I realised something about why I resonate with Bob so much

while he is absolutely an allegory/representation of bipolar disorder I also see a lot of my experiences with chronic pain in him

the highs make me feel like I’m invincible, and I forget to pace myself and inevitably push myself too far

then the void comes in and I can’t do anything except be in pain and think badly about myself

I loved his character before I had this realisation but now I love him so much more

this movie’s the best

i just finished episode 3 of private nightmares and holy shit.

can i give all of these people an emmy??

i made a joke before the season started that Alex and Xander would be paying for my therapy bills and this episode proved me right

then Mayanna and Gina came in with the steel chair and made me fully start crying with that scene in the church

and of course, Aabria 'always thinking about PvP' Iyengar making bold fucking moves with Katie

all of these characters are so so interesting, and this show means the absolute world to me already

Ok real talk tho. The costuming for everyone in Private Nightmares is awesome but I want to talk about how cool the way Alex is presenting. Like when you first see him, he just looks well put together and a professional and it’s like yeah he clearly is trying to put his all into this and of course his in all black. Alex is The Emo Dude. It just makes sense. BUT as he starts to move around and establish the mobility of this show you realize the point of it. He is camouflaged to the background until he want to be noticed again, jumpscaring not only the audience but clearly also the players! (Xander mentioned in chat that when Alex grabbed him, he was genuinely frightened as he fully had not noticed Alex get behind him) I just think that it’s such a cool choice for this style of show and plays really well into the idea of the hidden beast lurking in your mind

Like, you’re never going to have your day in court, because you’ll never have a ‘day’ again. How is parenting going to work when you can’t be there for them during the day and also you crave to feed on blood. But your children also help you keep being you. You get to deal with the anger and grief of a divorce while also dealing a beast howling in your blood.

And that’s not even getting into the clan specific stuff.

Katie is not at all what I expected after Fuego, but I am so here for it

there is already so much complexity there with her desire to be free and out in the world but her children are what keep her tethered, and will ultimately keep her as herself
