Actually, the journalist didn't write that Columbia's bosses aren't happy with him. What the tabloid article says is—and I quote—"[...] the five-year gap between Harry's albums has been a bone of contention among Columbia bosses, with some staffers suggesting the label release a series of singles to satiate fans."

So, no mention whatsoever of any kind of possible friction between Harry and his label. Personally, I find it quite interesting that Harry's team has decided to step in on the speculation surrounding the release of his new album. But ultimately, what they're saying partially confirms what Kodi Bramble (Harry's longtime drum tech on his tours) recently said in a podcast. And if I have to choose between him and some random Aussie radio host (iykwim), I already know who's more credible.

Social media sleuths and die-hard superfans are convinced that Styles is gearing up to release new songs in the coming months, with a fully-formed album to be released in March next year.

Unfortunately, fans may have a much longer wait ahead, as the Daily Mail can today reveal that studio bosses are planning to put the album release on hold until 2027.

In a strategic sales plan, Columbia Records is keen to launch the as-yet-untitled album to coincide with a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival, meaning another two-year wait for fans as the festival is having a fallow year in 2026 – intended to give the farm’s land chance to regrow.

Harry himself is also keen to follow up an album release with a blow-out headline performance at Worthy Farm, followed by a global stadium tour.

‘Harry was gutted not to do this year’s Glastonbury Festival, but he’s near certain to play at the next one, which due to the fallow year in 2026, doesn’t take place until 2027,’ a record label source told the Daily Mail.

‘His next album isn’t finished yet, despite the speculation on some of the fan websites. He’s a perfectionist and wants to make sure the release hits all the right spots.

‘Bringing the album out in 2027 to coincide with Glastonbury and a world tour makes a lot of sense. It just means fans will have waited five years after the last album came out.’

And so the five-year gap between Harry’s albums has been a bone of contention among bosses at Columbia, with some staffers suggesting the label release a series of singles to satiate fans.

The Daily Mail can also reveal that there is concern among music executives that the UK music scene, which was outdoing many other countries just a couple of years ago, has suffered from a paucity of decent offerings in recent months. Insiders think the release of selected Styles songs could put it back on top.

Yet, despite the furore around the release date, insiders have told the Daily Mail that Styles, ever a perfectionist, doesn’t want to churn out albums on demand, like some of his contemporaries. 

Instead, he will spend the next year perfecting the songs he has already written and putting together the second half of the album.

Forgive me for posting your lovely message like this, but I've never revealed my Twitter account here (or vice versa, my Tumblr there) because I prefer to keep the two separate for various reasons. I've spent a lot of time making sure that my TL there and my dash here show me as little toxicity as possible, and, above all, that I don't get harrassed by the same people.

I won't dwell on the matter further because it's not the point of your ask, but when receiving insults and hateful comments, attempts to dox you, and even death threats from ALL sides of the fandom (yeah, from some larries as well), becomes a regular occurrence, it's necessary for your mental health to do everything possible to protect yourself. And this also includes not revealing my identity, even if it's "concealed" by a nickname. So, I know you'll understand my choice 🙏

That said, I really didn't feel like ignoring your ask. If work and/or family commitments allow (and the person is not rude), I always try to reply. Plus, your message is so sweet, and I wanted to thank you for your kind words, which I truly appreciate. Not to mention that someone else might relate to it and feel less alone.

This fandom, I often repeat, has changed a lot in recent years. Add to that the fact that many of the people who were once part of it have left, and so now we lost much of the information we once had. Now there's no longer any desire to research, delve deeper, ask questions… there's no open-mindedness, people use Pinterest and TikTok as sources, they don't accept other opinions and they don't listen to other perspectives. (But I know this attitude also reflects the current general climate and we can notice it even outside the bubble of a fandom.) There are fans of fans who believe everything they post only because they have large number of followers, there's a segment of persistently unhinged people who don't respect boundaries, who do nothing but search for proofs as if it were a puzzle to be solved, who dissect literally every aspect of the lives of Harry and Louis, their family, friends, colleagues, and anyone else who crosses their path. There are too many internal factions, and this can only lead to constant conflicts. Every discussion quickly turns into an argument and fights. Twitter is the ideal place to vent frustrations, but Tumblr is no exception. Maybe, in some ways, it's just easier to dodge them and avoid unnecessary drama.

Like a fool, I thought and hoped that after losing Liam, things might change for the better. How wrong I was… And honestly, precisely because we now have to deal with this incredible and unexpected loss, every other topic takes a back seat for me. What was important before, I now look at in a different light. And, as I always say, if I were to enter the fandom now, I'd find it really difficult to become a part of it. Not only because of the myriad of information and events that have happened over all these years and that I would have to catch up on, but because that sense of community has been lost and it has become an inhospitable place with toxicity running deeply and rampant.

I don't want to end this long reply on a negative note. I'm generally an optimistic person, always hoping that things can get better, despite everything. If I'm still here, there must be a reason. More than one, actually. This fandom has so many flaws, but I've also found wonderful people thanks to it. Friendships that have lasted for years, and others that have blossomed more recently but are no less important. People with whom I can share a genuine passion and with whom I can speak freely and express doubts, concerns, and opinions without any fear of being judged, but rather with the understanding that exchanging ideas and perspectives shouldn't be a source of conflict but rather an opportunity for growth.

Hi, anon. Yes, I had already seen this article in the past. It's certainly not news that something discussed among fans was picked up by the media back then (it still happens today, actually, but for other & obvious reasons, much less so). Anyway, the article proves absolutely nothing. In fact, it only reports theories and speculation, as usual. And it does so in an extremely invasive way, starting with the title itself. Seeing certain people still rejoicing over something like this today shows that larries (only some of them, fortunately) have learned absolutely nothing from the countless stories of celebrities who were forced to reveal their sexuality after being outed by tabloids.

Furthermore, the OP (mind you, a veteran larrie) totally dismisses the fact that the ‘I'm gay. It's pretty unfortunate’ incident was widely and immediately debunked. As someone else pointed out in the replies, the press also gave the correct version of what happened that evening in the hotel lobby and what was actually said.

But I suppose that deliberately ignoring the truth, continuing to spread misinformation, and fabricating false evidence to push their own agenda is a prerogative of a certain specific group of people who prefer to be part of a fandom that increasingly resembles a cult rather than a community. It's really exhausting to see how, despite the existence of proper and real debunking, even after ten years there are still those who choose not to see, and to hear what they want to hear, and to not accept the truth only because it doesn't fit their narrative. It is also sad to see how at the forefront of these are some veteran Larries such as the OP, since newer fans (due in part to the fact that many blogs have been deactivated and the information they contained has consequently been lost) rely on what these people say, contributing to the spread of what is not true and to the bad name that all Larries have today.

I don't think it's possible anon. I don't think it's possible because Louis is no longer signed with Sony.

It's really important to understand that the power that a label has over an artist is based in the recording contract. The goal of those contracts is to make sure that artists are not able to sign with another label. Once an artist is recording with a different label, their old label still has control of their old recordings, but no other power over them.

Imagining that Sony has power over Louis, when he no is no longer signed to them is a fantasy grounded in deliberate lack of interest in how the music industry works.

I've been saying this for a while, but by the end of 2021 Louis had decided to actively portray himself as a father. He's pretty consistent since then.

Fans don't have to believe the story he's telling. But I think fandom is much easier when people accept that he's telling the story.
