it made sense to me.
Here is the journal cover. I've started working on it, and will post what I made in the next few days.

I'm back :)
No lichen pictures today because I've not classified my spring/summer batch yet. It's coming.
In the meantime, I've started working again on my comic Moonover Marsh, after many months. I have a comic-adjacent project coming in December which required me to draw a scene coming in a later chapter.
This is the group of friends of my main characters' parents, about 5 years before he was born. In this key scene, they are tailoring the first ever set of feminine clothes for the transgender teen of the group.

Why on earth are isopod scoops sold in craft stores??
(Note: this technique works very well for me, to pick them up safely, but I can't be sure it will work for everyone).

Pictures 1-4: Cypripedium calceolus, Côte-d'Or, France. June 3, 2024.
Picture 5: For comparison, Cypripedium parviflorum var. makasin, South of Saskatoon, SK, Canada. June 17, 2022.
Yesterday I went north to the Côte-d'Or department to see this rare orchid in a specific protected area. Due to this orchid's endangered status, the area is mostly not accessible, but a few plants are growing near the allowed path, just ready for pictures. A situation similar to that of the related species C. parviflorum which I photographed 2 years ago in Saskatchewan, Canada. A single individual was growing outside a fenced protected area.

Dactylorhiza fuchsii, Saône-et-Loire, France. May 28, 2024.
Note: I'm not 100% sure it is D. fuchsii, it could also be the closely related D. maculata, as the labella's shape and ornamentation of the specimens I photographed fall somewhere between what's typical for these two species; however the habitat (edge of a forest) seems to be more typical of D. fuchsii.

Orchis anthropophora (Man orchid)
Another species I have growing naturally in my garden.
Pictures 1 and 2 from a local conservation area. Saône-et-Loire, France. April 22, 2024.
Pictures 3 and 4 from my garden (April 22 and April 20). Picture 4 is of a flower i accidentally cut when gardening, and put in a vase inside. It's interesting to see how the conditions inside the house (warmer, no wind, less sunlight), impacted the colour of the flower.
